angelo82: "HISTORY has a way of REPEATING itself" FO aka AP drop from N300 in 2007 down to N8 in 2012 then climb back to N250 in 2015 and has been on the descent since then even touched N50 last year-end So you still need a soothsayer to tell you its going home to MAMA 1 Like |

jp130: There is no bull yet.............the bull is seen in bank sector and the cause is that investors are trying to position ahead of 2016 fye results which is about to hit the floor. Watch out the next bull coming from the oil stocks/companies favoured by recent government policies. we are making cool cash this year. |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by PETERiCHY(m): 4:41pm On Jan 09, 2017 |
locodemy: Let him be ranting in 2012 when FO traded N8 how much was crude price then. For those that follow trends in 2013 when FO started ascending from SubN10 it consosilidated around N40 the moved again and consolidated around N80 from there above N100 and finally met the BRiCKWALL @ N254. It's the same staircase its use for descending. 1 Like |

Coolcash1: Yeah it seems is the result that will move the price up and some people already knew that by not allowing it to go higher so that they can accumulate enough to sell later when the stock is on full bid post result. |

angelo82: You Are spot on. Let the guy spewing rubbish continue and be blocking others from making money.. We know that, to borrow @fxuser word, FO is a JUJU stock that does not respond to the jargons he wrote... I looked at the nine month results and compared it to 2015 yoy and realized that the performance was better. Which gives confidence that good dividend is likely to be declared... 1 Like |

I don't want to be a party pooper but UCAP is slowly strolling into the over-valued region for an FI in my opinion |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by megainvest: 8:26pm On Jan 09, 2017 |
NuttyChoky: Wait till you see the FY result! After that, it will become overvalued but until then, it is still undervalued. Remember that after it returned over 100% of PAT as at q3, it went on to close a N9 billion bond deal (very successfully) for Forte Oil in Q4. They made cool cash from that deal also. FY EPS will likely be about N1 and dividend about 50 kobo. This is enough to drive it to km 4. 2 Likes |

Does anyone know if MTN Nigeria is still listing this year? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by DeRuggedProf: 9:35pm On Jan 09, 2017 |
richie9093: Do NOT WAIT FOR BONES.... I CANT SAY MORE... . Why did they not list ALL THESE YEARS? Now that the competition is a hangman's noose, they are looking for a way out. Its like collecting their profit for the next five years and leaving you with the business, while still taxing you and they will be running it on your behalf and giving you PEANUTS. Even JIJO may be expensive with them.... . Most businesses list after the juice is completely squeezed out....Forget the cooked results you will see before the listing I hate deceptive accounting..... 3 Likes |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by richie9093(m): 9:55pm On Jan 09, 2017 |
DeRuggedProf: If I remember correctly, the reason they wanted to list was because NCC reduced their fine from ₦1.3trillion to ₦330billion on the condition that they (MTN) would agree to being listed on NSE. And they agreed to it. Somehow the news has died down and nobody is talking about it again. This country sef. |

I know this is coming in a little late and might sound crazy. But please , I need someone's help ; I'm a beginner How do I start with investment in shares here in Nigeria. And will 100k do for a start and yet bring in good returns?. How soon should I expect the returns /profit? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Coolcash1: 5:04am On Jan 10, 2017 |
Mckayzee:p When it comes to share investing no amount is too small and no amount is too big...Yes, you can start with 100k. There are good stocks to pick on the floor of the exchange. You can go for FCMB, UBA, FBN, ACCESS, UCAP, Total, Eterna oil, All dangote vompanies; flour, cement and sugar and so on. Mind you be ready to face the unexpected because you have to understand stocks can go up and come down at anytime... But the comfort is to put your money in the good ones with strong fundamentals... Good luck and welcome to the club Lest I forget, don't be a stranger on this forum as you will learn a lot and benefit from the experience and technical know-how of erudite members... 2 Likes |
