This company held its Board meeting yesterday. Why is there a delay in releasing the results to the public? The action of this coy of late is worrisome.

Good day everyone,

Please, I'm looking to start investing in the Nigerian Stock Market but I don't want to dive in without knowing what's what. Is there a reputable website where I can go to do stock research i.e a place that collates data on companies like price history, P/E, EPS, dividend yield etc?

Which brokers are the best/most reputable? do they provide resources for investors to research stocks?

Thanks for your reply

it was disclosed before the merger, that diamond would take impairment for all their bad loans before the merger. So its not surprising.

I called the registrar and they told me that I had more than one shareholder numbers with respect to some companies. They adviced me to submit through my broker. I posted the forms to my broker since last february and till date I have not seen any confirmation or dividend. I know I have fcmb, fbnh, dangote flour, eterna oil and transcorp dividends pending since last year. I will process it when ever I come to lagos.
What if it is same CHN but different brokers?

Access Bank Plc on Monday, April 15, 2019, won a court case to take over Etiebet’s Place, a popular landed property in Lagos which belongs to a former Minister of the federation.

The property, which is located along Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, is owned by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Chief Don Etiebet, in the name of his firm, Obodex Nigeria Limited.

In a ruling, Justice A. Liman of a Federal High Court in Lagos, rejected a motion on notice seeking to stop Access Bank Plc from taking over the property.

Its glaring you lack comprehension. Go back and read my mention you're referring to again, this time slowly and with a positive mindset or call your brother Cornwall to read and interprete it for you.
You keep information to yourself but quick to come out and blame those speaking out. You tried.
Last time I'll give you attention on this matter. I moved on already, don't have time for forth and back. sad

See who is accusing another of comprehension problem? What an inverted accusation! Are you sure you read what you wrote above before posting it? You are the very one lacking in comprehension. I once pointed this out by saying you have no use for figurative language when you reacted to a comment I made in an obviously sarcastic tone.
The back and forth you suddenly claim to have grown weary of actually started when you attacked me first for airing my view in support of Chibuking's theory on the genuine identity of village people. In that comment, I didn't mention you at all, but, reeling from guilty conscience, you came in with your trademark of dirty language by which you had made countless enemies on this thread already. You once had a protracted, albeit unnecessary, quarrel with another female moniker here for airing her views in a conmment in which she too didn't mention you. Why you are always so paranoid is what remains a puzzle to me. You need to unlearn this your attitude of picking up a guilty conscience when others air their innocent opinions. No be only you waka come. No be you get this thread. Na school all of us come do here. Learn to let others be. If you don't like anyone's view, you waka pass as long as you are not mentioned in it.

An Airbus 380 is on its way across the Atlantic. It flies consistently at 800 km/h in 30,000 feet, when suddenly a Eurofighter with Tempo Mach 2 appears.
The pilot of the fighter jet slows down, flies alongside the Airbus and greets the pilot of the passenger plane by radio: "Airbus flight, boring flight isn’t it? Take care and have a look here!”

He rolls his jet on its back, accelerates, breaks through the sound barrier, rises rapidly to a dizzying height, only to swoop down almost to sea level in a breathtaking dive. He loops back next to the Airbus and asks, "Well, how was that?"

The Airbus pilot answers: "Very impressive, but now have a look here!"

The jet pilot watches the Airbus, but nothing happens. It continues to fly stubbornly straight, with the same speed. After five minutes, the Airbus pilot radioed, "Well, what are you saying now?"

The jet pilot asks confused: "What did you do?" The other laughs and says, "I got up, stretched my legs, went to the back of the flight to the bathroom, got a cup of coffee and a cinnamon cake and made an appointment with the stewardess for the next three nights - in a 5 Star hotel, which is paid for by my employer. "

The moral of the story is:
When you are young, speed and adrenaline seems to be great. But as you get older and wiser, comfort and peace are not to be despised either.
This is called S.O.S.: Slower, Older, Smarter.

Dedicated to all my friends who like me likes the S.O.S. approach! ✈️
That's for the ideal situation which can't be ascribed to the Nigerian terrain by any standard.

Given the discount of a more than fair enough margin of inherent risk(including a possible deterioration/downside in asset quality from the acquisition of diamond) and at the back of an assumed zero growth in the near term, I have a FV estimate of N11.90.
...and quite frankly, this is me been cautiously optimistic with estimated figures in ACCESS' 2018 FY print.

But then again, the market will have to determine and champion things from here.

NOTE: Just a guide, NOT A RECOMMENDATION.
My advise; Pls follow ur instinct.

One word; FANTASTIC !!
Thats the fitting way to describe ACCESS banks Q1 2019 result.
Rake-off the few worries in that financial print, and this coy would still be peged as the cheapest banking stock on the exchange at the moment.
Away from the banking segment, CAVERTON still retains my pick as the best coy overall right now !!
With ACCESS, the post above still stands with FVE now reviewed upwards from previous guide of N11.90.
I expect their H1 2019 audited print to come in less weighty, inculcating the feasible downside risk with asset from DIAMOND. ...but whatever happens then, there sure will still be a lot of VALUE to tap from given ACCESS' current underpriced stance.
The figures behind the print(Q1) shows that ACCESS is financially well positioned to "take up and move on" with whatever DIAMOND would bring its way.
A good wine they say, needs no bush. ...time will always almost put things in their right perspective !!

It is well.

There is no attraction yet in the bolded, the moment I see it, I will buy. Zenith, JB, Fidelity and even Caverton with all the fundamentals are struggling to give capital appreciation. While Unity Bank, Diamond Chams, DF is making shareholders happy. I have since learnt to have a mixture of stocks with fundamentals and sentiments in my portfolio, so that in anyway the market goes, it is a win-win for me.
