Meristem has served me quite well, not to say they are without hiccups but their services have not been below average though there is always room for improvement.

Abeg who or what agency can I report a fraudulent registrar who refused to pay my dividends yet sent me a receipt for a dividend I did not receive.
They stopped replying me via email after they asked me to send my bank statement which I did.
I have proof of all this.

You don't even need to bother yourself about this.

Simply write to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and put the registrars on copy.

While writing to SEC, use the last mail you sent to the registrars and ensure you address it to SEC and not to the registrars. Cc the registrar only.

The registrar will even call you once the mail drops to their box.

Type SEC Nigeria on Google and you will see their website.

Curiouscity:

You see why I am tempted to say they only work with clients who have huge funds with them.
I bought my 1st set of shares with Meristem 7 years ago. One of them is UBA. I have have not collected any UBA dividend for these years. In 2019 I started complaining via emails, filled e-mandates forms many times. Nothing changed. They sometimes forget about my email, till I send a reminder.
I bought Diamond Bank in 2018. When Access Bank acquired Diamond, I was to get 10k cash and my stocks converted to Access bank's. Till today I have not seen the cash and didn't get any explanation except I should submit e-mandate form that I already did. I only recently got my Access dividends of past years few weeks ago.
You see? Our experiences are as wide apart as the North and South poles

Are you serious? It sounds strange to me judging by my own experience using Meristem. Wow.

Some of these companies are just too funny. Imagine UACN releasing result in March and fixing payment for june 23.
NSE anf SEC need to regulate the dates for these dividend payments aswear

While there is a low probability of possibility of this, there is no evidence supporting this.

Hello,

I have done this and it works for me. It was even my stockbroker that gave me the hint. Eco bank illegally make deductions from my account, I wrote them they did not reply, I wrote them the second time, someone called on phone explaining the reason for the deduction, I told him to reply my letter they refused. Thereafter, I wrote CBN and put them in copy, my money was refunded that same day.

I did the same for Africa prudential registrar, they replied my ignored emails immediately and follow up with several calls.

The Nigerian leaders always know the right thing to do in other to move the country forward, but they will never do it because they will lose the gains of the rot they are presently enjoying.

Tell me why a bank will have to submit its result to CBN for vetting and approval, before its release to the public?

Also, why must company results be submitted to SEC for publishing on its disclosures website?

If you think the banks are flouting rules in their financial reporting, why not set up hefty fines and sanctions, and punish them when they are found guilty of manipulating results?

The reason is simple!

CBN wants their cut from the largesse. SEC also wants their cut too

Now, a bank sends in results. CBN staff "vets" it and sees the result before everyone, and then if the result is fantastic what happens? The staff gets some for their self, informs friendly colleagues in other departments to do same, notifies their family members to do same, church or mosque members, et al.

And when they get their fill, they forward same result to SEC to repeat the same process, before the result is published on the disclosures website.
Effect: Huge short-term trades before and after the release of results that profits individuals who never invested in the company whereas there are people who invested their money in the companies for long term and whose value is being depreciated.

How it should be:
First, companies should have a direct access to the NGX disclosures website and should upload disclosures directly from their investor relations or corporate office. No other eye should see disclosures before the public apart from the directors of the company, who also should be monitored for insider trades from time to time.

Finally, banks should upload their disclosures and results directly to the NGX disclosures site after audit or release. CBN should investigate and vet the results after release for discrepancies. If any discrepancy is found, then the bank should be fined heavily and the directors sanctioned appropriately.

BUT... will this be implemented? Oga at the top no go gree because money go commot from him table grin

Bad condition!!!

They can't buy or sell without it showing, so is (or will someday be) a scalping opportunity for smart organised investor action.

Since you have proof, problem is half solved.
Try and do follow up with your bank first, to be sure the non-remittance is not from them, maybe it's hanging somewhere inbtw their system........cos I doubt if it's a fraudulent receipt the Registrar sent, very uncommon.
Next, send mail to SEC as you've been advised, with Registrar in copy.
Stand on their neck until they resolve the issue and credit your bank acct.

It's very possible for fund to hang with the bank........some will reverse, some you have to track it by yourself........and if you don't take any action, it may just be there.

Zenith is on sales someone is dumbing. I guess remnants of FPI's whom still have a high proportion of Zenith shares.
Sales is going on in GTCO too.
UBA is not on sales as it seems no one is dumping persee. If dividend markdown is taken into view. It's like trading at N8.5 But Zenith post markdown has gone on sales. let me look for that website that has % of FPI. The last time I looked Zenith was the highest. Followed by GTCO with UBA following closely. grin

Yes I think there's the possibility of a merger and/or acquisition with 1 or 2 of the small lenders.
...nothing is cast in stone though.
We wait to see how things play out.

Plenty of posts to read from. (over 14 pages I think)
Not surprised though. ...guess it's not unconnected to the recent influx of financial reports from several coys. (know your mkt updates will be among them) wink cheesy cool
