That is why panic selling may not be good. Imagine people cashing out today at a loss...only for the market to turn around. Let's watch how the week will end. |

Born 2be Rich: On a serious note, house please who has any information as when insurance coys will start releasing their FY12 result and Q1.. I have never been a fan of insurance stocks....but when the valuation for a couple of them became so good i had to start visisting my friends who work in the sector to hear more on happenings there.. From all indications this year will be a bad one for the insurance coys.. the IFRS thingy has been hitting them bad.. u know 'Full Disclosure' no be small thing and these guys have never been able to keep clean books! So there will be so many write offs and provisions! I will advise you sell off all you have there and enter better stocks.. by next year hopefully i will play there cos by them al ot of clean up must have been done and the new "NO PREMIUM, NO POLICY' things will definitely make them to become cash cows unlike now where Insuranc ebrokers are short changing them! |

I gave instruction to my stockbroker to buy Livestock shares for me on Monday and he strongly advised that i stay away from it cos there is no strong fundamentals on ground. He told me their coy had bad experience on the stock of recent that it's difficult to recoup anything on it when the bear period surface, my advise on peeps clamouring for Livestock is to thread carefully. Skye, sterling and Diamond is preferable for keep for medium term while a gamble on Unity shares won't be a bad idea |

Livestock is being pushed by herd mentality and a future expectation of dividend, currently in this train, hope it passes the 10 naira mark. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by sellydion: 6:53pm On Jun 26, 2013 |
Some insurance coys are already in compliance with IFRS and income recognition based on cash . The delay is killing. They should let the cat out of the bag. Borntoberich- I seriously need another grammar. Happy investing |

Your stockbroker may not be far from the truth. Livestock is one of those coys whose unprecedented growth, since the start of the year, is not being supported by adequate fundamentals. However, this does not stop some sharp investors from diving in and diving out as soon as they make good profit because buying Livestock at current skyrocketing price for long term may be risky. As for me, if Livestock no come back to N3.00, I no dey do. |

for an old company like UAC to stake 50percent on this livestock should tell u they are seeing things we cant see. Thats just my piece of advise. Enter livestock if u want to now. I once made this tragic error about presco when it was around N6 some years back, yes u read right, and today we know the market price now, part of the reason why i can never buy presco, cos the memory hunts me, lol. Livestock is a buy for me o! |

foul language is not allowed to be used here. Respect everyone. We have people of personality and "insulting people" is one of those things that make honourable people not to be active on forums. |

Aks: I gave instruction to my stockbroker to buy Livestock shares for me on Monday and he strongly advised that i stay away from it cos there is no strong fundamentals on ground. He told me their coy had bad experience on the stock of recent that it's difficult to recoup anything on it when the bear period surface, my advise on peeps clamouring for Livestock is to thread carefully. you mean the marketer working in the stock-brokering firm you use? Aks, if u do your home work well, you may know more than these marketers. Agree they are in the business, but they dont buy for themselves, becos they dont know how to. so they advise u trying to sound professional. Each time I ask my stockbroker(marketer) for stocks to buy, he always picks stocks that are downward trending, but he is very good as sell signals. but I do the buy signals myself, even when he disagrees and do my homework and insist, i've not regreted such actions yet. Some of these stockbrokers, 97% are marketers trying to meet target-especially if their coy has interest or huge stocks they want to offload to amateur investors! What makes a stock makes you money is not just fundamentals, in fact real money is made through market sentiments and news. These can rally a stock to new heights and the stock may never come down again. at that level fundamentals will catch up with the stock. Its the way of the markets all over the world. First bank has all the fundamentals but for past 2-3 months has not made up to 5% for investors, while coy not as big and stable has made more than 150% within 2 weeks for investors- who listen to market sentiments and news. Fundamentals are good when you are looking at long term stocks to hold, and during bears. You must align fundamentals with market sentiments- if you have to chose, MARKET SENTIMENTS WINS 100 meters while fundamentals wins marathon races. It depends what race you are running. Hope u grab. 2 Likes |
