Good Day Fishpreneurs,
We are a newly built, developed and equipped Nine Stars Hatchery and Farms located at Shagamu, Ogun State.
With Technologies & Ideas from India, Vietnam, Thailand, China and Nigeria our farm boast a monthly production capacity of about 500,000 or more fingerlings production as of now.
The fries are produced from a selection of hi breed and well taken care 3 to 5 years old Brood stocks. A well balanced diet is followed in taking good care of these parent fishes in which they are fed on high quality proteins for optimal & fertile egg development, B-glucans to support the immunity system, Extra Vitamins C and E to improve the general status and fertility, powerful mix of anti-oxydant and astaxanthin which make sure that the eggs produced are of a very high quality, sustainable and the fries produced would be grown at a greater speed with weight, body & immunity.
Our fingerlings at week 7 to 8 have an ideal size of about 3cm to 5cm weighing about 3 grams to 5 grams, These fingerlings when ready to be moved out of our farm are technically graded and sorted which gives them a uniformity to reach direct to table size level without being sorted or graded again, We have experienced farmers and specialist from India and Nigeria who take care of the well-nourished and nutritional diet of these fingerlings from day 1 of hatching.
We start our opening sales with a promo to encourage more and more local farmers to get into commercial fish farming, our offers as follows:
100 fingerlings with purchase of 1,000 hi breed, very active and fast growing fingerlings.
* 2 bags of 1.8MM/2MM imported fish feed with purchase of 10,000 hi breed, very active and fast growing fingerlings (booking open till stock last)
* 5 bags of 2MM/3MM imported fish feed with purchase of 10,000 hi breed, very active and fast growing juvenile (Only on pre-booking and waiting of max 2 weeks)
Kindly check out & like our page on Facebook - Nine Stars Hatchery and Farms for more details, information and new promo offers.

Well said Komakan!

We should make conscious efforts not to over promise especially at start up because that automatically means delivering less.
When your customers lose money because of your incompetence/ lack of planning/ your not keeping to your promises, there wont be repeat business.

It is always better to start out small and grow organically than to claim big (overestimating your capacity) and struggle to keep up.

Good luck Belusconi!

Thanks bro, I have being observing your works and want to say well done bro, commendable. For the other guy I wanted to verify if he/she knew what was written, but the ban didn't allow me to clarify. Though it is possible, but I wanted to see if that op was confident enough to conceive us. I could explain how if ask, but not without the farmer's diligence with investment e.g. 350, 000 post fingerlings/juveniles in 6 months will get you your 5 million when all the facilities is on ground before hand i.e. 120,000 unit production every 8 weeks. condition that he has good brood stocks etc. I didn't want to write off is idea, but just want to see what insight he/she was bringing to the table. Though we learn everyday.

WELL DONE BRO

Hellooo Sir, to be honest with u, i really appreciate ur invaluable analysis here. Please sir, i just want to know, is there an available market in any particular state that can accommodate such high quantity of fish like the 350, 000 fingerlings u talked about? How easy is it for the farmer to dispose that much table size fishes at any particular time ?

Good afternoon my people, i just want to use this medium to thank selfless member of this forum who have been generous with information to young catfish farmers and i have been tutored by so many of you despite being far apart but your advise has been the light that illuminate the darkness world of fish farming.

One of my resolution to produce 50% of my feed by myself this year [2016] has been achieved with the designing of a locally produced grinding and pelletising machine that i now use to produce my rich pelletised feed. The 2 in 1 diesel machine uses one motor to drive the grinding as well as the pelletising machine and it has been very efficient.

My thanks goes to our professor in feed formulation, our amiable Ab1x for his contribution and advice on feed formula. I am very proud to announce that my 2mm feed with 40% fishmeal, 45% animal protein and 54.7 crude protein is less expensive compare to coppens 2mm. It is an eye opener that our local feeds if well formulated is far richer than the so called foreign feeds.

Mr Robonski, Soft777, Oga excellesoir, Chilanfarm, Komakan, Phemmy, Mecylicious, Billy and my respectable Nuvemberz, you are wonderful people, you have driven the passion to take calculated risk into our lives and we would not disappoint you.

Thank you all

I'm just getting in touch with this tread this morning, i was overwhelm, captivated and motivated also rejuvenated the long dead plans in me on this particular topic. It clears all that negative thought 'investors always loss in fish farming', you are dishing out what many will be hiding or asking for money or un-necessary attention b4 giving out, plus physical, psychology and emotional assistance, haaa! Just too short of word, i pray that may God in His infinite mercy shower his blessings, grant you good health and spare your lives for greatness. Weldone op and the great minds that dishing out un-restricted info. Bt i noticed i missed alot, 227 pages! Where to locate those feed formulation, calculation of number of fish to be in a pond and the rest, how i wish i could get those stuff.

As big as Ijebu ode is, I can only vouch for two farms. They use broodstock weighing 8KG and above to hatch. I collect my fish from them. I can wait for a month or more for their fish. Their fingerlings is simply the best!
pls if I stay in Ibadan can I collect my seeds as far as from ijebo ode? What is d possibility of them surviving the stress of journey, since fishes are so fragile when discomforted away from their natural habitat? Thanks

sir if we consider d weather,we will not do exploits.Though presently am in school, just do a bit of assistance when needed & i consider d timing suitable for my focus. 350,000 Fingerlings in 6months isn't too much, the question is can you produce & manage it successfully without selling poor seeds. Another question will be, are you prepared from the beginning,do you have d broodstockS,cash, space & water.if good product, a little referral from your clients & all will be sold. The farm i mentioned in ogbomoso(designed by d german) use to produce 70,000-100,000 fingerlings monthly, they only do growout & not enough

my bro, the 350,000 is even for someone that is only into postfingerlings/juveniles production i.e. N15 by 350,000 in 6Months. To stock that much for grow out, that means d individual or company is loaded, heavily loaded. The bro/sis feasibility might not be ok or could be ok, but even from either, i always feel there's a take away. Though i am patiently waiting for his/her statistics, you know man should learn daily or become old

Sorry about that, use oxytetracycline and salt to treat them, they'll be fine. Drain the water, add fresh water to one feet then add mixed tetracycline into the pond. leave for about 2-3hours then fill your water to normal level. You can repeat after 3-4 four days

Though I haven’t seen the report you guys are talking about neither do I know this guy but yes 5m even in maximum 3months is possible with mélange fish farming.
60,000 fingerlings to be feed with #3,960,000 to attain average weight of 400g will give you a total of 24,000kg (800baf) and a gross return of #10,320,000 if u sell at #430/kg.
Cost of fingerlings and feeding (excluding miscellaneous) amounts to #4,560,000
Profit= #5,760,000

i already discussed with those handling their sales, and i don't need to work anywhere to know what is happening there. If i want to know something, i go meet with those i know have d info, i don't stay at d gate. Since you are in ibadan , verify, go on their sales day tuesday & thursday or find out if any changes & just observe a day sales. Come back & report, it seems somewhere it is mentioned u have integrity, hence we expect honest report. Any one can take up a sales day & come back & report or discuss with those making d sales or a step further, talk with d lebanese or is it indian overseeing marketing of d fishes. The quantity might be more, that is d figure i got & a day off to inspire u on any of their sales won't be much sacrifice, especially to get a first hand info that could widen ones horizon that more can be done & that market is available.
