Wow, i have been taking my time to read and didn’t know u was having a block.

Here is my take on how you can work on your block – go back and relate with your characters, speak with them and understand what they would do next.

I think you have failed to be consistent with Jide’s character. This is the major cause of your block. You started him out as tough and determined only to end up making him confused and a little weak. I mean who is Brenda to call him an animal in his house and walk out with his wife? That is not the jide you started with. What is Jide’s plan? Why is he going back to granny? That is making him a mummy’s boy. Granny should have come in naturally but not on Jide’s resolve. Can’t he handle his wife? Stop making the story a revenge game and show us how love can win despite all odds.
Now what is Ade’s role? Didn’t he plan to get back at Jide? .

Now to help your block, I think you should make Jide more proactive in getting back his wife and not sitting at home and waiting for food while his wife whom he had started loving is busy parting, yet he is going to call granny. He should take a bold step in proving his love, bring in some actions, make him a rude lover boy

Make him rescue Daisy from some sort of trouble, (Create one either with Peter or Ade) also make Brenda repent from hating Jide. She might lastly have to go to jide for help or something. He is actually the victim in this story and not Daisy. Daisy is paying for her mistakes... she must realize this and stop playing the victim.

Lastly get back and have a one on one communication with your major characters. You will see that they will definitely talk to you. And pls Jide should sleep with his wife already even while they try to find love for themselves. This will bring in some maturity.

You have a lovely story that touched the soft part of me when i started, pls finish this, you can do it.

Some Previous update on chapter 17 has been pulled out totally and rewritten.

Chapter 17. Continuation

******
Jide now in his study was getting dressed in preparation to visit his family home. He had resolved to talk with his father about the issues plaguing his marriage. They had to be something he could learn from the oldman since he had been married himself, he was afterall a part of the situation and had in league with his grandmother gotten him settled with Daisy. So it was high time they called her to order or else he would damn every consequences and take drastic measures to put his mind at rest. Marriage wasn't a do or die affair afterall.

'not atall, it isn't' Jide said to himself and rose from where he had sat tying the lace of his shoes. Casting a final look around his study, he headed out.

Out in the hallway, his pace slowed as he walked past Daisy's room. He stood a few step away from the door, an irritated twitch on his face.

'Daisy's bloody hideout' he spat bitterly. But before he could give another thought, he found himself walking towards her door and pushing at the door handle.

'and as usual, it is locked!' he cursed and stepped back, wondering what he was even doing trying to enter her room when he should have atleast been on his way out of the compound.

But his treacherous feet didn't carry him away from the door, instead a naughty grin played up on his face and he found himself heading back to his study.

As soon as he entered his study, Jide went into action, searching frantically at every nook and cranny of the drawers in his study.

'am sure I kept them somewhere here' he said to himself minutes later as he now stood glancing around the room. He headed towards the rack containing his books to continue his search in between the books.

Yet no luck.

Jide knew the futility of his impromptu search, but he didn't feel like relenting, few minutes later he was yet to meet with success.

'this is ridiculous' he said in defeat and felt foolish, he decided to head out for good this time, but that was when his eyes caught the object he had been searching for, hiding unpreturbed amongst his paper-studded desk.

With a broad grin, he walked towards the table and picked up a bunch of identical keys.

'the beauty of duplicates' he said and walked out of his study, smiling.

*****
'let's see what pretty Mrs Daisy has been hiding' Jide said as he pushed open the door to Daisy's room.

Before him was a slightly untidy room, a pile of cloths was heaped at a corner of the bed, Jide recognized the pink dress Daisy had worn to the awards among the pile, the wardrobe door was also wide open.

The only thing that fascinated Jide was the wallpaper above the bed that called out to him.

'Daisies of the morning' he read quietly as he made his way into the room, wondering what he was doing there. It wasn't like there was any state of the art decoration that had been added, besides all the female knick knacks, it still looked the same to him: same colour, same curtains, the mirror still stood where it had, the bathroom hadn't moved, the wardrobe was still resting on the wall, and infact, it was as untidy as he had ever seen it! Why then had he left the important place he was going, just to search for a damn key and open a room that didn't presently add value to him.

However, he knew deep in his heart that curiosity had led him here. If Daisy guarded this room tenaciously and kept it under lock and keys when she wasn't around, meant they had to be somethings she was hiding. Maybe discovering whatever it was would spite her and give him a chance to get back at her for the way she was making him feel these past days.

Now seated on the bed, Jide glanced around the room, still contemplating the foolisness of this action when his eyes caught a brown object amongst the pile of cloth on the bed.

He drew it closer and opened it to discover that it was his wedding album which he never knew existed.

Daisy must have been going through it before Brenda came calling, he concluded as he flipped through its pages.

For the next minutes, Jide scanned the pictures, paying more than required attention to each photo as he relived the experiences of his marriage of months ago.

He saw through the smiles plastered on the faces of his family and even Daisy as they posed for the pictures, realisation struck him then, that he had been the cause of it all. But inspite of his present state of remorse, he smiled at his poses in the pictures he appeared in. He had not smiled, hadn't try to pretend, instead he looked like a trapped bird seeking means of escape. The only time he had seen himself smiling was in the picture where he had danced with Grace while Daisy stood at a spot. He cursed the photographer for not just taking the shot but also compiling it in the album! If it hadn't been somehow printed directly into the album, he would have torn it out from the bunch.

Re: Story: Taking Chances by princesa(f): 2:30pm On Jul 10, 2013
She must have recently gone through the album seeing that it laid on her bed, Jide concluded as he set it down.

He wondered why she had put herself through the torture? For he had not seen any wonderful moments worth remembering in the album. Why had she seen his scandalous acts in the wedding and yet rode home with him after the wedding? Left to him, the annoying album would have long gone up in smokes. So much for weddings and memories, he sighed.

One thing that was clear was the fact that he hadn't treated Daisy any better than she had deserved. But then again, he was yet to understand why she had put up with him and even married him in the first place.

As he made to rise, his eyes caught something else stucking out of the pillow. Relaxing back, he raised the pillow to discover another endless stream of still pictures. Jide wanted to ignore it and be on his way out, but he couldn't. He felt drawn to it, especially as he was currently looking down at one bearing a younger version of Daisy. Jide picked it up, then smiled when he saw the unmistakable resemblance.

That sealed the deal, he decided then to just as well spend whatever time there was discovering things about his wife. Wasn't there a saying that pictures never lie? Besides, the million and one pictures now scattered on the bed teased and tugged at his curiosity with the promise of taking him deep into the secret world of a wife whom he hardly knew.

There was nothing to lose, he concluded and drew the pictures closer.

******
Jide now in the parlour, was in his usual prancing form, the saying, 'curiosity kills the cat' could best describe his plight. He had discovered more than he had bargained and instead of feeling accomplished at his discovery, the hunger to know more overcame him. There were many puzzles about his wife he needed to unravel, but he knew Daisy was angry to even look at him, much less talk with him.

But he needed answers. Things were gradually falling into places, he could presently grasp little about Daisy's life, but he wanted the complete version, wanted to know about her connection with Nigeria, wanted to know about a particular male that dominated some of the photos of he'd seen. He knew who Brenda was and had somehow understood why Brenda seemed so protective of her friend, even if she showed it in an annoying manner.

But most importantly he wanted to know what his personal portrait picture had been doing amongst her collection. It was too significant to discard. He was sure that there was more to the picture than coincidence.

And the next best person to explain these mysteries was his grandmother. But the problem now was how he would call a woman whom he had despised, scorned and held in contempt over the past months. Even though he believe that he was a changed man now, he knew that his grandmother wouldn't simply take his past sins in her stride and act as if nothing had ever happened.

These were his fears.

Jide sighed and pulled out his phone, he felt his heart pounding hard against his chest, but he urged himself on and dialed her number.

'here goes all or nothing' he muttered silently as he waited for the call to connect.

*****
Daisy seemed to have all her life documented in still images. Jide had been fascinated whilst he tried to piece the pictures together.

He had seen pictures of Daisy's younger years, when she had been schooling and all. Although he didn't know the exact places she'd grown up in, he had guessed it to be in Nigeria because the scenery, arches and curves pointed towards it.

Then they were pictures of her when she had been in Boston, he'd seen pictures of her and a woman he guessed to be her mother, but the word 'RIP' had been written above the woman, knowing that it signified death, he felt pity for Daisy and saw the connection they both shared in terms of losing their mothers.

There had also been endless pictures of her and Brenda in various poses, Jide had smiled then, realising that their friendship obviously dated way back and would account for the closely knitted bond they shared now, even if it was doing more harm than good to their marriage.

He'd also seen a particular male that dominated some of the pictures, sometimes, it was him and Daisy and at other times it was the trio of Brenda, Daisy and the guy. He hadn't needed more to discern that the guy meant more than just a friend to Daisy, because some of the pictures in which they both appeared in portrayed a closeness that could only exist between lovers.

Jide had felt a little threatened but overcame it with the fact that Daisy should be expected to have dated someone else before they got married just like he had Grace, so they wasn't need for him to be jealous.

The guy, he concluded, would have been married or in a serious relationship now, but whichever way, he wasn't in Nigeria so there was no reason for him to fret.

Then there were pictures of Daisy dressed as a nurse, pictures of his grandmother and her, pictures and pictures and pictures, but the height of the search had been when he'd discovered his picture amongst the stack.

It was a portrait picture of his he remembered snapping while in his Mid twenties. It had looked so odd amongst Daisy's collection because it wasn't a recent picture of his.

Jide knew he had never been a part of Daisy's life, hadn't known her, barely seen her and hadn't liked her, so how come she had his picture?

If he had wanted to believe it to be an error, a misplacement, a game of chance, some gimmicks of mama, then the back of the picture had proved otherwise. At its back had been penned down dates of events he wasn't familiar with, but consciously knew had being significant. The only date he had been able to unravel had been recent, and that had prompted him to go through his calendar, only to discover that it had been their wedding day.

Even though it might have seemed childish and meaningless to someone else, it hadn't been to Jide, every stroke across his picture meant so much to him, just as he was sure it had meant more to Daisy.

That was when he'd felt drained of the zeal to dig further, in its place had been the longing to get answers on what part he was playing in a game he hadn't been aware of.

*****
Jide held the phone on his ear with apprehension. This was the second ring and Mama was yet to pick up. Was she just going to ignore his call? He wondered and hoped everything was alright with her, considering the fact that he hadn't kept in touch since.

'hello' Jide said soon as he felt it had been picked.

Silence at the other end.

'Mama...are...you there' he stammered with an unsure voice.

'Jide?' came the reply.

'good...' his voice trailed. In his apprehension, he hadn't checked up Boston's time.

'Jide, abi tani mon ba soro?' (who are my speaking with)

'Mama, emi ni' a pause then, 'Jide' he replied gradually getting back his confidence.

But the silence that followed punctured that confidence.

Jide gave out a long breath and said: 'mama, please talk to me, am sorry and I just...'

'gbenu e dake!' (shut up!) mama cut in with a shout. 'kilo so? You are sorry, just like that? Ah! Jide, mon ke fun Fun nko to she fun mi, I'm very sad! Ti eyan ba so fun mi kpe ole she ri, ah! I wouldn't have believed! Jide what came over you? Did you just forget everything i've done for you just like that? Nitori kpe mo Fe omo to da bi iyawo fun e? You treated me like your mate! Infact, send her back to Boston, she tells me that you've been treating her badly, so just send her back to me! Omo jati jati ni eh, o fe nko to da, awon omo oloriburuku lo fe na, so send her back! Mama concluded with a shout.

Jide had kept mute through out the rain of abuse, he had felt remorseful with each lash of mama's verbal whip, he knew he deserved it all and could picture how angry Mama would look as she bared her mind to him.

He exhaled now, haven unconsciously held it in all the while. 'am sorry, ma bi nu mama' (don't be annoyed) he replied.

Another silence passed, Jide thought he heard quiet sobs at the other end of line, this made his heart constrict more in pain. He had no idea that he'd hurt her so deeply.

'am sorry ma' he repeated soberly.

'I love you that's why i did what i did, how bad was that?' mama said. From her speech, Jide knew for sure that she had been crying.

'now i know that you and my father meant well. I was blinded by my arrogance and hurt that i turned insolent and bit the fingers that fed me, you're more than a mother to me, and I've missed you so much, forgive me please, sha nu mi, mami' he pleaded again.

Mama's sigh filtered through the phone before she spoke. 'I know your dad and i might have over done it, but we only meant well, and I have longed wished for you to come back to your senses. Jide omo mi, i forgive you, you are still my favourite grand child regardless'

'thank you mama, am very happy'

'kini ale she? Omo yin ni wa, ale jun yin nu' (what can we do? You are our children, we can't throw you away).

'e se ma' (thank you)

'Bawo ni Daisy omo mi? Ko fe kpe mi mo ni? Its been long i heard from her' (how is Daisy, she doesn't want to call me again?).

Now, one of the reason he'd called. 'Mama, Daisy is the problem, she's been acting up recently, especially after Brenda arrived Nigeria' he said.

'Brenda ke? Omo agaracha ibo yen?'

'you know her?'

'offcourse i know her! She's too wild for my liking'

'she's the one who's been advising Daisy and now she's behaving...'

'are you very sure? The last time Daisy called, she was complaining bitterly about your attitude'

He wasn't actually innocent himself. 'em mama...well...I...I' he stammered.

'gbenu e dake! Shut up! you've not been saying the truth yourself'

Am gonna toughen Jide's character again. Make him proactive, a rude boy lover, thanks for the tip.

good, looking foward to this

But he's not a woman beater, he can't hit Brenda even though her rudeness...

thats true, but should instil some fear... he could lock her out or in IT IS HIS HOUSE!! give her a minute of helplessness, well that is past tense now, we should look into the future.

And love making between them can't just happen when they are not in good terms, that's why it seems am prolonging it. How will i justify it?

remember they have already started liking each other, a mistake could occur that would create an awkward moment. me think you missed the chance when Daisy came home drunk. it would have changed a lot of things like making Daisy both happy and sad at the same time while she still fights with the spirit of forgiveness.

Jide and his grandmother go way back, but he's not a mummy boy, he just remorseful which is understandable right?

yes, but Jide could maintain his dignity if you allow his father or grandmum probe the situation out of him (as a result of the observant change in him). instead of him runnning to them.

Why would you say Jide's the only victim here, anyways they are both the victim.

he is a greater victim. he was forced to marry a woman he didnt love. daisy took the chance and not Jide... remember the title of ur story. Jide's reaction was natural, but daisy is only a victim of his reaction to her action.

And Brenda can't just like Jide, it will be gradual, but I've got her covered.
coooool

My only problem is fitting Ade in the plan.
of course you can. he is vindictive remember... Peter's presence could be an opportunity for him to do something that would put daisy in danger. he might even regret his action at last.

'well am changed now, and i want to make our marriage work but Daisy is proving difficult. There's also Brenda making matters worst'

'really? Daisy didn't tell me her part, but no worries, i will call Daisy and talk with her'

'thank you' a pause then: But they are other questions i...uhm want to ask'

'soro, mon gbo' (speak, am listening)

'well...today i uhm...happened to come across some pictures and i saw things...'

And so Jide told his grandmother things he'd discovered about Daisy and asked for her clarification, mama tried as much as she could to explain some of the things to him while she urged him to seek the answers to other personal questions from Daisy.

At the end of the discussion, Jide got a whole new perspective about Daisy and resolved not to give up on building their marriage.

******
Jide went over the set table again, doubts that the rice which still looked raw and tasted salty would do the trick, reflected on his face.

Yes, he had actually cooked and maybe broke a record, because cooking wasn't part of his abilities. Maybe Candles would have added color to the atmosphere, but there was no time to get candles and stuffs, neither did he know where they could be bought anyways. He would have preferred they went out, but Daisy's case was a complicated one, asking to take her out for dinner would be like wishing for the moon, sun and stars. Impossible! She would just ignore him and head for her room, only to be seen the next week! He'd never seen someone who loved indoors like her.

He only wished that he had some of Ade's charms and kitchen dexterity, the guy was a pro when it came to impressing the ladies, for he could still be the lady's delight even with his irritating character. That was probably the only good trait about him. Jide mused as he strolled over to the settee where he would patiently await his wife's return.

He was tired, haven struggled for the past hour to fix the perfect romantic atmosphere to impress Daisy so she could atleast be calm enough for them to talk about their marriage. Maybe she would appreciate his culinary gestures, for it wasn't everyday a husband cooked rice and warmed the stew for a wife, was it? He concluded as he slumped unto the settee.

Back then in school, what he had needed was his looks, wealth and popularity and he could get any lady he wanted, but now he doubted the effectiveness of all that. The Daisy he'd come to discover was a woman that didn't care about those stuffs, she wasn't into him because of his wealth, he didn't even think it was his looks that had caught and held her heart. He fully realised how he'd taken her love for granted, thinking her to be a puppet in the hands of his parents when all she'd done was love him.

He couldn't wait for her to return home and wished he had been decisive enough to stop her earlier when she left with Brenda to go see Peter, a man whose identity he understood now.

Mama had told him Peter was Daisy's ex, had warned him to take caution where he was concerned for she wasn't sure what his exact mission to Nigeria was.

But he still didn't feel threatened, the guy had obviously lost completely for he was the one with the legal proof of ownership. He would rather concentrate on making things right with Daisy, apologise for how he had treated her in the past and maybe, God helping, they could start over from the scratch.

yeah, guess i missed that opportunity for them to get a little cozy, if i would revisit the story, i would work on that part.

Okay, you're right, Jide seems to be the plausible victim here, but that's only because the table turned.

What a wild guess for Ade! Abduct Daisy? No no, i don't think ii portrayed him to be deadly and vindictive, he's just a harmless flirt out to pay for a wrong but definitely wont go that far. Maybe he should just apologise to Jide?

Thanks a zillion for replying me, but the point still remains that guys and ladies have different perspective to issues when they write, am gonna work with my plot.

Thanks againsmiley

Chapter 18.
A gentle breeze caressed the flowers that had bent their heads in slumber, making them move in protest. They hadn't expected the rude shake of the wind that trailed a black RangeOver car as it sped past them to stop in front of a black gate few meters away.

A stray debris that had also been disturbed twirled in the air and rolled past the locked window of the car that had just pulled to a stop.

Inside were two occupants, a male and a female.

'here we are' the man said and kicked off the engine.

'thank you' Daisy replied and tugged at the door handle.

'you sure you don't want me to come in?' he asked, concern etched on his face.

'its okay Peter, i can mange from here' Daisy replied, pushed open the door and stepped out.

'just take it easy and remember I am here for you' he said

'sure' Daisy replied non challantly and jammed the door.

'I'll keep in touch' Peter said as he kicked start the engine.

Daisy waved as the car pulled out to the road then turned towards the house without a glance back as the car drove out in speed, awakening the flowers that were already answering nature's call.

All of Nature's appeal and lure was however lost on Daisy as she made her way towards the building. She hadn't bothered to smile at Adamu or reply his greetings when he opened the gate for her. It would be an error to smile inspite of the gloom she felt within.

If she had thought a day out with Peter and Brenda would work magic to her shattered soul, then she had been wrong. For hours later, she still felt worse than before.

Seeing Peter had made her nostalgic, his presence hadn't really mattered, it was what it signified that had unruffled her. As far as she was concerned, he was guilty as well, for they shared something in common: they were men she had given up the world for, but they had broken her and reminded her of how cruel life had treated her.

Peter was Ibo, from a tribe she hated because of her dad and his people, yet she'd looked passed it and dated him. But Where had it landed her?

obviously the men in her life were bent on making her cry? Her dad, her step father, Peter and now Jide. She wondered why she had not lost faith in the male folks and dedicated her life to God as a sister, atleast that would have been a life of purpose. Daisy concluded with a sigh as she opened the parlour door.

'hi...welcome' Jide who was standing few steps away from the door greeted her with a smile. He had been aware of her arrival, although very late but had successfully pushed his anger to the back.

Daisy made a grimace and walked past him without as much as a 'hi' in reply.

Jide sighed resignedly and followed behind her, this was proving harder than he had thought.

'you could say something to me atleast' he said hurt.

'not in the mood' Daisy replied still heading for the hallway.

'well, i hope you're in the mood for dinner, because i cooked' Jide said ignoring her attitude

That caught her attention, she stopped in her track and turned back to peer at Jide.

A scoff. 'you cooked?' she asked screwing her face.

'sure, come see' Jide said and hurried towards the dinner, after a brief hesitation, Daisy followed, more out of curiosity than hunger.

'I uhm...warmed some stew from the freezer, you know i can't cook stew, but i tried cooking rice...it might be a bit cold because you didn't return early, but i would warm it up, if you would just exercise some patience' Jide explained.

Daisy had crossed her hands across her chest while she listened to him explaining, and on her face was a grimace.

'you didn't cook stew, just boiled rice, so what's the big deal?' she shrugged.

'don't be so hard on me! you very well know i don't cook, you should atleast appreciate the gesture' Jide retorted.

'too bad, cos am not impressed'

'but atleast try it'

'read my lips Jide, I...am...not...hungry' she stressed.

'okay, okay, lets scrap the food part, i just want to talk with you, straighten up issues, ask questions, you know, work this out'

'same old cliche again' she said drily and started walking away. 'am still not ready to talk' she added.

'but i am, and you have to listen to me!' Jide said in a slightly raised tone and followed behind. Daisy was starting to piss him off.

'no problem then, you can do all the talking' Daisy said pushing aside the curtain that led to the hallway.

'will you just stop acting spoilt for once!' Jide shouted behind her.

'you can scream down the building for all i care' Daisy replied drily.

'now hold on a minute' Jide said and walked faster to catch up with her 'you are taking this too far and acting like a spoilt brat and its irritating!'

'you ain't see nothing yet' Daisy replied and made to walk past him, in a bid to keep as much distance as she could from him.

'then you leave me no other choice' Jide said, then swiftly maneuvered his way to face her, before Daisy could reply or take another step she found herself pinned to the wall with his hands trapping her on both sides.

'what do you think you are doing' Daisy whispered in a failed anger attempt. She felt her heart start a frantic pound in protest to his closeness.

'please get away from me' she said in a weak voice.

Jide's replies her with a teasing grin and a look that showed that he wasn't planning on leaving soon.

'isn't this what we've both wanted for long?' he asked. His hands gradually moving from their previous position to rest on her waist.

Daisy didn't know why her strength decided to flee her, because even the tiniest push, she thought, could let her loose from Jide's arm that wasn't pressing her to the wall.

Then why was she immobile and nervous? While the freaking pounding of her heart was defeaning her and clouding her senses.

'I don't know what you're...' she tried saying.

'since you've decided not to talk, we could as well leave the talking part' Jide whispered, slowly bringing his head closer with each sentence.

Daisy couldn't feel herself anymore, her hormones were racing out of control

How easy it had been to melt her like jelly, was the last Jide thought as his lips met hers.

Daisy's eyes fluttered open in immediately she Felt his warm lips on hers. Her hands stood immobile by her sides while her muscle tensed in shock.

Gently, Jide teased at her lips before delving deep, his hands gradually caressin.g their way up.

Soon, Daisy felt herself relax, found herself responding to his kiss, then slowly her eye lids closed, she let out a quiet sigh in release of her pent up emotions. She didn't know when her body leaned closer to Jide or when her hands pulled him closer to herself as she relished the magic his hands were working all over her body.

'Pure haven!' Daisy Moaned.

Jide's hands had also longed left her waist and found themselves inside her top as he caressed the bosom that had so long teased and enticed him.

And there they stood, man and wife, lost to the world around them, relieving the tension that had hung over them for the past months of marital union.

Then slowly, what had started as a teasing kiss was fast turning into a desperate hunger for more. Jide was now pushing Daisy harder unto the wall, and his lips were tracing places other than her lips, his eyes became misty with lust and desire, even Daisy could feel all of him upon her body.

The tempo increased and the caresses became fierce, but that was when the magic stopped.

All of a sudden Daisy pushed Jide away.

Panting uncontrollably she stammered: 'we...we...shouldn't do this'

The hurt and desire on Jide's face was visible as he regained his composure and walked towards her.

'what...what's...wrong' he stammered.

Daisy bent low and evaded his incoming grasp. She couldn't tell why she had pulled away. She just felt the desire to run.

'I...I...I' she stammered, retreating backwards with few steps to her room, then struggled slightly with the door handle and soon the door jammed noisily.

Jide didn't go after her. He just stood panting and staring at her door. His face still flushed with unsatiated desire.

He hadn't meant for it to go this far, had just wanted to tease her with his kiss, how had he lost control?

He staggered towards his study, but later retreated his steps and headed for the parlor, desperately needing something to calm him down.

Back in Daisy's room, she was standing, her back resting on the closed door, half expecting Jide's knock any moment.

She however felt a bit disappointed when she heard none.

She wasn't in the right state of mind to analyze what had happened, why he had kissed her or why she had pulled away.

'Oh my God! Such a good kisser' she whispered breathlessly as she slowly made her way forward, half noticing the scattered pictures on her bed, or the fact that the door she had personally locked had opened easily.

Even if the mirror appeared shattered before her eyes, Daisy wouldn't have noticed.

Her mind was on the kiss.

Slowly, she took off her clothes and walked towards the bathroom. A cool bath might do the trick, she thought.

That night, Daisy purposely left her door unlocked in the faint hope that Jide would come calling later that night.

But he never did.
