Re: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by almondjoy(f): 9:31pm On Apr 16, 2008 |
delegiwa: he he he he he he I am not signing the dann petition. . .If Nigerians do not like the way they are treated. . .tough! Let them to and get their own airlines instead of stealing and enriching themselves. Only to be thrown out of foreign owned airlines like "soured moin moin" for real! Na so-so Yoruba people full the petition if the names are real ooooooooooooooooooh! In support for their country man who did not mind his business in the first place. Please if you guys want to sign use some fake names to reflect all tribes in Nigeria! I just signed up myself to the forum as a back up to escape from "Nairaland" wahala! |
Re: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by Nobody: 9:32pm On Apr 16, 2008 |
please one more thing, just signed the petition, even if ba apologizes, we still boycott, what we want is to be treated no differently just cause a flight eminates from or is destined to nigeria, so even if they apologze, we still no gree until we get discouted air fares in addition to the above demands! |

Re: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by delegiwa(m): 9:36pm On Apr 16, 2008 |
almondjoy: Well you can go ahead and call Mr Omotala a busy body, but I'm sure he was moved by something to do what he had to do not just as a Nigerian but a human being. I have a feeling that Mr Busy Body was well aware of the implications of what he was about doing and he did it anyway so my guess is that the deportee was really in pain. I don't blame him and won't. BA may have banned him and his luggage damaged but I'm sure he will always remember that day as a day he did what he had to do. I've signed my own petition far back. |

delegiwa: Thank you "Mr. Moderator"! Will the real moderator stand up please? D-reloaded: hahahahahahaha Gosh! Your sense of humor is wicked! D-reloaded: Why are you even bothering with that level of frustration? I just mentioned that "Yoruba" thing because I knew somenone would jump out and attack soonest. My hunches were right after all! Siena: Thank you jare. . . "The Real Moderator"! Especially when "NIGERIA" does not have it's own airlines. How in the world will anyone in their right minds sign a petition against "Molue drivers" even in Nigeria, when we know what Nigerians can do? Like I stated earlier. . .the only kind of vessels good enough to carry Nigerians anywhere in this world are "cargo planes" in the "bottom secret compartment" of any plane. . .seperated from the "cargo". And yes. . . "without lap belts"! |

Re: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by almondjoy(f): 9:54pm On Apr 16, 2008 |
Siena: Thank you. . . like he was in "Tejuosho Market or something"! Never mind the fact that he is a bloody deportee. That tells you that he is no stranger to breaking laws. Let him go back to Nigeria where such things are condoned. I wish the "Busy Body" Mr. Omotola could have had his own citizenship revoked too. What he did on that plane constitutes "terroristic interference" with a sub charges of "mob incitation"! What a fool! Any time I visit Nigeria, you see a bunch of these shameful looking deportees in handcuffs being escorted to the immigration officers in Nigeria under the scrutiny of serious looking security agents. As soon as they are handed over to the immigration officers in Nigeria, they just run out of MMA so people do not recognizes them. Shameless things! I really think they should have their own separate planes really like ReDeloaded stated. Who wants to travel with criminals for crying out loud? |

Ah Ah. u see? One naija deportee has cause person to be banned for life with Airline and now we have 2 other naija abusing self and family in the name of petition. As for me, i no sign petition cause BA i believe made a decision based on health and safety. |

Re: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by Dreloaded(f): 10:03pm On Apr 16, 2008 |
The fact that you think the dude was really "in pain" is amusing, delegiwa Like you don't know Nigerians and their obnoxious ways of getting attention/sympathy even if it means distrupting peace and quiet. The loser wanted attention and ending up disturbing the aircraft because of it, if anything he should be required to pay for Omotade's luggages. |
Re: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by EloSela(f): 10:06pm On Apr 16, 2008 |
Shooooooooo, this thread neva die? Na wa for una Anyway, let me add some small kobos. . . Apparently BA are legally obligated to transfer deportees back to their countries of origin. http://www.ekklesia.co.uk/node/5886 British Airways and Virgin, who were contacted by The Independent, said their aircraft had been used for the purposes of escorted deportations as they were under a legal obligation to return failed asylum-seekers. A Virgin spokesperson said: "That is a matter for the Home Office, who makes immigration policy. We are simply not qualified to make those decisions." Mr. Omotade should have stayed his a$$ in his seat with some headphones or something if he didn't want to listen to a wailing Deportee. |
Re: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by Dreloaded(f): 10:07pm On Apr 16, 2008 |
why not be "legally obligated" to place these deportees with first class passengers? |
Re: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by Nobody: 10:09pm On Apr 16, 2008 |
OK people everyone has their opinion at the end of the day. Main point is if u dont want to be supportive regardless of the circumstances surrounding this whole saga, fine, the main reason i am supporting the petition and boycott is cause i want some respect for my COUNTRY. I dont think dats too much to ask, why not lay aside our opinions for once and just make a statement just in the name of NIGERIA, By the way this post is not for those that are frustrated with Nigeria cause they were shit packers b4 they finally escaped to some country probably still packing shit! |
Re: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by TCUBE(m): 10:09pm On Apr 16, 2008 |
mr motade or no mr motade, the moral of this story is that we should learn to mind our own business, his "SOLoMANKINDE(NESS) CAUSED all these nonsence, on the otherhand, its sad that a passanger of an aircraft was treated like an animal(mr motade not the dumb ass that was screaming), I am surprised the dude is only seeking apology, thats crap, This is a perfect opportunity to make money out of those bastards, why on earth will a pilot have the ordasity to remove passangers from a plane, ? thats ridiculous, but anyways , what do u except, NO BE NAIJA THE PLANE DEY GO, lord have mercy |
Re: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by Dreloaded(f): 10:09pm On Apr 16, 2008 |

Opelope: Well, that's your belief and I respect that. My people has a saying that there must be something in a place where a child is crying and pointing at the same time. There has been been loads of complaints about BA's high-handedness especially on the London - Lagos route and all of the complainants cannot be "busy bodies". That's my personal thought anyways. |
Re: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by subice(m): 10:17pm On Apr 16, 2008 |
Wow! This is some thread. @topic I think people should not be so quick to judge and discount Mr. Omotade's story. Without saying that he was treated the way he was because he is Nigerian, my own opinion (and don't insult me if you don't agree, knowing nairaland) is that his treatment was influenced to some degree by that fact. To those saying that they have never experienced any problems on BA flights, that doesn't mean that others haven't and that the crew love you either. All it means is that they are doing their jobs professionally. This is not about some inferiority complex or whatever else you chose to call it, it's about the reality of the perception of Nigerians. It's typical of Nigerians to say 'it's none of my business' and some people here are condemning the man for speaking up, he should be commended for standing up to his principles and his concern for his fellow Nigerian. Until I hear otherwise, I'll accept his version of events that he was civilised in his approach. A good number of Nigerians are hypocrites. Don't forget that you could be a victim someday in some other situation. Some people like to criticize without offering anything constructive. Some people on this thread have talked about how Asians and Indians unite when there is a problem with one of their own. It's easy to see from some comments on this thread why that is not the case with Nigeria. However, I do not think a boycott is necesary or is a solution. @D-Reloaded You should have realized by now that there are some 'enlightened' people on narialand that must win every |

Re: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by EloSela(f): 10:27pm On Apr 16, 2008 |
TCUBE: LOL!@ SOLoMANKINDE(NESS) He was treated like that because he refused to mind his own business. He show de Naija's wey dey for plane say na ee get the same right as Prince Harry, no be so? Besides I am hearing that the Pilot wey clear the plane na Naija. . . Apparently if shit goes down when the plane is in mid-flight they say it is possible that Pilot could lose his license. Anyway sha, when Mr Omo was arrested, several people come follow the police make mouth na de Pilot come tok say those one must commot for plane as he no dey wahala. As BA staff not feat identify the specific ones wey follow the police get mouth, na the Pilot com talk say ee no wan play guessing game so it would be best to clear the whole of economy class. na so I hear ooo! This tori don tire me sef. When is Mr.Omotade's court date?. . .I am sure the real tori will come out then. In the meantime I am not signing ish! British airways or Virgin Atlantic direct to Lagos and Abuja from London for me all the way! Whichever is cheapest! |
Re: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by EloSela(f): 10:43pm On Apr 16, 2008 |
The issue I have here is that man was not really concerned about the Deportee, rather he was disturbed by the noise and he makes that quite clear in his transcript. The whole thing is messed up anyway. People are saying that Mr Omo spoke up out of concern and making out that he is some upstanding citizen when it is clear that ol' boy wanted them to quiet down so that he could get some kip on his flight Some people are blaming BA for the treatment of the Deportee when they really had nothing to do with it. They wouldn't have been the ones restraining the Deportee, it would have been the Police and the immigration officials and that is who Mr.Omo bigged up his chest to go and confront about the noise. Now if he had made his concerns about the disturbance known to BA staff in a reasonable manner, then I am sure the issue would not have escalated to what it is today. When the immigration officials had to leave the plane with the Deportee after the confrontation with Mr Omo, they told the Police and they came to collect their man. The only thing BA can be held responsible for is the decision to clear the flight and that was at the Pilot's, who I heard was a Nigerian, discretion. If he felt it wasn't safe to fly the plane with a lot of riled up individuals on board then I can't say I blame him. On another note, I know too much about this issue. . . |
