*Kails*: True talk. Short time, deep time, you won't get a man from an ape or a mammal from a fish. *Kails*: Indeed. As seen in imaginary scenarios such as this: "I can see no difficulty in a race of bears being rendered, by natural selection, more aquatic in their structure and habits, with larger and larger mouths, till a creature was produced as monstrous as a whale . . ." - Origin Of The Species (Charles Darwin) *Kails*: I thought it unfair to associate racism with evolution but I found the ape-human sequence suspicious. It always ended with a modern Caucasian. Things like the following make the theory more suspicious. Charles Lee Smith wrote that the objective of Ivanov's Google this for more *Kails*: One hopes he will watch it, and more importantly, attempt to rebut it. *Kails*: Please post links to the videos. I want to watch them. *Kails*: I (and him) would agree he's rebelling, if you mean he is opposed to dogmatism, fanaticism and elements of irrationality in religions. *Kails*: All he'll do is handwave my points with a disparaging comment. |

Logicboy03: Same goes for you. Logicboy03: If you understood basic science, you wouldnt be exposing your ignorance and embarrassing yourself. Like the way you do - confidently. Logicboy03: There is no such thing as "race" in biology when it comes to humans. So claiming that science puts me as a black man closer to apes is silly. We are all humans who descended from ape-like ancestors. There is such a thing as a race. Its meaning now is different from Kails, however, the term persists in biology. Read on Race in Wikipedia |

mantraa: Please watch this video by a 15 year old girl explaining the basic facts of evolution. Its not that difficult to understand. You just need to try to get your head around the vast timescale involved in the process, and remember that 99% of mutations are not beneficial, leading to the fact that 99% of all species that have ever existed are now extinct. However, in a constantly changing environment due to the slow process of continents moving because of plate tectonics, a very small percentage of mutations are advantageus to the new environments and climates and animal ends up in. Over millions of generations this enables natural selection to run its course and species to branch out into new variations, and eventually new species altogether. For example, All humans evolved out of Africa. The species that came out of africa first, Homo erectus are now extinct, as are homo neanderthal, and many other species of hominids whose fossils have been found. Homo Sapiens are the last surviving human specie left due to our intelligence which allowed us to manipulate our environment, create tools, use fire, farm animals and plants, build shelters etc. Your ignorance is so profound its hilarious, your arrogance, laughable to the extent that it is you that desperately requires common sense. You will throw away a book written by ignorant goat herders 3000 years ago, and become a fanatic of a book written 150 years ago with starkly zero evidence of its claims. You will ignore the glaring incongruities in the history of humanity as explained therein. At the same time, the devastating implications of the brevity of recorded human history, will of course be lost on you. The judeo-christian abrahamic faiths are indeed full of many myths and legends, that is a certainty. However I can tell you for free that they contain a far superior thought structure as far as the origin of this world and mankind are concerned, and they also contain far more truth than the Origin of Species does. You will find far more falsehoods within The Origin of Species, than you could find in ten thousand bibles or quorans. |

Logicboy03: Lol. There is this Dean Koontz book I read some years ago. I just cannot remember the name for now. The protagonist was a man with ESP powers and he was an investigator. One day on one of his assignments, he went into the mind of another person and found God. God was a child and this protagonist killed him and ate him and thus became God himself. After becoming God, the woman he loved and respected became useless to him. He still thought she was beautiful but she was incredibly stupid to him and he had no interest in her. To solve this, he had to give her half of his "Godness" so that she could be on his level. Now they both reigned as Gods and they were amused when people set up different religions to worship them. After a few hundred years, they began to make nations war against each other for their entertainment. |

jayriginal: As ridiculous as that story is, it points out a very deep philosophical problem with being God. Why would God make human beings in the first place? Imagine if you had all te power in the world and knew everything, of what use would humans be? To play with as a toy? To watch them fumble as they try to ravel out their origins? God would be a real lonely douchebag to create humans. Or if he is a deist god, he becomes a person- creating the whole world for no reason and then f4cking off. |
Re: Interesting Videos On Evolution/creationism/spirituality; ETC by Nobody: 2:39pm On Jun 10, 2013 |
Deep Sight: How Deepsight shows that he is not a sensible person 1) The theory of evolution is more advanced than Darwin's book (Origin of species). Your use of Darwins book to bash evolution is quite an obsolete, dubious and reductionist path to follow. Darwin researched on species with the tools available to him (he didnt have the modern science we have now). He made some correct observantions and some wrong conclusions. The theory of evolution to day has Genetics and paleontology at its disposal 2) To claim that evolution has zero evidence is even to deny reality. The very fact that you buy flu drugs is proof of evolution. Why not use the anti-bacterial/anti-viral drugs of 10 years ago? The bacteria and viruses have evolved over the years- they have developed resistance to certain drugs and certain harsh environments. The dna evidence for evolution is clear as well. Keep living in ignorance Lets even Go back to Darwin. Darwin studied animals and put his observations down for other to see. His discoveries changed the world. Some were honed and rectified as some of his works were not all correct but the core basis of evolution remained true. Darwin observed and noted. CAN WE SAY THE SAME FOR YOUR ARAB AND JEWISH BRETHREN WHO LIED FROM PAGE ONE OF THEIR HOLY BOOKS? WAS THEIR GOD A RESULT OF OBSERVATION OR A LIE FROM FALSE REVELATIONS? YOU MUST BE FOOLISH TO EVEN COMPARE THE VALIDITY OF EVOLUTION TO THAT OF THE QURAN OR BIBLE. |

Re: Interesting Videos On Evolution/creationism/spirituality; ETC by Nobody: 5:29am On Jun 11, 2013 |
Uyi Iredia: Guy, why are you just silly? Your analogy fails on so many levels. First off, my writing is for communication- to express myself and for people to see. Same with painting- artists paint to express themselves, to communicate their feelings to their fellow man or to make themseleves happy (some people paint because thats what they like) Is God a human being? Who is he communicating to? Why does he need paintings to be happy or to express himself- is he as emotional and mushy on the inside like a sensitive human being? Think before you type nonsense |

Re: Interesting Videos On Evolution/creationism/spirituality; ETC by UyiIredia(m): 2:13am On Jun 12, 2013 |
Logicboy03: It doesn't fail. It makes the point that a creator of an object doesn't always interact with it. There are lots of examples of this. But then this $hithead doesn't see how his logic can also be applied to God, that he, God could have made the universe as an expression of himself. Re: Interesting Videos On Evolution/creationism/spirituality; ETC by Nobody: 8:30pm On Jun 12, 2013 |
Uyi Iredia: What does my point have to do with a creator interacting with his creation? The point is simple; God is not an emotional human being that would have to crate art or mini-me's to express himself to himself |

Uyi Iredia: @ Kails: I'm curious. You say you aren't a Christian. Could you describe your beliefs ? I am just monotheistic. I believe in a creator and i believe he/she designed us to do a job as a species and as individuals. I do not believe one needs to be part of a denomination to know him/her or to love him/her and feel it in return. I do not pray with a congregation...I don't need to. I prefer to meditate... I believe life is not as complicated as we make it. The 3 basic rules of life is to serve him/her, treat others as we want to be treated and to live and let live. simple. 1 Like |

Re: Interesting Videos On Evolution/creationism/spirituality; ETC by Nobody: 2:46pm On Jun 13, 2013 |
Uyi Iredia: i believe there is some truth to all biblical texts tbh. they all seem to have the three basic laws I described in my post as being the real meaning of life. Whether we are talking Islam, X-tinity, Un/Orthodox Judaism, Buddhism; etc you will see how my belief fits with all. Even smaller religions tend to support my view. Due to deliberate distortion of the facts, stories, and lessons by way of flawed translation and simply erasing passages from the different versions of the bible (this continues to happen TODAY)...a lot of people in fact MILLIONS are religious, but still very clueless. The same texts which still have some truths to them are now used for brainwashing. This is why there are countless examples of contradictions in the old/new testaments of the christian bible and even the Qu'ran yet both religions still have gained millions of followers over the years and continue to. Atheists would like to claim that I am a "cherry picker" but anyone with commonsense would know that when you see evidence of distortion of facts, it's just logic to make sense out of the non-sense to get the truth. This is why I said that reasoning and theism go hand in hand. We have lost the way. You don't need to be part of a cult to appreciate God and to appreciate God does not mean you have to rid yourself of common-sense. I feel like I am rambling...Did I answer your question? |
Re: Interesting Videos On Evolution/creationism/spirituality; ETC by UyiIredia(m): 5:30pm On Jun 13, 2013 |
Logicboy03: You snided the deist God for not interacting with the world it made. I pointed out instances of human creators leaving what they made. You asserted other wise and I maintained my point. Now you demean my words. |
Re: Interesting Videos On Evolution/creationism/spirituality; ETC by UyiIredia(m): 6:05pm On Jun 13, 2013 |
*Kails*: Yes. Even Some atheists will agree. See here *Kails*: Yes. There are truths in them. I like the way Hindus accomodate all. Even the Mahabharata (I hope I got it right) contains parts that reminds me of Psalms and describe God as more tolerant of other religions. Funny enough, when my Dad was pagan he belived that every religion was a way of understanding God, when he said this Christians (evangelicals) asserted that it was false and that only Jesus was the way. Even as a Christian, I still opined that my Dad was right. My dad became Christian but I dunno if he still holds this view. Taoism is another philosophy I like. Confucianism too. *Kails*: I think Bible translators pay great attention to detail. I particularly agree with the bolded. Consider this, I once asked my younger brother (a self-described Christian) if he really believed in God. He said he didn't know that he'll find out when he dies. That, and similar instances, made me decide some Christians have simply not given thought to the religion. They just follow it. I also agree the Bible has been used to brainwash people. Actually, that can be done with any book. *Kails*: Okay. *Kails*: The claim cherry-picking applies to all. We all have a bias. Indeed, I think people have been apprehending God before religions evolved. *Kails*: Yes you did. Your rambling helped |
