I stumbled on this thread some weeks ago and it keep me running for 3 weeks to catch with the early runners.

Noticed some days back to continue running I need to subscribe and have been trying to see the motivation behind the idea.

Honestly you are a fantastic writer and a great one to hold a non reader like myself for this long, your stories are intriguing, full of suspense, actions with a lot of lessons. The way you describe Europe in your stories is so real. Your story will make a good block buster movie anytime, any day.

Personally, I don't have any issues subscribing to continue my race in fact I tried and it linked me to paypal confusing me a bit. However I think your subscription move is not sustainable in the long run, what you stand to loose in the long run is more than your short time benefit.

I remember some years back, punch newspaper tried this same strategy but had to change their position when they saw the negative effects of it.

I believe what should be most important to your site for now is how to continuously and consistently build traffic. The more traffic you generate over time, the more attractive it becomes for adverts purpose.

I would rather suggest you consider voluntary contribution option to subscription. You can put a button on the site for voluntary contributions where it's easily seen to generate funds for your site as a short term plan.

Also please stop responding to angry runners in like manner, they have a right to be angry because they are concerned and genuinely want Global runs to succeed just like you.

Remember you are the lead runner here and the boss, the great Ozoigbondu1, if we loose respect for you here as a person, it will indirectly affect the lead character in your story and the story as a whole. Nuff Respect Boss...Salute!

osymerga: Oga Zuby,i suggest you bring it down to #100 per month for now.Let it be this amount for the mean time,after which you can gradually increase it with time. It is of paramount important to generate more traffic to site first before applying such fee.Start small first,and with time you will hit it big,thanks. Shalom

Ask the house mates on our whatsapp group. They see me online at every hour of the night, just because I want my fans to have something to read the next day.

Every Nairaland member suddenly saw the potential of Global Runs making it big because I closed it down for subscription.

I know how the fans feel, trust me I do. But the stress is telling on me.
I decided to live alone since last year just to be able to write.
These are sacrifices I have been making.

If the amount I charged is much, give me suggestions..I will listen and consider, I m no machine.

But for the issue of opening up free, I need a perfect reason to do that.

I intend to pay Maria who has been telling me her story since December.
I promised her that.
I haven't even started writing her story.

I understand your position...it's a cache 22 situation, your site needs to generate funds so as to sustain itself, at the same time the site needs traffic to promote it and make it more popular which is quicker through free subscription.

One possible way out of it in my opinion is through voluntary contribution as I mentioned earlier. If I get a better suggestion later I will let you know.

Meanwhile how do I subscribe using online transfer?

And one of the reasons i made sure i leave a comment weather reasonable or unreasonable in any update is i was of d opinion that each comment attracts a revenue to d online account of the site, so i felt that was my own little ways of appreciating the lead runner. Zuby77, where do u plan to see globalrun in the next 3 years? You said the story can last upto 2 years, what happens after the end of the story? Will it mark the closure of the site? U started copying news like other blogs do, do u plan turning it to be like nairaland(this should attract more comments on each news) or just like ordinary gossip blog? Inasmuch as u are thinking about the present, still bear in mind about the future.
For the subscription, lol, i cant subscribe with my card(u already know the reason), maybe when i am "ready to" subscribe, u will have to do that manually for me. For now, safe journey as u guys run, i will hopefully catch up with an usain bolt speed.

I found this out yesterday and offered to give you free access, you rejected it out of pride and stupidity.
I didn't employ you to teach me how to make money.

Ah! I started using laptop since 2005 back in Germany, so yes I have a lappy.

If you will just calm down, you can make suggestions like others and we the management of Global Runs can reconsider our position.
Don't think this whole thing was my idea alone.
Some people actually suggested that I close down entirely and role out movie series.
But because I m a born again Christian, I refused to starve my self and my fans this wonderful masterpiece.

If we can get a large number of people, willing to pay N1200 a year.. We will open up.
Atleast it will be enough to get us a decent dedicated server and other things we need to keep running.

Our server was getting over loaded. It was the major reason behind the shut down. I don't run contextual ads such as AdSense.

I want less people if you don't know.
You can wait for the books to be released in a year or so.

But if you must expect me to keep writing every single day, you must spare some change for the project . I pay for ebooks online all the time



And trust me..This story is just at the beginning.
When I said it last year, people thought I was joking.
