I think he is wrong by dumping them in Onitsha. But there is no sane Modern society where beggars and Vagrants are allowed to wander the street anyhow.if those guys have something serious they are doing in lagos no matter how small or even conduct their life in a civil way even if they are not doing anything yet, entering a bus and going back to lagos will not be a big issue.I`m from Anambra not trying to side with Fashola but the obvious fact is that there is no big issue in that .

What an incomplete corespondence,
why do we have "fashola replies obi..." on the front page without first seeing obi's reaction to the incidence on the front page? to me it left a lot to be desired.
Lets get the precedence right before commenting.

That's why I call you betrayers. Why did fas*eun suddenly turn to Al mustap*ha's ADC as soon as he was released from prison if not to get hypocritic attention from the north. Why didn't he escort him to meet Asari Dokubo? Mek I tell u, one day, breeze go blow and fowl nyash go open undecided

First off, I remember you came on me so strong sometimes in 2012 when I viciously attacked these same folks (Ibos) you just wrote about.
Anyway, that being said, I share in your frustration. That's exactly why I've been crusading for so long on nairaland against the Ibos. Your observation concerning "pseudo-sophistication" facade that some docile Yoruba people are putting up is well-taken. However, personally, I blame Christianity as a religion for the complacency of our people. I know, from the point-of-view of a Muslim, this assertion may not go down well with you and other Yoruba Christians. You see, the Yoruba Christians are do fanatical, emotional, and narrow-minded when it comes to their faith. The dangerous influx of the Ibos to our Yorubaland was necessitated and perverted and even encouraged by the subtle complacency of the Yoruba Christians. Anytime there is the need for us to move against the Eastern foreigners, fellow Yoruba who happen to be Christian will readily come to their rescue. They're the ones that always come to an illogical conclusion of: "ah, leave these people alone now. After all, they're not sitting on your head!" And this their bullcrap is predicated upon only one thing -- religion. I am from Ibadan -- and growing up in Ibadan was fun. There were no Ibos conspicuous enough to be seen anywhere in Ibadan. It was only the Hausa/Fulani wayfarers that were ubiquitously abound. And we loved it that way. Then after the war, the Ibos all left their Eastern abode en masse, and inundated us with such an unrelenting mass exodus of their people. It was mind-boggling for want of a better word. Look at Ibadan today! I mean - it's an eyesore. Ibo folks full ground well well. Our people actually wanted to do something about this anomaly before it went out of hand, but our fellow Yoruba who happen to be Christian (whether myopically or ignorantly) failed to see the looming danger until it became an albatross on our neck. The Ibos are so smart -- they studied our way of life, learnt our language (Ibos even speak fluent Yoruba better than some idiotic Yoruba who have given in to the "pseudo-sophistication" mentality), imbibed our culture, ate and perfected the preparation of our foods even though they hypocritically deride us as "oily soup ones", took advantage of our sound and free educational scheme. But, in the end, the Biafrans will still insult us and call us cowards for accommodating them and not slaughtering them like the Hausa/Fulani do to them in the North. You all know that the Ibos respect the Mallams up North! It's no longer secret that the reason that the Ibos are scared of the Mallams is because they butcher and roast them (Ibos) like suya. Yoruba are I inappropriately tagged cowards because we don't maim and kill them. Just like Louis Farrakhan opined that the white man only respects the black man when the black man becomes violent and meets force with force. The same thing is true here: the Ibos will only respect the Yoruba (Ibos' benefactors and hosts) when and only when we are ready to violently rail on them without the ridiculous interference from the hypocritical Yoruba Christians. My five cents.
cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry these two post really break my hear as a human being cry cry may God/ Allah comfort your heart and your spirit holding this type of hate in your heart is dangerous to your health, spirit and progress! dangiwa09: When Obasanjo was president, the only people he could trust to run the country were Igbos (Andy Uba, Charles Soludo, Oby Ezekwesili, Mr. Nweke, Okonjo Iweala etc), it was for a reason. The only people he could trust are Igbos, the only people he knew that'll work hard and honestly, and produce results were igbos, he knew yorubas are more interested in free money without work, in making loud and empty noise, in fornicating. He tried bode George, well, we know how that ended, lets not talk about how bola ige ended up. Yorubas are known world-wide for making noise, owambe, fornication, beating their women, incest etc. They're the wimps of Africa, no courage, no backbone, no principle, even opc leaders are now dinning with Al Mustapha.
son honestly these people move with anyone that is making money it's the powerless against the powerful please let's not get it twisted the leaders are wasting tax dollars in foreign lands while are here challenging each other. My Dear is Tis really making you happy?

breezy047:

If you take the word 'Deport' out of the picture for a minute you would understand what Fashola intended. . .

The new law says NO BEGGER ON THE HIGHWAYS AND RESTRICTED AREAS. . .yet these ones were caught. So what would you have the LASG do?
Arrest them, Charge them to court, try them and send them to jail for breaking the law?

Was it not better HE assisted them with transportation to their homeland where there 'business' isn't a crime yet?

I'm sure the beggers would be happy with Fashola for 'sparing' them in that manner when they could be rotting in jail by now.

I don't care what the new law says the main point here is that he picked people from the street, locked them up and finally dumped them in an unknown place in the dead of the night like a criminal. Did you put the through trial before you jailed them ? Where does the constitution state you can pick people from the street and deport them ? Is lagos a sovereign nation ? Speak the truth for once,Fashola has commited a crime against the Nigerian state and must/should be punished to the full extent of the law!

Exactly, before we pounce on them a la Boko Haram. But we still need to be very careful -- these Ibo folks' ambition is devilish. You can see it written on their foreheads. They want to take over the Yorubaland. They make no bones about it -- it's been their modus operandi from the get go. That's the reason why their forefather, eleti gbogada Nnamdi Azikiwe, left his accursed Ibo cave to contest an election for the position of the First Indigenous Prime Minister in our Western Region. Just imagine that charade - an Ibo man from the East coming to become the first Premier in the West? These Ibo people are the most dangerous in Africa! I think we need to wake up and smell the coffee; it's time we eschewed the "pseudo-sophistication," in @shymex's word. General Benjamin Adekunle's biafran era phrase readily comes to mind: "...Sorry, but, I have to kill the Ibos."

but the truth is they will all meet and pop champagne and laugh about it in the end, while we sit here with poor infrastructure complaining about what these thieves are turning our countries into. I know they read these threads and they are distracting us with nonsense. My own Governor paid cash money for a super complex in Abuja and nobody gives a damn or thought to question where and why did he pay billions of NGN in cash ooo. First he was suing a sitting Gov. Jona Jang, who enjoys constitutional immunity. Next he was begging to withdraw the case from court and before we could say Fashio!!!, he had started his mid-night deportation of Nigerians(who have constitutional right to reside in any part of Nigeria) from Lagos to Onitsha. Is this man really a SAN?
