1.5 billion a ship, that's expensive. I have a feeling we would look at for a Sigma Frigate, I don't think we would go Chinese with a Frigate.

My opinion though. However 4 FACs should be in the cards to replace our Combattante class which are being converted to OPVs.

1,5 Billion for 4.

$380 million per ship

The latest gen of German frigates are, $1 billion a peice though

I'm guessing it's OAS, because they share same apron with naval air wing in PHC most times and mostly fly dauphins

What impresses me about South African special forces is that their pics/faces/weapons are not splashed around on the net. Sign of professional soldiers & of a system that understands the basic need for secrecy. This is not to take away from others who post pics....i guess the operational cultures are different.

I know the crew of NNS Okpabana train with dummy C-8s, i didn't think they'll go through with it. I always hoped they'll get additional CTARs.

As long as the names of the operators are not known, i don't see any problem. The Nigerian military high command releases Special Forces photos with operators faces in full glare.

We are in an operational environment, yet we haven't had any incidence. So i don't see any problems with that.

Here are typical images from the Military (Air Force, Navy & Army).

You Special Forces not showing their faces or weapons online holds no bounds on professionalism. It does not make the South-African Recces a professional unit. That argument is nonsensical and holds no grounds in fact or operational efficiency

Some South-Africans would be making clearly ignorant and poorly informed comments that have no bearing in reality.

American Commandos, likely Navy Seals and Delta operators in Syria with their faces and weapons clearly visible.

I guess i am the only person seeing the faces of these Americans. Only a dumb people equate visible faces with professionalism.

Don't catch feelings...in the special forces community a face is more than enough info if someone is looking for you. Especially if units are known. And by the way Nigerian special forces are not the only ones with pics here, so don't take it personally.

Professional in the sense that there a clear rules regarding such, and rules are being followed. No SA special forces post selfies, reveal weapons and vehicles. e.g Motar system on Hornets was seen publicly this year at Arms forces day, before that, who knows how long its been in service. Rumours of SA special forces looking at anti aircraft capability....R500 for anyone who can say what that system even looks like.

egypt is not only facing the threat of ISIS in sinai but another terrorist group calling itself Hasam Movement.which has carried assassinations, bombings of Egypt security members and government officials

A new Egyptian armed group, the Hasam Movement, has claimed responsibility for the killing of a police officer in the country's north.

Armed men shot Gamal al-Deeb, a policeman working with the Homeland Security agency, eight times outside his home in Egypt's Beheira province shortly after midnight, the interior ministry said on Saturday.

He died of a bullet to the head.

"The Hasam Movement's assassination squad has carried out the field execution of the hardened criminal Gamal al-Deeb who committed his crimes in all ages," the group said in a statement on social media.

There are thousands & thousands of U.S special forces. Navy Seals have always been hollywood boys. Show us pics/faces of " Seal Team 6" please...i'll wait. African militaries are much smaller & hence their special forces. For their specialist roles, they dont seem to take operational security seriously.

And NO those U.S special forces guys are not clearly visible. Infact they all look the same. Would you be able to identify them when mingling in the street? As opposed to Africans (and others) who post selfies on Insta? Please

And how did you arrive at the conclusion that the Nigerian special forces guys in the pictures are part of the elite team? By elite team I mean Nigeria's equivalence of Seal team 6.

Before you ask if they do exist, ask any nigerian about Sgt. Rogers.

When you make an ignorant comment, i'm more than obliged to educate you. World Armies page on Flickr has photos of South-African Hornets with the MRLS and Mortar system. Go check out the page. Nothing secret about that.

The South-African Commando on Instagram who wants to scale 7 of the world's highest peaks has his photos clearly splashed all over instagram. If I decide to search for South-African commandos, including your Parabats, I'm sure i'll see enough photos.

Don't pass off ignorant comments just to feel full of yourself.

I have never seen pics of Devgru, Delta or SAD

Green Berets, SEALs and MARSOC are not *that* elite by US operator standards.

MRLS has been seen for years, hence i didn't mention it. I'm genuinely interested in seeing Hornet Mortar pics from before this year, again, I'll wait. Not saying there wasn't even one pic available, but it was not seen and posted publicly willy nilly.

Look how you mention that one guy, doing something clearly worth mentioning (climbing 7 peaks). Kindly tell me what to search on insta
for me to find him, I want to see all the juicy pics he posts. Yes please post your most juicy SA Special Forces pics here, thanks.

You keep deciding to jump in on my posts. So please, show us SA special forces pics.
