I think mine was about 6 months, it would have been less than that if not that the remuneration was very poor. So one day I decided to settle for one of the poor paying jobs the remuneration was #40,000 (just #5000 more than what I earned while serving). Worked for 2 months and was not happy. Left the place a went back to school. Just after 3 months I left there the company went bankrupt. I still don't earn any better now because I'm working with one of the ministries of Imo State. I believe with time, I can grow on the job |

I started applying for jobs immediately I started NYSC. after some months of frustration, I got a well paying job as an Editor with a popular internet newspaper in Nigeria. I am well paid and I work from anywhere I am. Just yesterday, I got a DREAM job with one of Nigeria's top law firms. I will keep the two jobs and maximise my time and the money. I am stil serving with 2 months to go. 2 Likes |

just got one last month after two years, but even through does months of serious strugles i never lost hope,for i know for sure that all things work together for good to them that love God, try and work with him and confirm for your self what he can do, even with hopless situation. |

Mine was divine grace, I served in Ebonyi in 2007/2008. I got a job in telecoms 2 months to the completion of nysc. A polytechnic graduate (lower credit) with no connection, God showed me favour. Its been 5years of career growth and God is forever faithful. Am using my story to encourage every job seeker, God will surprise you... 6 Likes |

About three months really cos I gave birth before P.O.P in June. So I had to stay home for the 40days rest. Counting from July, its just about three months. God favoured me. |

I was fortunate I finished my service while still doing another degree. However, upon completion of my 2nd degree, I got a job 6weeks after I got home. For most part of the 6weeks, I was back in school so I never felt so much pressure. Indeed, it was God and He alone has been my sustainer. |

I finish June 6th, decided to use the rest of jun to rest. Submit C.v wit one New coy in Enugu on 1st July (the only c.v submitted). Call for an Oral Interview for post of Account Offisha on July 6th. Computer Base interview on July 13th. Got connected wit a staff of the coy who confirmed that I'm the best for the job. That they are creating my offish which would need computer system. On each interview they always tell me we will communicate you. The next thing I hard from my informant was that one of their marketing staffs went to manager and hijacked the post. I went to their chief accountant, who kept telling me that they are preparing my office... Funny. All this while I've been preparing my self for my new job, buying black trousers(de coy has Uniform) shoes, singlets. Hoping on them I never bother to share my C.v. Its now over 2months. |

Served in Lagos 12B...had so many aptitude tests n interviews(Failed a couple of them  ).Got the job 2 weeks after Nysc as a Maintenance & Reliability Engr in a Reputable firm  .1.Develop your skills 2.Apply,Apply,Apply 3.Pray to God Surely it will happen.These worked for me. 2 Likes |

I will say mine was God showing me his faithfulness and testing my faith. I couldn't secure a job despite having a 2:1 and passing several tests, i was still dropped at different stages of the recruitment process. I eventually settled for a contract job at an insurance company for a little sum doing what i did nt study n school, i was so unhappy and depressed. I continued with my professional exams which my salary could not even pay for. By the grace of God, i secured a partly funded private scholarship to undergo my masters abroad. Fastforward to the end of my masters i made a distinction and though still scared, I decided to come back to Nigeria cos i don't believe everyones destiny lies abroad. I came back home now filled with more faith and confidence which came about through prayers. I still got some rejections but after 6/7 mths, i got 3 job offers from a bank and two of the big 4 accounting firms. My advice is pray, engage in church activities if you are jobless( God rewards), always smile and be confident during interviews. One secret i used for all the jobs i secured, when i enter into the company building, despite my preparation i go to the restroom and pray again inviting the holy spirit to go with me and asking God to grant me favour.Best of luck. Grads especially with lower.lol Funny enough i got my job through Nairaland last month after so much socialization and networking. I stayed 5 months after NYSC home doing some online biz (not wat u fink o). I am happy cos it is what i like doing but the trade-off is my salary. Still hoping for the best anyways. I keep wondering about some job that pays so well but no happiness and satisfaction, while some with happiness and satisfaction but lesser pay. Career satisfaction or a Good pay  ?I guess in the long run career satisfaction pays. |

13 months b4 i got a teaching job, where i taught 30 periods per week and handled 4 different lesson notes. While at d school, i saw my DISMISSAL staring at me because i decided not to take part in exam malpractice, which is what d school is known for. As d dismissal date (which is waec exam) approached, God gave me a civil service job which i'm managing now. I was with them for abt 6 months b4 my present engagement. FINAL WHISTLE It only took my babe 3 months to port but now she wants to come back cos she's not enjoying her marriage 2 Likes |

The truth is that it aint everybody that wanna be an entrepreneur or watever its called. I studied engineering for a reason... The passion for it. I wanna practice engineering, and most part of it will require me work in teams with fellow engineers. Now I'm done with sch with a good grade, done with NYSC and hope to start wit a small engrn firm and grow from there. So for me, starting up a business won't work for now. Don't even have that kinda capital anyway. Creating jobs is good, but nobody should over stress it! D govt should stop covering their mess and using entrepreneurship as a facade. Do u know that if d ministry of works shud stand up to their responsibility they wud absorb more than 1/4 of our graduate engineers and technicians? Instead they are busy carting away billions of naira from ghost projects and workers. To those dat wana create jobs, kudos! To those dat r searching for the available jobs, kudos!
