jt2010: You are very right on this. At the initial entry level most of us don't pay attention, especially those people that use agent. They give one information the agent writes something else may be because your writing is not clear. If you are a lucky winner you have the grace to correct the error when you are returning the form that come with you congratulatory message. 1 Like |

onatisi: As somebody pointed out, this thing involve 3 stages. The initial entry, at that point you are only filling the form with your passport. If u are a winner, you will have the form that come with your congratulatory message. At that point any error is dangerous especially your name and DOB. 1 Like |

jt2010:Not your DOB. Stop running on fallacy of subjective experience. We have provided I with DV lottery rules and conditions - which are authentic and empirical, but u are still insisting that your OWN subjective experience trumps DV rules. It's ur Naija mentality of arguing that ur subjective experience is better than DV stated rules that you should be mad at. |

adconline: Don't condem this guy, we all experience different things. The rule you are talking about may be recent. In 2006, I experience this thing because of real age and official age mentality. I couldn't even remember the age I gave, but the reality stage is when you are filling e-dv entry because what ever is on that form is what will be forwarded to the Nigeria embassy and you need to have document to back up what ever on that form. 2 Likes |

You guys should stop this argument, you can actually change your dob when u are about sending your DSP form to kcc. Read from page one to d last page of dv 2014 thread to get what we are saying. 1 Like |

justwise:You can make changes by sending the corrected part by sending it back to LCC before you case is treated or before you become current.( get an interview date.) 1 Like |

Re: Abandoning Nigeria's Good Life For The Us,its A Blessing If.... by justwise(m): 6:34am On Oct 16, 2014 |
samolaniyi: No you can't and it's clearly stated on their website, if you want to make any change during your interview the VO has the right to decide that. Everything I said above is clearly stated on the website, will you bother to read it? I doubt. |

justwise:Rules can be bend a little, they are not all that rigid because they know that people sometimes makes a honest mistake.mind you, experience as they say is d best teacher jigga and d rest on Dv 2014 thread knows this.Initially I believed that once an entry has been made for dv lottery, no changes can be made after been selected, but we were wrong when we found out that some people were granted visa after they filled for changes on there form st kcc. The bottom line is that certain changes can be made on your form in as much ad u have a valid and genuine document to back it up. Especially, errors in names, dob, and address . I know egoistic attributes in some people will not allow them to accept a simple truth, they see every other people as criminal, liars, fraudsters and imposter. As I mentioned before go through dv2014 thread and see the or interview experience, then you will know what Jigga was trying to explain. 2 Likes |

samolaniyi: I believe in facts and not cock and bull stories about 3rd party experience that can not be verified. Give me a link in that thread where somebody was about to change DOB after winning. There is nothing like rule bending here, we are discussing about legitimate way of doing things, i know many of you are struggling to understand this because you are used to bending rules and using short cuts. Just in case you are still struggling to get this....this abstract is from official visa lottery website: If you have already made an error and you are selected for the program, then the consular officer who is going to interview will decide about it on the day of the interview. Some time if the KCC finds out that your online submitted entry details didn't match with your details in the visa application form, you may not get the visa interview letter. |
Re: Abandoning Nigeria's Good Life For The Us,its A Blessing If.... by justwise(m): 8:23am On Oct 16, 2014 |
LFJ: I take that as a reasonable line of argument rather than pointless denial of facts. It could be that 8yrs ago as you said that change of DOB or name is allowed but as you can see from evidence provided its not allowed now. 1 Like |

justwise:Justwise, u can change anything but ur photo. Sometimes, the pix requirements won't just make sense...like an old photo on the ground can get u selected. Agents go to any lengths to play for pple because they know the good news means sth to u and in turn they get sth. Embassy frowns against them merging couple for money...paying them is not embassy's problem... and that is y at d interview day, the VO may ask u ....did u play urself? At a point, that VO acknowledged d good work agents do...many pple don't play if not for agents and he could totally be a stranger. Embassy frowns at not including existing pple like kids, adopted ones and spouses. Some pple don't even believe they will be selected ...when that happens, confusion and denials follow for married pple who entered single or married couple who don't know themselves or forged marriages...while some 'wise' ones continue unmmaried...problem comes when they wanna bring relatives over or adjust status for citizenship. The StSteven and other cases make u not to believe... I understand that but that Chicago guy and others are right. Us don't care much on ur DOB until u land... they know we lie and have learnt to live with it. But what benefit will a 30yr-old gain saying he is 25 on the lottery that 100yr-olds are invited to enter? Pple lie still...not knowing the need.. because it is our blood now or an agent imagined wrong info. Now they wanna put d correct ones to save them some explanations. That woman that pmed VO was real...her pal entered for them but omitted one of her kids and that cost them d visas...if they had not bothered on including the omitted kid in their ds260 forms...visas would have been given. The omitted kid left in Nigeria. It is crazy...honest pple pay for little mistakes when the mistakes are unpardonable... u know she said she wldn't have mistakenly or knowingly omit her kid when she included her in their b1/b2 visa application. However, VO couldn't and should entertain that...the law was stricter than nothing. That Chicago guy has tried. Dv lottery is luck until u get into d US...pple who just realized they have adopted kids...came back and had their visa canceled. Pple with O'level that is supposed to be d minimum qualification got denied. A lot depends on how u have made ourselves to be perceived, the madness to get out which comes from bad leadership and lack of information make little things overlooked elsewhere aren't here. I didn't win but was selected in 2012 but the result was rescinded after 13 days and we lost the class action. However, I had applied and some won..pple began seeing my keyboard as the magic one. Some pple didn't believe entry was meant to be free...they wanna pay big money to associate seriousness to the pass to the US. Had hard times making folks to play right. I will be good in Canada next year. I'm working on it. I need to feel the outside world... OMG ..I have got an early exam! 1 Like |
