OLASS, where boys used to catch girls on LIT day. We used to prefer OLASS girls to AGGS, our supposed female version, to spite them. I rocked ijebu-ode no be small....

Op, apology again, just making light the tension in here.

No news yet. Still on it. I just sent an email to the VC now explaining my situation to him and also appealing to him to help reopen the portal so that I can be able to make the payment. I also include the link to this thread in my email to him. All I need now is prayer for him to change his mind and reopen the portal.

I was really in tears in my office going through this thread guys, but I must confess that this thread has once again reassured me of the future of Nigeria. Really appreciate everyone involve in this and the almighty God/Allah/Eledumare will continue to provide for all your needs. And for fineboy you are destined to be great that is why you are going through this, but one day you will be in a position to help please never hesitate. And to Nigerian in Diaspora always be ready to help in genuine cases like this 50-60 USD isn't much for us,I believe by so doing we are making Nigeria a safer place to go with friends & colleagues for vacation/summer without nursing any fear.

This is so touching. Am so glad the op was able to raise enough funding. God bless everyone who has contributed in this. Will also pray that the portal will soon be open.

I feel so touched and concerned when i came across this thread and i feel like crying sad. I would have support as well but the said fund has been covered, thanks to those that helped financially and morally. I think Seun should create a new section for "Help/Donation" cause there are lot of people out there struggling from such thing and let us be our brother's keeper.

Nice idea.. something like a kickstarter concept and thus requires a framework to prevent abuse

Not easy to implement here in naija tho but a nice idea

Of course it will be a difficult task from the beginning but i believed there are still lot of Nairalanders who still has a good heart and positive thinking.

Seun kindly look into this and open a thread for ideas.

Nigerians in diaspora do do their fair bit to humanitarian needs here on nairaland. It isn't until the donation is in £s or $s. I for one speak for myself

Update -
I got a mail yesterday from OP. He said the payment portal was opened two days ago for 200 and 300 level students only. OP is on 400 levels though.

Its likely that soon, the portal would be open for 400 level students.

I'd suggest the funds is transferred to the op, even if the portal isn't opened yet. My ideas of giving is when you give you give with trust. I believe the ops head is screwed up enough not to misappropriate the funds raised.

Please the 2 posts above seem to be contradictory.
You said the portal will be accessible this week for registration, right? If yes, then let us wait till Friday
