This threads made memory seep thru my veins... Back in those days it was joy reading our textbooks, I remember we used to craft toys with our hands with raw materials from the environment... Nowadays I don't see kids do that anymore, they are glued to the screens. I'd say we stood up and made things happen while now they sit down and watch things happen. 1 Like |

mrgreen4real: MR ALABI AND THE STOBBURN GOAT. Alabi had lost six goats to a wolf on a mountain. I remember a poem MR NOBODY " I knw a funny little man lol @ Mr Alabi's beautiful goat, "she cries meee....everyday cos she's unhappy" Mr Nobody I know a funny little man as quite as a mouse, who does the mischief that is done in everybdy's house. There's no one ever sees his face but yet we all agree, tis he who pulls the buttons from our shirts and make the carpet soil, he put damp woods in the fire so kettles cannot boil.... Railway Children by the railway dancing round, ...cars by the railway.... Can't rember the title if this one though... Down by the river side the green grass grows. There sits nene washing her clothes, she sings so sweet. Playmates won't you come for tea? Come next sunday at half past three. Tea cakes, pan cakes everything you'd see... Those sweet memories...lol 1 Like |

In my days it was New Oxford English Course (NOEC) from Pry 1-6. This passage readily comes to mind: Mr. Giwa is a trader. He has a store in David's village. His store is full of things to sell. He sells knives, soap, etc. One day, Mrs. Mary went to Mr. Giwa's shop. (End of first passage, then questions will follow). |
