Any time we hear ban, the question that suppose to come to our minds is whether Govt is making provision for alternative before such items should be banned. The irony of it all is that those products that are been banned are daily items used day to day, which after the so called ban will still be found in the market with triple the initial cost prize.

The most important problem we are having in Nigeria is corruption, in the sense that those said banned goods will still be crossing through our borders and sea ports provided you knows how to go about them.

Indeed Nigeria needs to be liberated.
May God help us.

I thinks its an excellent idea, perhaps more than most people realise, 3 simple reasons

1. 150million angry Nigerians, leading to a situation where the government would have to actually provide power to survive politically, leading to government taking a serious stance, leading to motivation for power contracts to actually be carried out

2. Influential people would have no alternatives, motivation to exert influence to ensure power supply

3. Beneficiaries of Generator and diesel importation would lose the motivation to vandalise and suppress government efforts to provide power

Thank God some people are using their brains now.

Generator should have been banned long before now.
I read somewhere that Nigeria is the biggest importer of generators, no matter the size.

Go and take a good look at the owners of these big generator companies. Retired Military people, Politicians, Government officials etc.

Is it not obvious to all by now that there is a cartel frustrating power generation in this country?
If there is constant power, the generator importers will not sell, the importers of fuel will not sell quickly enough and so on. So naturally, no body wants to lose his source of income.

They will do ALL THEY CAN to make sure power does not flow regularly.

By the time we are all thrown into darkness there will be a DRASTIC SOLUTION.

I think generator importation in Egypt or so is a capital offense. Viewed as economic sabotage.

Until such a drastic measure is taken in Nigeria we may continue to remain in DARKNESS.

Esss:
They banned chicken, we said nothing

They banned toilet roll we did nothing

They banned okrika (fairly used clothes), we acted like we did not notice

Now they want to ban generator, Hah!! the contry will go on strike be that o!!

Nigeria without generator?? even mr. president no go gree this one. Banks will fail, man-power output will drop, yawa go too much.

Simply put, its not do able.

it is not enough to ban this and that by the government
government should create enabling environment for us to look inward
support research into how to make some of these things here
e.g. toothpick, matches etc
