they don't have to kill the wife, but would kill the camera man that has no respect for baba while doing his thnag. You really think it's that easy to kill someone? That's by the way because the whow definitely will concentrate on regular Joes and not ministers and senators because those ones have special security anyway. |

DeepZone: 18th century me ass. . . . . . What is Nuhu Ribadu facing these days? U would be surprised ur TV program victims would drop a dead body in ur backyard and call the cops to DO u for MURDER. By the time u spend 3 years in Kirri-Kirri without a trial, u would be forced to withdraw ur sillyness. In a jungle like Nigeria, anything goes. Even the average Joe has got connections somewhere. U will never know WHO IS WHO!!! |

Re: Do We Need A TV Show To Discourage Men Who Cheat? by NegroNtns(m): 8:54pm On Aug 08, 2008 |
Deep, Theoretically, your idea is not bad, what is ugly is implementing it in Naija! You made reference to fighting crime. Let me tell you this, any society where 6 out of every 10 persons is a criminal is never ever going to succeed in any attempt to control crime. Where is the result of war on drug? How about war on guns? War on violence? The problem is the policy, not the society. For behavioral control in the society, it is stupid to commercialize your policy. This is exactly what you are proposing with the idea of cheaters TV. As you have seen from respondents already you will create a dramatic scene wit far fetched outcomes, your "war on cheaters" will be a mess, ; and oh guess who will be coming in the footsteps of that, ; Jerrry Springer! Deepzone, you aretrying so much to turn Nigeria into America or UK, arent you? |
Re: Do We Need A TV Show To Discourage Men Who Cheat? by ssRhino: 8:57pm On Aug 08, 2008 |
Negro_Ntns: isnt that a lil on the exagiting side? |
Re: Do We Need A TV Show To Discourage Men Who Cheat? by DeepZone: 9:07pm On Aug 08, 2008 |
Deep, Not really, If I was doing that, i should also advocate for the ills dominant in this society besides, I believe that more crimes are commited in America per sq m than Nigeria. Much as i agree that so many problems will come out from the TV show, i still believe that Nigeria is among the fastest society that evolves with little time and monogamy seems to be outsourcing polygamy today. With that notion, it means that in 10 years time, southern Nigeria will more or less reinstate the efficacy of monogamous relations. Check this out, younger Nigerian couples are not having the usual 6-7-8 kids our parents had, why? They are having 2-3 nowadays, why is that? Ibos and other south southerners in the 21st century are predominantly monogamous prolly because of religion or what not and the Yorubas are taking queue and with time, polygamy will be old fashioned. You have seen recent cases of women challenging their husbands at the divorce court in todays Nigeria, what happened to the old culture of the man telling the woman to pack her belongings and leave? I think it boils down to economic strength, the more women get educated and garner economic strength, the more they can stand before their husband and demand for respect without the fear of being thrown out. |
Re: Do We Need A TV Show To Discourage Men Who Cheat? by ssRhino: 9:11pm On Aug 08, 2008 |
DeepZone: I think respect is earn and no need to be demanded. |
Re: Do We Need A TV Show To Discourage Men Who Cheat? by Sisikill: 9:12pm On Aug 08, 2008 |
Yep, because it's done wonders with American Men. Why, there's hardly any cheating anymore. In fact, Oprah dedicated an entire show on this issue. Who woulda thunk. . . Television, The Secret Cure for Societal ills. What next - TV to discourage Murder? TV to Discourage Teen Pregnancy? TV to Discourage Drug Use? Whoa! The Possibilities are endless! Utopia here we come!! |
Re: Do We Need A TV Show To Discourage Men Who Cheat? by kojeiwa(m): 9:15pm On Aug 08, 2008 |
I think women cheat the most, they just happen to be so good at it that they are hardly caught. |

I don't think you can use Lagos, Abuja and bout three other big cities to describe Nigeria In some places like Ijesha, having only one wife places you lower than a Nigerian that cannot afford to live comfortably |
Re: Do We Need A TV Show To Discourage Men Who Cheat? by onyinye2(f): 9:21pm On Aug 08, 2008 |
@post I doubt a tv show like Cheaters: Naija Edition, will help anything. I mean how many shows have they had on the fraud and scams that go on in Naija, yet it continues to happen. So it will only be there for entertainment, but as a solution, FORGET IT. |
Re: Do We Need A TV Show To Discourage Men Who Cheat? by Hannibal: 9:23pm On Aug 08, 2008 |

Oh my goodness! Seriously? We cannot discourage men from cheating if they are bent on increasing their home run scores. I think we need tv shows with less seduction. TV shows will not help all that much. |
