Verstappen made it look too easy. Impressive from Hamilton to wind up 2nd. These other guys really aren't a threat. And it's not just the car either else Perez would be up in front with him

Perez wasnt in front of the rest because he is making too many silly mistakes in quali etc (because he cant take the pressure) ... and by the time he has any chance to make a decent move on top cars, his tyres are gone... but when he gets his shiit together, he can even drive that rocketship almost as fast as Verstappen.

It's F1. Most drivers are on the team because someone is paying for them to be there.
Well this one hits different when your dad owns the team. Job security is 1000%

Mehh. Perez seems like a specialist/street circuit guy. On conventional tracks he's usually a step behind.

I just think it's Max's turn to dominate now. Let's enjoy it with open mind and be easy with the hyperbole.

It wasn't rocketship when Mercedes were Champions 7 years straight

every so often, someone makes a great car and have the perfect driver to take it to "rocketship status", ....RBR with Vettel was such time, Mercs with Hamilton was such time, and now RBR with Max is such time again.

BTW Monaco is a street circuit and Perez was nowhere to be seen (thanks to his falling under pressure antics).

If Lance was not reasonably competent I doubt his father would waste his money, and if Lance was no good, no amount of father's money would keep him in F1 for long as good engineers et al would refuse to work for the joke the team would become and his father's money and patience would likely soon run out unless he too is incompetent at counting his own money, though he'd still have accountants and advisers.

I don't quite see a problem here. Most of us would love our parents to be like Lance's parent, trusting us and investing in us as his does, and if the team were not making his father money (or other forms of satisfaction) I'm certain he'd spend his money elsewhere.

Read about Lawrence Stroll. You'd find he has a brain that works well.

And Schumacher at Benetton and later at Ferrari was such "great car..... perfect driver", as was Alonso at Benetton, and Hakkinen and Prost and Senna at McLaren. It's not alway great car though, as the likes of Piquet and Schumacher winning in multiple cars might suggest,

true....sometimes the driver's amazing skills turn that car into a rocketship.

I didn't say it's a problem. I'm just being honest. Stroll in any other circumstances based on performances will not be on a roster if his dad didn't own a team

Mind you I have nothing against a nepotism baby. The goal is to have enough so I can also practice nepotism for my seed.

He's an ok driver but on merit no chance he's on a roster if his dad didn't own Aston Martin team.

I think on merit you might have to eliminate a few other drivers before you get to eliminate Lance. He is 8th in the championship, so about 12 with lesser performance would be eliminated from F1 before him. His father is not the one driving his son's Aston Martin afterall, and before his father owned a team, Lance was in F1, albeit as a pay driver.

Lance Stroll's prior Championship wins are listed below, and by all accounts show he is a reasonably competent driver worthy of being in F1 as many with less achievements are on the grid.

Really sweet seeing Alonso and Hamilton go at it.

I will be honest I will like to see Alonso with a competitive car next season.

Props to Super Max again. He looks imperious with each passing race, tying Senna's record at 25 is crazy to me. I know there are a lot more races now which is why I don't like comparing eras at all but at the time these records were set if they told you it would be passed so early you wouldn't believe it.

Schumacher's 91 didn't even seem real at the time

Just an observation, considering how much noise he puts up with driving. Wish he wouldn't moan so much too, by the way.

Legendary driver but he can be such a diva sometimes. I mean most F1 drivers are but his own is just extra

Seems like Ricciardo is joining Alpha Tauri for the rest of the year

Maybe it's time to put some pressure on Sergio Perez. He's been faffing about too much. If not for Verstappen being so dominant the Constructor's title would have been under some threat

Riccardo actually would be a threat to Sergio, since the Bulls do have a reputation of switching drivers a la Gasly Toro Rosso and back.

Super Max with another masterclass.

Guess you'd day that since the Mercs were not the rocketship they were yesterday despite Hamilton's "amazing skills".

Albion was awesome, and we get to see Ricardo's progression. Then there's the Bulls amazing consecutive wins record held by McLaren since 88.

I have to say, it's not F1. Though the entire day was much fun, the race itself got almost washed out by the rain which dampened enthusiasm by the end.
