Angry Kenya music fans took to Twitter to protest over Nigerian songs played on the Radio

The discussion started after Khaligraph Jones a Kenyan rapper promised to take 10 Kenyan media personalities and fansto Nigeria in an all expense paid trip to see if they really have fans there.


A number of Kenyan artists chimed in on the matter including Naiboi and Vivian who also wanted to contribute to send more presenters to Nigeria.

Popular radio presenter Jalango weighed in on Khaligraph Jones observations saying ‘@khaligraph_jones is planning a trip for presenters and media personalities to NAIJA to see if they have fans there since we play too much Naija and soon the next trip will be to bongo! Yes we don’t have fans there but before you start blaming us! Did you know that presenters don’t even choose music played on Radio and if they do they have very little say on what goes on air? No you dint! Before music is scheduled on Radio it is researched on and all we do is play !

Nigerian Music lovers allover the world are still yet to understand why popular musician Duncan Mighty prostrated himself for Davido, who was on a recent visit to Port Harcourt , Nigeria.

After Duncan Mighty shared the video of him bowing to Davido on his Instagram page, the 34-year-old was criticised for belittling himself before a 25-year-old singer , who met him in the music industry.

In the video, Duncan Mighty appreciated Davido for doing a collaboration with him, saying the new song would open up the entire Niger Delta region and set the space for an unprecedented growth of entertainment in the regional part of Nigeria.

Explaining why Duncan Mighty prostrated himself for Davido, his manager, Michael Gabriel, said it was out of sheer happiness. He stated, “Duncan was just happy to have Davido in the Niger Delta; it was the first time he would visit for a video shoot. How many top artistes come to Port Harcourt? Everyone goes to Dubai, South Africa and other places to shoot videos. It is a big deal for someone like Davido to come to Port Harcourt and for Duncan Mighty to collaborate with him as well , i was very huge. He didn’t plan to bow to anyone; he was just excited. But people misinterpreted his gesture. Sometimes, there is no need to react to things like this because you will only give people more reasons to talk. When I mentioned it to him, he just focused on other things and wanted to know the next thing on the agenda.”

Gabriel said they didn’t care about the criticism Duncan Mighty had got for his recent gesture to Davido, saying it was a blessing in disguise.

He added, “Criticism drives traffic to a brand and it has helped us. We have been in the news for the past two months; so, people can continue to talk while we continue to trend. There is no week Duncan doesn’t have more than 1,000 new followers on Instagram. If you do something, people must talk. Pastor Enoch Adeboye suffers criticism despite being a man of God. Former President Goodluck Jonathan did his best, yet he was criticised.”

According to Gabriel, Duncan Mighty has become so busy that he also now struggles to see him, even as his manager. He said, “Duncan’s schedule is tight, as he is everywhere now. I receive calls from almost every part of the world from people who want to do one thing or the other with him and they are ready to pay whatever amount. I last saw Duncan three weeks ago before I did again on Thursday. After the video shoot in Port Harcourt, he followed Davido in his private jet to Lagos almost immediately.”

A Baby pig born with extreme deformities, including a “face that looks like a human’s,”has gone online on the internet

Reports says The mother Pig was rape by an unknown Man whom impregnated the pig.



The deformed baby pig was born on a farm in Usa, one of a large litter. The pig’s face included large eyes and wide mouth, looking eerily similar to a human face died shortly after birth and despite its sad death, collectors quickly began a bidding war to purchase its remains.

The pig’s owner had originally intended on keeping it to use as a tourist attraction. Nobody could keep a straight face in Ghana’s parliament meeting when MP John Frimpong Osei began listing the names of some villages in his constituency that included references to human genitals.

Names in the Twi language like “Vagina is Wise” and “Penis is a Fool” left lawmakers in fits of giggles.

The MP was asking when these areas would get access to electricity.

“Providing them with electricity may interfere with nocturnal activities,” joked Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko.

The minister added, in earnest, that a survey would be conducted into how the villages in Abirem constituency in Eastern Region could be connected to the national grid.

Many Ghanaians had not heard of the villages until they were listed in parliament – and they have been left wondering about the origins of the names and are this places located in Ghana

The BBC’s Thomas Naadi in the capital, Accra, says such names are normally given by the first settlers in those communities and are drawn from the life experiences of those individuals.

Almost 80% of Ghana’s population has access to electricity, which is almost double the average rate across Africa and the highest in West Africa, according to the World Bank’s latest report in 2016

Daughter Dorcas Adilewa fakes own kidnap, collects N600,000 ransom from father
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested Dorcas Adilewa for allegedly faking her kidnap to defraud her father,Mr Taiwo Adilewa.

The police also arrested Dorcas’ friend, Ifeoluwa Ogunbanjo, for her alleged involvement in the fraudulent act.

19-yr-old Dorcas was said to have conspired with best friend , Ifeoluwa Ogunbanjo to execute the scheme and allegedly demanded N600,000 ransom from her father.

The police said Mr Taiwo had received a call from someone who told him that his daughter had been kidnapped and allegedly demanded the N600,000 for her release.

Taiwo reportedly informed the police about the kidnap of his daughter.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, during a press briefing on Monday, said he ordered the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the command to investigate the case.

He said, “The kidnapper told the father that if he did not want his daughter killed, he should pay a ransom of N600,000 to secure her release.

“Investigation into the case immediately commenced and the phone number that was used by the callers was geo-located to the Ijebu Igbo area of Ogun State. The head of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit led his men to Ijebu Igbo at about 10pm the same day and combed the area in search of the supposed victim till the following morning.”

Imohimi said while the search was still ongoing, the alleged fraudsters relocated to Lagos where Dorcas Adilewa called her father.

The CP explained that after she observed that operatives were very close to getting the kidnappers, and in a bid to evade arrest, Dorcas Adilewa called her father that she had been released.

Imohimi said, “The supposed kidnappers relocated to Ikotun in Lagos and the search party also moved to Ikotun to rescue the victim.

“When the fake kidnappers realised that the police were closing in on them, the supposed victim called the complainant to inform him that she has been released after she gave them the N8,000 the father sent to her bank account.”

The CP said Dorcas later confessed to have masterminded the kidnap, adding that she planned the kidnap with her friend, Ogunbanjo, who allegedly provided the hideout and assistrd her with plans.

He said, “Dorcas Adilewa confessed that she planned the kidnap with her friend, Ifeoluwa Ogunbanjo, who provided her with accommodation on Adeboye Road, Okesopin, Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, as well as the mobile phone they used to demand the ransom. Her reason was that she wanted to extort money from her father.”

However, Dorcas said she needed the money to pay her school fees.

She said, “When the payment of my school fee was delayed, I went to my friend’s (Ogunbanjo) place, where I called my father.

“I was at her place on Thursday and I went back home on Friday when my dad said he could not afford the money.”

But Ogunbanjo said she was not aware of the kidnap plan, adding that she accommodated Dorcas at her parents’ house because Dorcas told her she had escaped from kidnappers.

She also said she gave Dorcas her phone to call her father because she said she needed transport fare to go home.

Ogunbanjo said, “It was because she used my phone to call that the police came to Ijebu. What she told me was that she entered kidnappers bus and that when she escaped, she came to Ijebu Ode.

“When she came, my mum entertained her and the next day, my mum gave her N500. She needed additional N500 to complete the N1,000 she needed to transport herself home. So she said she wanted to use my phone to call her daddy so she can tell him to send her some money to transport herself. So I gave her, not knowing that she was using it to demand money from her daddy.

“She asked for my bank account number and I said I did not have. So, I went to meet someone beside my mummy’s shop to collect an account number. It is God that saved me that she did not use that person’s account number. I never knew that her daddy had sent N8,000 into her account and she did not tell me anything.”

The CP said investigation was in progress and on completion, suspects would be charged to court and jailed if found guilty.

– Policemen extort N100,000 from building contractor through POS

Some policemen attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Edo State Police Command, have been accused of illegally extorting N100,000 from a building contractor, Emmanuel Alabede.

The operatives allegedly collected the money using Point Of Sale (POS) machine after threatening to kill him if he failed to give the bribe.

1960ng learnt that Emmanuel Alabede was travelling from Ibadan to Abuja when the car he was travelling in was stopped by the cops on the Ibilo-Okene Expressway and the bags of the occupants of the car were searched.

Emmanuel Alabede said the operatives told him to give them his mobile phone but he declined, telling them to state what his offence was and he was innocent

Twenty eight year-old Alabede, who said that the operatives raised their voice and threatened to kill him, added that he eventually released his phone to them.

He said, “They searched my phone but they found nothing incriminating; all they saw were pictures of uncompleted buildings. They asked me if the buildings belonged to me and I told them that they were not mine but they belonged to my clients.

“They said I was lying and accused me of being an Internet fraudster but I told them I was not and showed them my ID card and my company’s card, but they did not release me.

“While they were with my phone, a notification of alert of over N200,000 popped up on my phone from a client and they said they were going to collect the N200,000 from me.

“I told them that the money was not for me; that it was for a client that wanted me to work on his building, but they told me that if I didn’t give them the money they would kill me and nobody would hold them responsible.”

Alabede said when he refused to give the cops the bribe demanded, they told the driver of the car he was travelling in to go.

The Oyo State indigene added that he had to cooperate with the operatives to save his life.

He said, “I told them that I could not give them the whole money but I can give them part of it; so they told me that they would not collect anything less than N100,000 from me.

“They took me to a POS operator and I made a transfer of N100,000 to the operator who charged N2,500 for the transaction and gave the cops N97,500.”

Alabede further stated that the operatives who were in their uniform when stopped his car, changed to mufti when they were going to the POS operator’s stand.

He said he reported to the police helpline (0805700000) immediately he left the scene but was rebuked by the person that picked the call for not calling when he was with the cops.

He added that the unnamed person directed him to the police Whatsapp channel (08057000003), where he was directed back to the helpline.

“I replied them that I had already called the helpline and it was from there that I was directed to the Whatsapp. Since then, I have not received any reply from the Whatsapp channel,” he said.

When contacted, the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, pretended that he was not the person at the other end of the conversation.

“Are you sure you know who you are talking to? Check the number you are calling,” he said and immediately terminated the conversation.

A check through True Caller, a mobile app, revealed that Chidi Nwabuzor was the one that picked the call.

Our correspondent in Edo State also gave the same number as that of the state PPRO.

1960ng again put several calls across to the phone number, but it rang out as the police spokesman refused to pick his calls.

A text message sent to the number had yet to be replied to as of press time.

– Ghana Government to Ban Fishing in Ghana On August 7

Elizabeth Naa Afoley Quaye, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development announced this at a press conference in Accra, on Friday.

The Minister explained that the closed season is meant for all fleets comprising canoes, Inshore Boats and trawlers.

The ban takes effect from August 7 to September 4 , this year which means it’s no fishing for three weeks and few days.
Vessels involved in the harvesting and fishing of Tuna are, however, exempted from the ban.
According to the sector Minister, vessels involved in the harvesting of Tuna conduct their business at deep seas and they were not near areas reserved for other fleets.
The Minister said although August had been touted as the bumper season, the same period has been described as the perfect high food production for fish to eat.
“The fish consume food rapidly, grow quickly and spawn. The maximum spawning potential is often in August every year.”
According to her the closed season was not going to be a one off process, adding that, it would continue year by year until Ghana’s fishing stock improved.
She appealed to fisher folks to sacrifice a little to save the fishing industry and also save them from complaining of low catch.
Madam Afoley Quaye recounted that over the past two decades, the fisheries sector had seen a massive decline and it appeared that Ghana’s marine was heading towards “a total collapse
She said one of the reasons why Ghana reached that stage was the fact that, there was weak governance in the fishing sector and so there was need to salvage the situation within three years.
“Our fisheries governance mechanisms had not been able to match and stamp out the multi-faceted illegal unreported and unregulated fish practices such as use of lights for fishing and obnoxious chemical harvest among others.”

The Minister noted that continuing with the closed season policy with good fisheries management and enforcement practices against illegal fishing, it was expected that landing of small pelagic fish by artisanal fisheries would increase from 15,000 metric tonnes to 90,000 metric tonnes by the year 2025.
She said countries such as Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Guinea Conakry and Rodriguez Island near Madagascar have been able to go through closed season and they were reaping more benefits than others.
The sector Minister said security forces and other agencies would be on standby to ensure an incident free closed season and to ensure no one trespasses .
She said under the fisheries Act, persons found engaged in fishing during closed seasons could be fined $500,000 and others could also have their gears seized.

The corpse of a baby girl dump at refuse site on Apapa Road, Ebute Metta, Lagos, on Thursday morning

Emotions rose on Thursday as passers-by cursed an unknown mother, who dumped the corpse of her baby at a heap of refuse in Lagos.

NAN-TV reports that the corpse of the baby girl was discovered at the dump site at Costain Bus-stop on Apapa Road in Ebute Meta, Lagos State.

The baby, clad in a light-green unisex wear with a black cap, looked malnourished.

A trader, Adeolu Aderogba, said she resumed her routine around 7.00 a.m. only to discover that the baby was at the refuse dump.

“Whoever dumped the baby there must be a very wicked person.

“Babies are precious gifts from God and should be cared for but some contemporary mothers seem to be careless and morally bankrupt,’’ she said.

A resident who pleaded anonymity, told NAN-TV that the baby showed signs of life in the early hours of the day.

“Imagine this kind of tragedy, if the baby had been rescued on time, she would not have died,” he said.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos State, CSP Chike Oti, confirmed the incident and said that the Iponri Police Division had been notified about the baby’s corpse.

Oti told NAN that the police were taking action but that no arrest had been made in connection with the matter. (NAN)

- An Accra District Court has charged 14 women arrested in a police swoop for prostitution

- The Court has fined 14 of the women after pleading guilty to charges, with two granted bail

Fourteen out of 16 prostitutes who have been charged by an Accra District Court after being arrested by the police are pleading for forgiveness.

The suspects, are praying the court to pardon them, and they have also promised to refrain from such acts.

According to a Graphic.com.gh report, the 16 include 10 Nigerians, five Ghanaians and a Liberian.
The 14 accused persons pleaded guilty to the offense at their first appearance in court.

The court at a sitting drew the attention of the suspects to the fact that the act of soliciting for ‘sex’ in an exchange of money was an offense against the laws of Ghana.

According to prosecution, the Police at Cantonments embarked on a swoop at Danquah Circle and Togo Embassy area on Sunday July 8, this year and arrested all the 16 women engaging in the act of prostitution.

The prosecution officer explained that the police swoop forms part of exercises aimed at getting rid of suspected criminals, who have embarked on a countless number of robberies within the city.

The accused persons given a hearing in court pleaded guilty and they were convicted on their own plea.

The court in a ruling imposed a GHC300 fine each on the suspects, which in default would serve a three-month jail term each.

Growing up I was very insecure about my looks and my weight…that then lead me to live a life of seeking approval from men.I broke my virginity at the age of 13 all in the name of fitting and it made me feel I am now a real woman.I started drinking…..smoking….I did everything to be recognised as the popular kid in school.Got pregnant and delivered a baby boy. My son was discharged from ICU….a month later I woke up and he had turned blue and very cold. He passed away…..Yes I was hurt but I felt a sense of relief. Mina I am fresh….big thighs..big ass and all…..if can’t be HIV positive. I had given HIV a face of someone skinny….loosing hair…..dry mouth etc .Went to visit him sometime and yoh he didn’t look very good…..he was really ill. Few months after he passed away.
