I'm not the kind of person that is accustomed to keeping it short, but there's no way I can spill my mind without increasing my b.p. (in a bad way, not the same way you feel when you see your chic) I hate Nigerian movies except for some very few ones made by Mainframe and one Ogidan guy. also heard that this Novia fella is doing quite good. They're not really my thing, my interest is purely patriotic. In four words, Nollywood is f**ked up!

I like SOME nigerian movies. Especially the old ones. My friend says the best ones are the ones that are in nigerian (but subbed in english). There are some nigerian movies I hate however. Some are too long, some are boring, some steal lines from other movies etc. etc.

at least they r better than hollywood. Holly too rude and impossible , far out of reach or reality. boy and girl or man and woman meet for the first time and the next second they kiss and the next second they land up in bed or the ground. sex and nudity pervades the holly films nowadays.
nollywood learn values, culture, biblical standards, even quote bible verses etc,

and too much violence extremely horrible and vicious and impossible
Like they run out of ideas and trying to make it exciting.

i have a love/hate relationship with these films, especially after watching a film for four hours and the ending is horrible. for the sake of all those who feel like pulling their hair out after watching such films, check out my blog before spending another cent or hour on a useless movie

the nollywood critique

i love the effort from the Nollywooders
but it is just that some times the films are so disgraceful
i feel ashamed watching them with colleagues of other nationalities
because when they laugh i feel laughed at

I think the english movies in Nigeria is absolute rubbish even may dead grandma direct a good movie but I live Yoruba movies even if I am not Yoruba and cannot say Hi in Yoruba still I always watch because there is full suspense. Kudos to yoruba directors.

I dont hate Nigerian films, you have to care to hate. I wouldnt be caught dead watching some Nigerian movies, they all have basically the same recycled ideas and are extremely predictable just by looking at the cast; if its Omotola, its definitely a love story, Alex Osifo, its definitely a "Juju" or cult film. I manage to watch the comedies, those are alright. Tunde Kelani also makes some cool films.

The problem with the Nigerian film is the lack of sustainable intelligent plot, underfunding ,bad casting ,mediocre editing , etcetera , the list is endless. Let me just say they are targeted at a very simple minded audience. I dont watch them.
