Former Manchester City and Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure rejoined Olympiakos on Sunday, 12 years after making his mark in Europe with the Greek Super League club. Yaya Toure The 35-year-old Ivorian international played for the Piraeus-based side during the 2005-2006 season, scoring three goals in 20 matches. He then joined Monaco before moving to Barcelona between 2007 and 2010. After Gulf-based owners injected huge funds into Manchester City, Toure was one of the key signings that helped the club win three Premier League titles in seven seasons. He played 230 matches for City, scoring 59 goals but was released at the end of last season after another title triumph, although he had grown frustrated with his lack of playing opportunities in northwest England. Speaking to reporters about Goretzka post-match, Kovac said: "I'm very happy. He did a good job in the pre-season. He played a little bit less minutes than others all the time. "But for today we had the feeling that he is the right player to start with his ability to create space, his aggressiveness and his pace. He can help us a lot with that. "The opening was a shot from 16 meters so from then on, the game was a bit easier for us. "I'm happy for him that he scored his first goal in his first Bundesliga game with Bayern. Or was it his second game already? Yes, right his second. So it was his first goal and I'm happy for him." Bayern continued their winning start under Kovac thanks to a three-goal second half away from home. The first half proved frustrating for Bayern, who finally made the breakthrough in the second 45 via Goretzka, Lewandowski and Thomas Muller. "I'm very happy about my team's performance," Kovac added. "We played very concentrated over the whole 90 minutes. Defensively and offensively. How many chances we had in the second half shows that we are able to do a lot of good things with the ball. "I hope that we can keep our game on that level. I think we can do that in the future, too. But I know every new game is different. And we have to prove what we are capable to do in every single game." Source: http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/09/goretzka-earns-praise-from-bayern-boss.html

“Atletico Madrid will have an easy ride qualifying from the group,” Shofoluwe told Goal. “Monaco, Club Brugge and Borussia Dortmund will fight for the remaining slot. Dortmund have a slight edge ahead of Club Brugge and Monaco. “I don’t think Atletico have any serious competitor in their group if we look at what the other clubs have achieved in recent seasons. I fancy the chance of Borussia Dortmund too but they will struggle against Atletico. Their best bet is to fight for the second position. “Monaco used to be a force in the past and they actually picked up a little two seasons ago when they got to the semi-final of the Champions League and also won the French League at the expense of Paris Saint Germain. I feel that all that has changed now after they turned to a selling club.” He added that the competition is likely to produce a new winner this season after Real Madrid have dominated the past three editions. “The competition will change hand this time around,” he continued. “Real Madrid won’t have it easy like they have done in the last three seasons. Juventus have done very well with the players they have recruited. Barcelona, Liverpool, PSG also have outside chance to win it. “But with adequate preparations, Juventus will go far. I will say it is still too early to stick my neck on anything for now but by the time the knock out stages start we know who the real men are.” Source: http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/09/atletico-madrid-will-have-easy-ride-in.html

The Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has described late Premier of the Eastern Region, Dr. Michael Okpara, as one of those who inspired him to leadership. Ikpeazu said this during a visit to the Afougiri Ohuhu Umuahia home of the late premier and one of the founding fathers of Abia State. He described him as the best visionary ever in Nigeria. Speaking after he laid a wreath at the tomb of Dr. Okpara, Governor Ikpeazu said: “The hallmark of a great and visionary leader is that generations after him enjoy his achievements and personally his brand of leadership inspired me. “He left great legacies and those of us after him can only be inspired to work harder in honor of his memory.” Chief Uzodinma Okpara, who led his mother, Adanma Enyidiya Okpara, and other family members to welcome the Governor, assured him of the support of the family and Ohuhu people to his government. He applauded the development strides of Ikpeazu, including the planting over two million tenera specie palm trees within three years of his administration, and called on him never to relent or be distracted by the antics of his political opponents. The Ohuhu clan of Umuahia, who were celebrating their new yam festival, later adopted Ikpeazu as their sole candidate for 2019 governorship election after a motion to that effect was moved by Ambassador Okpara, seconded by Ambassador Empire Kanu and the people concurred via a voice vote. Ikpeazu was later conferred with the chieftaincy title of “Dike Oha of Ohuhu” by traditional rulers of the clan, led by Eze Emeka Obum. President Muhammadu Buhari will Friday depart for China to participate in the 7th Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) scheduled to hold September 3 – 4, 2018 in Beijing Naija News understands. The President’s first engagement in Beijing will be an interactive session with the Nigerian Community in China at the Nigerian Embassy. Before the formal opening of the FOCAC Summit, President Buhari in his capacity as current Chair of ECOWAS, is expected to deliver remarks at the High-Level Dialogue between Chinese and African leaders, business representatives and African entrepreneurs. The Nigerian President is scheduled to join President Jinping and other African leaders for the opening and roundtable sessions of the 2018 FOCAC Beijing Summit under the theme: “Towards an even Stronger China-Africa Community with a shared Future.” After the FOCAC Summit, President Buhari will hold bilateral meetings with President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang to discuss infrastructure financing for strategic projects in Nigeria and the upgrading of Nigeria-China relations “from strategic partnership to comprehensive strategic partnership.” The President will also use the occasion of his audience with the Chinese leadership to assess the progress made so far in Chinese interventions in Nigeria’s key priority infrastructure projects, particularly on-going projects in the railway and power sectors. It is noteworthy that since the last FOCAC VI Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa in December 2015 – the first attended by the Nigerian leader – and his successful State visit to China in April 2016, the current administration has pushed forward practical cooperation with China in the areas of infrastructure construction, trade, investments, finance, power, agriculture, education cooperation, among others. It would be recalled that President Buhari has consistently acknowledged Chinese support for infrastructure development in Nigeria. In January 2018 while receiving the Board of Directors of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group, the President had said: ‘‘We send our gratitude to the Chinese for all their support to Nigeria. Since independence, no country has helped our country on infrastructural development like the Chinese. In some projects, the Chinese help us with 85 percent payment, and soft loans that span 20 years. No country has done that for us.’’ President Buhari will be accompanied to Beijing by his wife, Aisha, who is scheduled to participate in a Spouses’ Programme on China-Africa at the Great Hall of the People, under the theme, ‘‘Joining Hands for a Future of AIDS.’’ Also on the President’s entourage are Governors Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, Akinwunmi Ambode, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar and Rochas Anayo Okorocha of Bauchi, Lagos, Jigawa and Imo States respectively. Speaking at the declaration of his presidential ambition in Abuja on Wednesday, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, says medical tourism has become the first choice of Nigeria’s leaders, adding that if elected, his government would put a stop to such abnormalities. The popular politician disclosed that his main goal is to, provide affordable healthcare services, adding: “Now that medical tourism has become the first choice of our leaders, we will ensure that the current situation in clinics and hospitals is given radical reforms.” “We shall prioritise and institutionalise national healthcare programmes and delivery medical education and training and financing of healthcare in a manner that is universally accessible and affordable. “Our main goal in healthcare would be to provide affordable healthcare services for all Nigerians.” He said the economy has witnessed a “weak performance” because of bad policies and failed institutional supervision. “Tight monetary rates, exchange rates fluctuations, inflation and unemployment are the dominant factors hindering the growth and survival of our businesses in the country today,” he said. “Therefore our focus shall be on sound economic policies that will ensure a new regime of exchange rate stability. low interest rates and reduction in the country’s rising burden of domestic and foreign loans. “ In the past three years, poverty and unemployment have become more visible, challenging Nigeria’s economic prosperity. Existing policies and economic programmes for alleviating the poverty incidence in the country have obviously failed. “Our non-negotiable goal will therefore be the eradication of poverty through sustainable wealth creation and a coordinated and effective micro-small and medium enterprises development.” Kwankwaso said if the country’s infrastructure is not fixed, Nigerians will not enjoy “the joy of national prosperity”. “With a rapidly growing population, Nigeria’s infrastructure is challenged. If not tackled it would deny citizens the joy of national prosperity,” he said. “Energy need keeps shooting up the stress of doing business m Nigeria. Domestic production suffers and a lot of foreign companies also find it hard to invest in Nigeria due to constant power failure for decades. Nigeria failed to develop its infrastructure.” The senator also said he would pursue reforms in the security sector.“I offer positive change. Change has again become inevitable. To live is to witness changes because change is an inseparable part of living,” he said. “ Come May 2019, the narrative of helplessness, buck-passing, division, poverty, insecurity and hopelessness must change to turn to a new dawn of confidence in building a one well restructured Nigeria. “The constant misuse of security apparatus will stop immediately. Ours is a recommitment to strengthening all democratic institutions in Nigeria.” Source: http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/08/kwankwaso-declares-enough-of-poverty.html

Officers of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a ‘mentally deranged’ couple in possession of various human parts under a Lagos bridge at Cele NICA bus stop, Ojo on the Mile 2 – Badagary expressway. The bust, made by detectives attached to Ijanikin Police Station, caused panic as residents tried to catch a glimpse of the couple whom they claimed were pretending to be mad in order to shield people from knowing that they actually deal on human parts. One of the residents, Shade Oluwakemi, said that it was the lady who was arrested first. She said it took a combined team of the police and some residents hours before they could dragged the man, dressed in dirty cloths, out from under the bridge. Another resident, Arewa Sunday disclosed that three human heads and different human parts were found in the suspect’s possession. The witness said that the lady allegedly threw away a telephone she was with into the bush on sighting officials of the Lagos Neighbourhood Watch Corps who were contacted. Another resident, a trader, who identified herself as Mrs Winfred Orji, explained that: “I was going to the market when I stumbled on the crowd. I had to alight from the commercial bus to know what was going on. To my shock, I saw different human parts: both fresh and dried. “Sometimes, smoke would be billowing from where she stays on top of the bridge. We concluded that she was cooking, unknown to us that she was roasting human parts. A man’s corpse was also found there, with his wrist watch still working. Clothes suspected to be those of her victims were also found with her. She usually went to Vespa market to beg the traders.” Another eyewitness, Abimbola Funmi, said that residents’ curiosities were aroused by some posh cars that usually parked close to where she stays on the bridge. Spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Chike Oti, confirmed the incident, saying the suspects have been transferred to intelligence department, Yaba for further investigation. Loyalists of President Muhammdu Buhari under the aegis of Buhari Support Organisation (BSO) Enugu State on Monday chastised Mr.Luke Mgbo, a media aide to the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, for what they called misrepresentation of the Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mr. OsitaOkechukwu. Okechukwu, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and ardent supporter of President Buhari recently announced his interest to vie for Enugu West senatorial seat in 2019. There are, however, speculations that Senator Ekweremadu, who currently represents Enugu West on opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform, intends to return to the Senate in 2019. But, in a press statement, BSO Secretary, Mr. Godwin Onwusi, frowned at “the misrepresentation of VON DG by Mr. Luke Mgbo, regardingEnugu West senatorial district.” Onwusi equally flayed Mgbo for conferring on himself a political status he does not enjoy in Ekeward in Udi LGA, Enugu State, where both him and DG VON hail from. “In the firstinstance, Mr. Mgboh gave the impression that Mr. Osita Okechukwu said that hewould retire Sen.Ike Ekweremmadu from politics. This is far from what Mr. Okechukwu said. “In the statement released by Mr. Okechukwu which is still inthe public domain, what Mr, Okechukwu said is that he wants to retire Sen.Ekweremmadu from the Senate , not from politics. “There is no denying the fact that Sen. Ekweremmadu, having stayed in the senate for 16 years, is due for retirement from thesenate, so that he can pursue other higher positions in the polity. This is more so considering that he comes from Enugu West Senatorial Zone with abundanthuman resources. Even within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the clamor toretire him from the senate is popular. Among those within the PDP clamoring toretire him from the senate are Prof. AguGab Agu and Chief Barr. O.A.U. Onyema. “Mr.Mgboh further contended that APC has no place in the East. This shows that he is still living in the past. Granted that prior to the 2015 elections, APC had very scanty support in the South East, the situation is no longer the same now. “The rate at which seasoned and tested politicians fromthe South East are joining the APC now is an indication of the desire of thepeople of the South East to hook the National grid of politics and theincreasing approval rating of President Buhari in the South East. Permit me togive a few examples. “In Ebonyi State Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, Sen. Julius Ucha and Hon. Peter Ede have now beenjoined in the APC by H.E chief Martin Elechi (immediate past Governor of theState), Sen. AzuAgboti, Sen. Sunny Ogbuoji, Sen. Chris Nwankwo, Sen. AnthonyAgbo, Sir Edward Nkwegu, Dr. Odoh (immediate past secretary to the StateGovernment), Chief Augustine Nwankwegu (immediate past Speaker of the House ofAssembly) and a host of others. “In Enugu State, Emma Eneukwu, Okey Ezea (Ideke),Osita Okechukwu, Onyemuche Nnamani, Group Capt. Joe Orji (Rtd), Dr. Ben Nwoye,Juliet Ibekaku have now been fortified with the coming in of Mr. GeoffreyOnyeama (foreign affairs minister), His Excellencies Chief Jim Nwobodo, Sullivan Chime and Ken Nnamani, Rt. Hon. Eugene Odo, Chief Gbazuagu N.Gbazuagu, Barrister Ifeanyi Nwoga, Hon. K.G.B. Oguakwa and a host of others,” Onwusi said. The BSO scribe said in Anambra State, SenatorChrisNgige has now been fortified by the coming in of seasoned politicians likeSen. Andy Uba, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, Hon. Tony Nwoye, Hon. Charles Odedo and ahost of others, while in Abia State, the coming into the APC of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, Sen. Nwogu, Hon. Uche Hon. Nkiru Onyejiocha and a host of others, which fortifiedIkechi Emenike and company, would surely turn the tide. Coming to Imo, an APC state, Onwusi said the entranceinto the APC of prominent Imo Politicians like Sen. Hope Uzodimma would help Governor Okorocha, Sen. Ararumme, Sen. Izunaso, Sen. Uwajumogu, Hon. Nwajuba, Hon. Ohajuruka, H.E Eze Madumere and a host of others to consolidate the APC hold in Imo state. He noted that majority of those he mentioned above and many he did not mention were not in the APC during the 2015 elections and it therefore, baffled him why Mr. Mgboh still saw APC in the South East the way it was seen, prior to the 2015 elections. On the challenge thrown by Mgbo to VON DG to contend with him and see if he would defeat me him (DG) in Eke Ward before going to Udi, not to talk of Enugu West Zone, Onwusi responded: “By this statement, Mr. Mgboh has not only arrogated to himself the political stature he does not have in Eke but has also presented himself as the personification of the PDP in Eke Ward. “He has also belittled other PDP stakeholders in Ekewho I know, as an indigene, command more followership than himself, such as OzoDamian Ozoani, Steve Igweze, Mike Oguama, Bona Udeh, and a host of others. “Mr. Mgboh lied, and he knows it, when he said ‘Osita isan Abuja politician that doesn’t know anybody at the grassroot’. As anindigene of Eke, I know that Mr. Mgboh does not have up to one percent of Mr.Okechukwu’s popularity in Eke. This is an assertion that anybody canverify in the six villages that make up Eke Ward. Mr. Mgboh is not even amatch in popularity to Mr. Okechukwu’s associates and lieutenants in Eke likemyself, Emeka Udeh, Philip Eze and OssyAkahalu. “Every APC member in Enugu State, including PDP members, know that Eke is the ‘capital’ of APC in Enugu State, courtesy of Mr. Osita Okechukwu. “That was why it took a contingent of notless than 600 boys and PDP big wigs, imported into Eke from all parts of EnuguState, during the recently conducted Local Government elections, to save Mr. Mgbohand all the PDP stakeholders in Eke from the electoral strength of APC in theward. “Of course, Mr. Mgboh knows that such a scenario cannot happen againduring the 2019 General Elections. The appointment of Mr. GeoffreyOnyeama as the Minister for Foreign Affairs has further fortified the strengthof the APC in Eke Ward and Mr. Mgboh knows this. “I make bold to say that Eke Ward isno longer a safe haven for PDP. It is now a domain of the APC and the2019 elections will prove this.” Source: http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/08/2019-north-should-stop-deceiving-south_27.html

The determination of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remove Bukola Saraki from the position of the Senate President has increased the heat in the country’s political space. Saraki contested the position in 2015 by virtue of his membership of the ruling party. Recently, the Senate President dumped the APC for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). But, the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, sees the Senate presidency as a crown belonging to the APC since it is the majority party at the upper chamber of the National Assembly. Driven by a sense of entitlement, Oshiomhole is insisting that Saraki must surrender the crown. To him, it is an aberration for the minority to rule over the majority. “If you are wearing a family crown and you are leaving the family, you have to drop the crown and move to your new family,” Oshiomhole said in his initial reaction to the Senate President’s defection. The APC National Chairman said it is a matter of honour for Saraki to resign his position. But, Saraki has ignored the persistent calls by the APC that he should relinquish his position. The former Kwara State governor argued that he was not elected into the position solely by the ruling party. He is insisting that his Presidency of the Senate is a mandate by all lawmakers from different political platforms. The Senate leadership has been a hot seat for Saraki from day one. He stirred the hornet’s nest when he clinched the seat against the wishes of his former party. Ahmed Lawan, who later became the Majority Leader, was the consensus candidate of the APC for the Senate President. George Akume was the party’s preference for the position of the Deputy Senate President. However, the consensus arrangement did not go down well with Saraki. He sought and got support from the PDP senators. On the day of the inauguration of the Eighth National Assembly, while 51 APC senators and leaders were at the International Conference Centre (ICC) waiting for President Muhammadu Buhari’s intervention to resolve the issues surrounding the choice of the party’s candidate for the Senate Presidency, Saraki was elected by 57 senators. Ike Ekweremadu of the PDP was also elected unopposed as the Senate Deputy President. The Senate President was labeled a traitor and offensives were lunched against him. First was to slam a forgery charge against him and Ekweremadu in court. They were accused of forging the Senate Standing Rule. But, the case seems to have died a natural death. Less than four months after becoming the Senate President, Saraki was arraigned before the Code of Conduct Tribunal. He was accused of making false declaration of assets when he was the governor of Kwara State. For more than two and a half years, the case dragged from the tribunal to the Court of Appeal and finally to the Supreme Court. But, in June this year, the Senate President was discharged by the Apex Court of all the 18 charges brought against him. The storm, however, was not over for Saraki with his victory at the Supreme Court. He was to be linked to the armed robbery in Offa, Kwara State, which claimed several lives. Some of the suspects arrested in connection with the robbery incident reportedly told the police that they were political thugs of the Senate President. Saraki is still battling to free himself from the case. Saraki is facing another battle with the APC’s insistence that he should vacate the position of the Senate President. Twice, he has survived what observers consider as attempts to impeach him when his official residence was invaded by security operatives and the National Assembly complex was barricaded by hooded officials of the Department of State Services (DSS). Will he survive the latest impeachment plot against him? This question will be answered when the Senate reconvenes. The Red Chamber is currently on recess. It is expected to resume on September 28. But, the APC has been strident in its calls for Saraki to reconvene the Senate to consider the budget of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2019 elections and the foreign loans that President Buhari is seeking to finance this year’s budget. There are still arguments over which between the APC and the PDP is the majority party in the Senate. The ruling party is claiming that the number of its lawmakers in the Upper Chamber is 56, while that of the PDP is 49. But, the PDP has told the ruling party to wait till when the Senate will reconvene to determine which political party has the majority parliamentarians. If at the end of the day the APC is proved to be in majority, is it only the party that can produce the Senate President? The position, Saraki has said, is not an exclusive preserve of any political party whether or not the party is in majority. He said only the majority of individual members of the parliament across party lines can determine who occupies the seat. Saraki’s view is shared by many who have also argued that there is no law that says the presiding officers of the parliament must be produced by the majority party. The constitution of the country, according to them, only says the president and the deputy president shall be elected by the members of the Senate from among themselves. They make reference to Section 50 (1) (a) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) to buttress their position. Given the belligerent utterances of Oshiomhole and some APC senators, the view of some analysts is that the APC is not likely to spare any weapon in its quest for Saraki’s removal. But, how will the party achieve its aim? Will it follow the rule of law or will it ignore due process? Prominent Nigerian lawyers and law professors have argued that it will not take less than 73 Senators to remove the Senate President or his deputy. These legal luminaries include Femi Falana, Wole Olanipekun, Mike Ozekhome, Fidelis Oditah, Roland Otaru, among others. They said any attempt to impeach Saraki must follow the due process specified by Section 50(2)(c) of the Constitution. If not, the action will amount to illegality according to them. The section says only two-thirds of the 109 senators as opposed to two-thirds of those present on the floor can legally impeach any presiding officer of a legislature. Falana said: “The attention of APC legislators ought to be drawn to section 52 of the Constitution which provides that the President and Deputy Senate President can only be removed by the resolution supported by the votes of not less two thirds majority of the entirety of the members of the Senate.” The APC legislators are not up to 73. They are 56 as claimed by the party’s national chairman. Will the ruling party muster the number required by the constitution to remove Saraki? If the party realises that it will be a tall order to get the required two-third majority of the votes of the entire members, will it shelve the impeachment plan? Whichever way the APC goes about getting rid of Saraki, many have warned the party to desist from following a path that can lead to the truncation of democracy in the country. They are quick to point to the fact that the APC were very active in aiding Aminu Tambuwal to become the Speaker of the House of Representatives in 2011 even though the PDP wanted somebody else. Tambuwal, now the governor of Sokoto State, was not impeached when he jumped ship from the PDP to the APC. Will the APC bring the roof down because Saraki has returned to the PDP from which he joined the ruling party in 2014?....Read More Here http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/08/sarakis-impeachment-plot-will-apc.html

Curvy Nigerian actress, Anita Joseph, has revealed the craziest thing a fan of hers has ever done to her. Anita Joseph, attracts loads of attention whenever she steps out. Her endowments in addition to her fame often make fans go overboard. But according to the s*xy actress, there’s more to her than her ‘killer’ curves. Here, she opens up on her career, relationship, challenges, and other issues of life. It’s an interesting read. What are you currently working on? At the moment, I am trying to package my youth empowerment skills programme, where the Nigerian youth will be empowered to fend for themselves; because the unemployment rate is on the increase, and with all the graduates in Nigeria, there are no jobs for them. So, my empowerment scheme will help the youth identify which skills they can equip themselves with and make them self-reliant. That do you think is the role of art in society? Art should inspire, entertain, beautify and motivate. How many times have you fallen in love after seeing a movie? When I was much younger, every time I watched Denzel Washington, I was always crushing on him. What quality earned you your first movie role? The s*xy part of me that got me my (first) big break, let’s see, I would say my legs. The role was for a tall, dark and beautiful young girl, and that suited me well at the time. However, my big break was the movie, Tears in My Heart. What s*xy endowments do you flaunt to prove you are attractive? I don’t flaunt any endowment. It’s not that I don’t appreciate my natural gifts from God, but I am just me; no need to flaunt anything. If there were big prizes to do porn movies, would you accept? I don’t do porn and I shy away from any movie that shows too much, and as you can see, I don’t act such roles. What is your take on baby mama and single motherhood that have become the trend in Nollywood? A woman has her life to live, and if at ripe age she decides to have a baby, that’s her choice. It is not just in the movie industry, but it’s also everywhere. Go to the US and some parts of Africa, especially South Africa, it is common. Do you agree with the stereotype that female stars hardly stay married or in committed relationships? Civilisation has its disadvantages and this is one of them. As women work, they have become independent and will not take any form of abuse from a man. It used to be that every mum had a business or was just a stay-at-home mum taking care of the kids; but now the status quo has changed. Women now work and can make the decision to leave if they are not being treated right, not minding where the upkeep is coming from, as they can provide for themselves and their children. Would you then say it is the fear of becoming old maids, without a man to call their own that compelled some actresses to opt for single motherhood? I won’t really be able to assume and generalise on this one, but I know it is a matter of choice. In all we do, we should choose the right thing and be happy. If having a baby makes them happy, that’s all good. Our career is hectic and busy, so sometimes one forgets the priorities. It is always good to remember that and create a balance. Or is it that actresses don’t get it right when it comes to marriage? No, it is not that actresses don’t get it right in marriage. Marriage is between two people, and if it breaks up, it is not the fault of the woman alone. It takes two to tango. What are your no-go areas when it comes to relationships; can you forgive a cheating husband? To me, a man that cheats is saying, ‘I prefer someone else’ so what is the point? I will forgive but forgiveness is not reconciliation. If he is not satisfied with me, Anita, then he belongs to someone else. Is it an option to leave a marriage that is not working? It is not a spur of the moment thing. It happens like that because of our job. Being busy while in a relationship, you think you know the person, but he turns out to be someone who you don’t recognise, and you run for cover. It is a natural phenomenon. But I would advise couples to look before leaping. Then they should work to sustain their marriage. Yes, divorce is an easier option. Marriage is work, I won’t judge because being with someone who is not worth it or who is abusive is just not marriage. Marriage should be sweet and enjoyable with trust and partnership in mind. If you are not working towards a mutual goal, what is the point of it all? What is your take on abortion; is it right or wrong? Abortion is a no-no for me. It is killing. The baby did not ask to be conceived. ‘Say no to abortion’ is a campaign so close to my heart. A baby is a gift. If you made the choice not to use protection then there might just be a baby, so you need to take responsibility for your actions and give that baby a life. That baby has no voice and cannot make choices, but if you have the power and kill the baby, it is just not right in front of God and man. It is desecration and ungodly. It is shedding of innocent blood and I advocate against it. Abortion causes infertility, death and trauma, and it is illegal. It’s that simple. So, a woman should choose one: close your legs, use protection or take responsibility. In the case of a r*ped woman, would you advise her to keep the baby or abort it? R*pe causes trauma and it’s an abuse of rights, so for a woman who gets pregnant in the process, I will not be able to advise. He who wears the shoe knows where it pinches. S*x dolls and toys have flooded the country; do you think it’s a sin and advise people to keep away from it? Do you have any? S*x dolls! Choices and adulthood are beyond me. Advise what? What’s my business? How do you handle men that make advances at you? Men with their eyes and advances… but I know how to handle myself any time, any day. A lot of men just take things for granted, but I let them know that there is more to me than my curves. I am not just a pretty face. With the advancement of social media, anyone can post anything on Instagram but I have my team that handles all the excess baggage. What is the craziest thing a fan has done to you? I met a Nigerian fan of mine in New York. He walked up to me and knelt down before me. I was shocked! Everyone thought he was my boyfriend and he wanted to propose. You know oyibo people, but he said, ‘Anita, if you no give me your number, I go die. Today is my lucky day’. It was crazy, very crazy. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/08/curvy-actress-anita-joseph-reveals.html

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has maintained that the focus of the present administration, is to take Nigerians out of poverty. He said all government’s programmes and projects were geared towards achieving that objective. According to a statement on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, the Vice President spoke during a town hall meeting held in Bariga/Somolu Local Council Development Area, Lagos State to felicitate with Lagosians on the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations on Tuesday. Osinbajo said the government was targeting those at the lowest level so that they can do better. He said: “I want to emphasise that everything we are doing, our focus, first of all, is to ensure that people are taken out of poverty. “Our country is very big; over 200 million people, many young people coming out every day. Aside from that, we also want to ensure that anybody who is doing anything at all, who is trading, artisans, mechanics; we are able to support them. “The reason is that when you look at the way government operates in the past; when you look at the government budget, it focuses on the middle-class, those who have industries and manufacturing plants, and those kinds of people. “But the majority are at a very low level, doing little things. Those are the people that we must first of all (focus on) so that the poorest are able to do better. If the poorest do better, it would be better for all of us.” Osinbajo noted that the administration’s National Social Investment Programmes were geared towards improving the welfare of ordinary Nigerians. “The President’s focus has always been on the common man. So, when we came, we decided on a few things to tackle youth unemployment. First, the N-Power programme to engage as many young people who are graduates as possible. “We started with 200,000, and just this month, we have employed another 300,000. So, in our N-Power programme, we have 500,000 young graduates who are employed in the programme. Now every local government in Nigeria has N-Power graduate,” he added. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/08/the-time-is-here-see-how-osinbajo-and.html

The spokesperson to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has taken to his twitter page to pen down a word of advice to slay queens has nothing to offer but sex in a relationship. Read his post below… Dear slay queen, It is true love is give and take. But that does not mean you give sex and take money. That is not love. This expectation that a boyfriend must maintain you is immoral. If all you bring to a relationship is sex, you are as replaceable as a used recharge card. Love should not be commercialised. Gifts are one thing. Maintenance are another. The regular demanding of money to take care of bills because you provide sexual favours is prostitution. ?Sex outside marriage is wrong. Sex for maintenance is even more wrong. Truth is really not bitter. It is actually people that get bitter about the truth. Do not be bitter about the truth. Instead, let the truth make you better ?#RenosNuggets http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/08/reno-omokri-writes-open-letter-to-slay.html

Ekiti State Governor-elect, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has condemned alleged massive recruitment of workers by Governor Ayo Fayose less than two months before leaving office. Fayemi said “the last-minute employment of workers” was a booby trap to make life difficult for the incoming administration. Fayose is expected to make way for Fayemi on October 16 when the governor-elect will be sworn in. A statement on Thursday by the Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Wole Olujobi, claimed that Fayose had just employed 600 teachers into the Teaching Service Commission, 400 staff into the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and 1,000 into the Ministry of Establishment. The governor-elect berated Fayose for embarking on a last minute mass recruitment to deceive the unsuspecting victims and set a booby-trap for the incoming administration. Noting that Fayose was deliberately creating obstacles for the new administration having not employed one person in nearly four years, the statement wondered why the governor embarked on mass recruitment in the last few days to the end of his term. According to him, Fayose was playing on the intelligence of the people to paint a picture of a man of the masses in clear infraction on the law. He said: “It is a grand deception and sheer wickedness for a governor that has refused to pay workers and pensioners for between six and 10 months to now turn around to recruit about 2,000 workers in a selective manner to favour his supporters only.” Olujobi described Fayose’s recruitment as an act of desperation by a governor who never cared for the people but would always take advantage of them in a most dehumanising manner. “Once again, we call on Ekiti people as we did in our recent press release to be wary of Fayose’s last minute illegal deals, transactions and mass recruitment which do not follow due process. “Any transaction so done shall be reviewed by the incoming administration.” PLEASE READ MORE>>>http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/08/fayemi-knocks-fayose-for-allegedly.html Kindly Visit: mcebisco.com.ng

Nigeria’s Ambassador to the U.S., Justice Sylvanus Nsofor (rtd) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for not excluding his office in signing the ‘Not-Too-Young-to-Run’ bill into law. Nsofor, who gave the commendation as a guest speaker at the 2018 International Young Leaders Assembly at the UN headquarters in New York, said the youth made up 75 per cent of Nigeria’s population. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Buhari signed the bill into law in May following its passage by the National Assembly in 2017. “Pursuant to the desideratum, President Muhammadu Buhari of The Federal Republic of Nigeria promulgated into law, on the May 31, 2018, ‘Not Too Young to Run Bill’ thereby reducing the age qualification for elective offices or positions but not excepting his position or office,” he said. He said based on the Nigerian Census, 2006, the youth population constituted 70 per cent adding, the world population of youth constitutes 25 per cent. The Nigerian envoy said the youth of a nation were the “trustees of posterity” and the the “world changers”. Nsofor said: “’The youths of today are the leaders of tomorrow’. But I make haste to add, the youths are also ‘partakers of today’. “The youth of or in any society or nation play vital and very important roles in shaping its moral tune, fostering the social cohesion, economic prosperity and its political stability. “They provide the needed goods and services. I choose to dwell on the ‘Role of Young People in National Development’. “The youth – its leadership – cannot and should not be left out in the national or international scheme of things. Indeed, this is an aphorism. They are the world changers. But why? “Because only and only because the development of any society or its morality essentially depends on its productive and creative youths (or its leadership). And this, I may say is a ‘sine qua non’”. He noted that we could not always build the future for the youth but we could always build the youth for our future by instructing them at childhood in the way they should go and when they grow old, they would not leave it. Noting the theme of the conference, ‘Moral and Innovative Leadership for Peace and Development’, Nsofor said Nigerian businessman Aliko Dangote represented a perfect illustration. “This Nigerian of whom all are proud, at the early age of 20 years started a small business firm. “And today the Dangote Group of Companies of which Alhaji Aliko Dangote is the Chief Executive Officer is the famous successor of that small business firm,” he said. He admonished the youth to channel their energy and power, their noble thoughts and ideas into productive, moral, and lawful ventures to contribute meaningfully to the national or international growth, development and economy. The Nigerian envoy also urged them to be law abiding adding, “the top and bottom of all the admonition is ‘peace’”. Sections 65, 106, 131, 177 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria stipulates that the president has to be at least 40, while senators and state governors have to be aged 35 or above. The new law, however, reduced the minimum age for presidential candidates from 40 to 35, and state governors and senators from 35 to 30, while the age limit for state assembly is 25. The Oyo State Government on Wednesday explained that the demolition notice given to the Music House, which houses Fresh FM, Ibadan, a private radio station owned by a popular Juju musician, Mr. Yinka Ayefele was not based on sentiment or witch-hunting. The station, through its Director of Corporate Affairs and Promotions, Mr. David Ajiboye, had yesterday raised an alarm that the owner of the building which houses the radio station has been given a three-day notice to vacate the building and remove the structure or risk its removal by the government. But, the government while insisting that such contravention notices have been given and served to different organizations in the state since June 14, 2017 including all radio stations in the state, added that the decision to demand for approval plan was not peculiar to the radio station. Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Toye Arulogun in a statement mailed to DAILY POST Wednesday evening said that the state government observed that property owners in the state were deviating from the originally approved building plans without seeking physical planning approvals from the Oyo State Bureau of Physical Planning and Development Control. Arulogun stated that “the decision of the state government to demand for the building approved plan was not peculiar to Music House, Fresh Fm as several companies and institutiuons such as University of Ibadan, Kola Daisi University, University College Hospital, banks and radio stations in the state were asked to provide their Planning approval.” He added that the government recently demolished several banks ATM extension and some local government structures in the state. He said that “the letter to Fresh FM was received by one Bamiduro Aderonke and a reminder letter dated 18thAugust 2017 was sent to the radio station to again request for the planning approval/permit for the Radio Station in line with the Oyo State Physical and Development Control laws in which the radio station was expected to forward the approved Building plan to the Bureau within seven days, noting that a copy of the letter was received by Adebisi Akinfunmi on the 21st of August 2017”. Arulogun said that “the submitted building approval was actually meant for an office complex and not a radio station, thereby contravening the Oyo State Physical Planning and Development Control laws, sections 30, 31 and 32 of the Oyo State Physical Planning and Urban Development Law of 2012.” He stated that the submitted approval from Music House deviated from the approved plan, which makes the approval null and void because deceitful information was given to the approving authority and also deviation from the approval granted both in construction and use”. He added that “a physical inspection was carried out on the 25th of June 2018 to ascertain the extent of the deviation from the approval where it was discovered that apart from the change in use of the building, spatial standards in terms of setback, airspace and parking spaces were found to be grossly inadequate”. He maintained that “a letter was sent to the station on 29th of June, 2018 to submit a fresh building plan application that will reflect the existing structures on site, noting that the radio house deliberately ignored the letter as there was no response from their end till date”. He however said that “the deviant posture of the radio station prompted the Bureau to serve a three day Demolition Notice on the 13th August 2018 which expired on the 15th August 2018”. Arulogun said that “the government had also received petitions subsequent upon three fatal accidents that occurred around Music house in the last nine months, as the petitioners urged the government to look at the physical structure of the organization in relation to the dual carriage way which lends itself easily to accidents”. He emphasised that “the government will do the needful and follow due process in accordance with the laws of the land but will not dignify or elevate the tantrums of Music House, Fresh FM”. >https://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/08/yinka-ayefeles-fresh-fm-demolition-not.html
