onuman: Kemi Badenoch said she escaped Nigeria and wouldn't want Britain to be like Nigeria. Why berate her for telling the truth? Referendum, for example, is the main ingredient of democracy through which nagging issues are resolved in a democratic country. Great Britain uses Referendum frequently. But Nigeria's constitution supervised by northern military dictators deny Nigerians the right of Referendum. More than 24 years after, this constitution is not changed by the FFKs and other politicians of Nigeria who see themselves as living in a modern country. Why? Does this not portray Nigeria as a country inhabited by subhuman beings? Portable was right. Fela died for not minding his business. Nigerians are ready to eat one of their own for attacking the government. Talk less of Kemi Nigerians are living in a dictatorship while they pretend they're in a democracy. |

Mindlog: What we should not discount is, her disconnect from her root is not a mere show but an innate impulsive behaviour of hers
She will certainly continue to be a member of her party even after she leaves the position she presently occupies,
Don't forget we have Jews who hate anything Jewish and are called "self-hating Jew" How has she disconnected from her roots? All she said is that she doesn't want other black people to identify with her simply based on her skintone. And she's right. She's more than that. She's a woman before she's black. |

After she leaves that position she presently occupies, she will not be coming to Nigeria to beg for assistance or political positions. So Nigeria has gotten nothing on her and whatever she says about Nigeria no dey stress me, I have better things to focus on. |

Women have been molesting young underaged boys since time immemorial and nobody talks about the plight of these abused lads but once the reverse is the case y'all find your voices. Not supporting any form of sexual relationship with minors but hypocrisy of you ladies in this matter is nauseating. Nonsense and double standards! Just shut it there. What is stopping those men from speaking out? Who is holding them? Are you expecting women to do the work for you? Last time I checked, it is other men that mock other men for being raped and that is why men don't speak out. It has nothing to do with women! |

Family › Re: Man In Shock As Family Member Asks Him To Pay School Fees For Her Child by 1Sharon(f): 8:17pm On Nov 07, 2024 |
1x2x3: It may indeed be true. I have an aunt in the U.S. who’s married to a Nigerian man. They’ve been unable to have children for over 20 years. About five years into their marriage, the husband decided to help his sister by bringing two of her children from Nigeria to the U.S. to live with him and my aunt. So, these children have basically been with them for around 15 years now.
Their mother would regularly send them packages with basic items—not because they needed them, but as a way to show her care.
Three months ago, something unsettling happened. She sent another package as usual. That day, my aunt left for work, leaving her husband and the two now-grown children at home. After bathing, the older child accidentally left a bar of native soap and a piece of paper with instructions in the bathroom. These instructions contained an incantation, which he was supposed to repeat while bathing. Shockingly, the incantation was along the lines of ensuring that the couple would not have children, so they’d continue to take care of him, his sibling, and their mother back in Nigeria.
My aunt's husband discovered the soap and the instructions, which exposed the situation. Well well well. This doesn't suprise me at all. They still hate your guts no matter how much you help them. Helping them is a reminder of what they lack and it makes them resentful. They even tried, still hosting them as adults. They should have adopted, at least the child will grow up and only know them. |

OfoIgbo: I can role with the bolded statement. The mission to claim Egusi as Yoruba is fraudulent. All I will add is that the version of egusi soup that has that global appeal is the Igbo version of egusi soup, as it contains ugu and those other traditional spices that make Igbo soups bang.
Just to improve my knowledge, which other Yoruba soup do you prepare with Ugu (ewekoro) ? Igbos prepare several soups with ugu, which proves ugu , (alongside ogili and ogili okpei) is second nature, when it comes to Igbo cuisine. Global appeal according to who? Why you just dey lie like this? |

OfoIgbo: You all speak from both sides of the mouth, one tells me that Ugu is not a Yoruba-used vegetable, while you are now telling me it is also a Yoruba-used vegetable.
So if egusi is universal as you are claiming, why did someone post a publication that suggested that Egusi soup was solely a Yoruba delicacy? Anyway my point still remains that Egwusi soup as is popular around the world at the moment, is an indigenous Igbo soup, as Igbos use condiments that are not used elsewhere. What about uziza? What about ogili okpei? The last question is the hammer that will beat your argument to death.
What the above questions prove is that the egusi soup that everyone seems to like, is the Igbo version, which doesn't negate the likely possibility that other people may have their versions of egusi soup.
The Igbo version must have ugu and ogili okpei. This is not the case with the egusi soups from elsewhere. Are you not grasping what I'm saying? Where did I say it's yoruba based? Yorubas eat ugu(ewekoro) too. That's the point. Heck, all the other tribes do aswell and they have their respective names for it. It's not exclusive to igbos. Yes. It's wrong for the topic to claim egusi soup belonged to yorubas as it's endemic to other west Africans. The word itself should be the main point. Once again, you add ogiri and ugu to your egusi, others add no leaves at all. So what? What does that prove? Do you think the congolese aren't adding ingredients, that are unique to them? No it's not my claim, it's a fact. Make your findings. Google mbika and see what comes up. Who is everybody? People in or outside Nigeria? Did other tribes abandon their way of making egusi for the Igbo way? What's your point exactly? As it stands right now, Egusi soup is a pan-west african dish for everyone. We can't pinpoint it's origins unlike jellof, another pan-west African dish. |
Politics › Re: Egusi (melon) Soup Is Owned By The Yorubas - Reno Omokri Proved(Pic) by 1Sharon(f): 9:25am On Nov 06, 2024 |
OfoIgbo: Ugu is the principal vegetable used in cooking Egusi soup.
So if you assert that Yorubas have never claimed Ugu, why are you trying to claim Egusi soup?
And for your information, you claim that THEY dropped DU to make the word EWEDU and not EWEDUDU. My question to you is this. Who are the THEY you are referring to?
I can also tell you that the SI in EgwuSI means COOK in Igbo language. I can easily ring up my folks in the village to bring up a word that contains EGU or EGWU, so that when it is joined to SI, it will make perfect sense.
But the point remains that the major points of this argument favour the Igbo origins of the Egusi soup. 1. The word that is ascribed to the soup is the only word in Igbo for melon. 2. You have even just admitted that Yorubas are not claiming ugu, which happens to be the chief vegetable for Egusi soup. 3. I am not certain whether there is a word for UZIZA, which is another condiment 4. I am even doubly certain that Yorubas don't use ogili okpei, which is a critical ingredient for preparing egusi soup.
cc. mrvitalis gidgiddy Okwyjesus Ngozi123 What does the Egwu part mean then? FYI, yorubas also eat Ugu! They call it Ewekoro and Igbos, specifically Ebonyi igbos eat ewedu. It's called ahingbara! Egusi soup is not the point here. The word is. Egusi soup is eaten all over West and Central Africa. In Congo it's called Mbika. You put ugu leaves in your soup, others add no leaves at all, so what? Let go of the main character syndrome. |

Fahvvy: You're right, 1 man is the cheat here as against 400 women - isn't it clear which gender cheats more? ...
Secondly, the bolded is an assumption, I could also infer that the women have cheated before, I mean, if they can cheat with this one, who's to say they haven't done so before? ...
Yeah you're right, if the genders were reversed, I would cry for the heads of those women ...
You know why? Cause a man cheating and a woman cheating is not the same thing! ...
Just like a man's money and a woman's money isn't the same thing ...
I mean, y'all ladies don't have an issue with the later, but then cry foul when it's the former, lol ...
Make each gender carry their cross in peace ... Yes. Since there is no evidence as you initially asserted, we can just speculate. There is evidence he cheated 400 different times with different women but again, maybe those women cheated with just him? Wat if he infected his wife with an STD? She should still stay because men and women cheating aren't the same? |
