CelebritiesThe Real Cause Of Prince The Legendary Musician's Death by 201320142015ob(op): 6:41pm On Jun 02, 2016
The singer Prince died of an opioid overdose, a US law enforcement official has told the Associated Press.
The official, who is close to the investigation, said this was established by tests after the singer's death in April at his Minneapolis home.
Detectives have already questioned a doctor who saw 57-year-old Prince twice in the weeks before he died.
Prescription painkillers were in the singer's possession following his death, officials told US media in May.
A police warrant has also revealed that Dr Michael Schulenberg prescribed medication to the singer on 20 April - the day before he died.
The warrant does not say what was prescribed or whether Prince took the drugs.
Local officials said after a post-mortem examination that there was no reason to believe that Prince's death was suicide.
Prince was a prolific writer and performer from a young age - reportedly writing his first song when he was seven.
A singer, songwriter, arranger and multi-instrumentalist, Prince recorded more than 30 albums. His best known hits include Let's Go Crazy and When Doves Cry.

Barrister Akpors who’s gone to the village
for Xmas celebration went hunting in a
nearby village. He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into
a farmer’s field on the other side of a
fence. As Barrister Akpors climbed over the
fence, an elderly gentleman asked him
what he was doing. He responded, “I shot a duck and it fell in
this field, I’m going in to retrieve it.” The old farmer replied, “This is my
property, and you are not coming over
here.” Arrogant Akpors said, “I am one of the
best trial attorneys in this country, and, if
you don’t let me get that duck, I’ll sue you
and take everything!” The old farmer smiled and said,
“Apparently, you don’t know how we do
things here. We settle small disagreements
like this with the Three-Kick Rule.” Barrister Akpors asked, “What is the
three-Kick Rule?” The Farmer replied, “Well, first I kick you
three times and then you kick me three
times, and so on, back and forth, until
someone gives up.” Barrister Akpors quickly thought about
the proposed contest and decided that he
could easily take the old farmer. He agreed to abide by the local custom. The old farmer slowly walked up to him. His first kick planted the toe of his heavy
work boot into Akpor’s groin and
dropped him to his knees. His second kick nearly wiped Akpors’
nose off his face. Barrister Akpors was flat on his belly
when the farmer’s third kick to a kidney
nearly caused him to give up. He eventually summoned every bit of his
will and managed to get to his feet and
said, “Okay, you old farmer, now it’s my turn.” The farmer smiled and said, “Now, I give up. You can have the duck.”

We will join hands together to fight illicit drugs to standstill in every nooks and crannies of this nation

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is a Federal agency inNigeria charged with eliminating the growing, processing, manufacturing, selling, exporting, and trafficking of hard drugs. The agency was established by Decree Number 48 of January 1990. The NDLEA is present in international airports, seaports and border crossing. It tries to eradicate cannabis by destroying plantings. The NDLEA also targets the leaders of narcotics and money laundering organizations.[1]

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Drug_Law_Enforcement_Agency

Drug cultivation

Former Chairman of NDLEA, Alhaji Ahmadu Giade, described illicit drugs as "alien" to Nigeria. Cannabis, now locally grown in most states of the federation, was introduced to the country by foreigners. Ms Dagmar Thomas, the Country Representative of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), says Nigeria was one of the largest cannabis growers in Africa, with over 8% of the population abusing cannabis. Annual cannabis seizures increased from 126 metric tones in 2005 to 210 metric tones in 2007.[2]The NDLEA describes the South West region of Nigeria as one of the main centers of illicit drug production in the country. 196.5 acres (0.795 km2) of cannabis farmland was discovered and destroyed in the region in 2008.[3] In particular, Edo State has the highest rate of seizure of cannabis in the country.[4] In April 2009, the NDLEA confiscated 6.5 tones of marijuana from the home of a man in Ogun State who claimed to be 114 years old.[5] In September 2009 the NDLEA reported destroying a 24 hectare Cannabis Plantation in a forest reserve in Osun State.[6]In January 2009, the NDLEA publicly burned 5,605.45 kilograms of drugs seized from traffickers in the historic town of Badagry, Lagos. The bonfire included 376.45 kilograms of cocaine, 71.46 kilograms of heroin and 5,157.56 tonnes of cannabis.[7] in 2015

Drug trafficking

The USA has donated full body scanning machines for the Lagos, Kano, Abujaand Port Harcourt international airports and has provided security training and orientation airport officers. The machines have proved effective in catching smugglers and couriers taking cocaine from Latin America to Europe by way of Nigeria. Between 2006 and June 2008 over 12,663 suspected drug dealers were arrested, with seizure of over 418.8 metric tonnes of various hard drugs.[8]For example, in July 2009 a woman about to board a KLM flight at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport was arrested by NDLEA officers and later excreted 42 wraps of cocaine, weighing 585 grams.[9] In September 2009, the NDLEA arrested a Guinean woman en route from Brazil to Europe with 6.350 kg of pure cocaine at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos.[10]In 2008 Nigeria was certified by the United States of America in the anti-narcotic crusade, for the eight successive time. President George Bush said that Nigeria had made significant progress in counter narcotics and had effectively co-operated with the United States on drug-related and money laundering cases.[11] In Katsina State alone, one hundred people were convicted for drug offences from January to May 2008, and 358 people were arrested for drug offences in this period.[12]

Drug Barons

Speaking of efforts to go after the organizers of the trade, Ahmadu Giade, chairman/chief executive officer of NDLEA in 2008 said the agency had seized N270 million worth of shares from drug barons, as well as cars, houses and other property worth hundreds of millions of Naira.[11]After a September 2009 meeting with the head of the Nigerian Immigration Service to discuss exchange of biometric data of convicted drug barons and traffickers, Giade said cooperation between the agencies would help deny passports to convicted drug barons.[13]

Controversy

The U.S. Department of State notes that there have been credible allegations of drug-related corruption at NDLEA. In late November 2005 NDLEA ChairmanBello Lafiaji was dismissed by President Obasanjo due to allegations of corruption and replaced by Ahmadu Giade, a retired deputy commissioner of police.[14]Bello Lafiaji’s continued vow and dedication to make life unbearable for drug merchants and strike them where it hurts the most made him a target of the drug baron as was evidenced in their connivance with some third party to frame him up in 2005.[15]Bello Lafiaji was wrongly convicted on June 21, 2010 of conspiracy and conversion of 164,300 euros seized from a drug suspect in November 2005 when he was the Chairman of the NDLEA. He was sentenced to four years in prison together with his personal assistant. They were investigated by Nigeria’s Independent and Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).[16]Lafiaji appealed his conviction and on November 22, 2011, a three-judge panel of Nigeria’s Court of Appeal in Lagos overturned Lafiaji’s conviction in a unanimous decision and held that the prosecution failed to prove its cases against the appellants beyond reasonable doubt.[17]Lafiaji was therefore discharged and acquitted by the Federal Court of Appeal Lagos, Nigeria.[17]In June 2003 the National Committee for the Reform of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency issued a report that identified a cartel of senior NDLEA members which arranged release of 197 convicted drug barons and couriers between 2005 and 2006, and recommended prosecution of these official.

CelebritiesFulani Herds Men Are Not After The Igbo People-oap Freeze Writes.. by 201320142015ob(op):
The popular OAP has weighed in on the recent
killing of Igbos by Fulani herdsmen..He says
contrary to information making the rounds,
Fulanis are not after Igbos and this should not be
used as a propaganda by those wanting to split
the country. He wrote I hereby offer my deepest condolence to
my brothers and sisters, the Igbo people.
The slaughter in Enugu was heinous to say
the least, and to imagine that such an act
could occur in 2016 is sickening. However,
the Fulani herds men are not after the Igbo people, like some are trying to insinuate, by
whipping up sentiment to incite and
instigate people. They are against anyone
who doesn't rear cows. They are a menace
and should be stopped by all means
necessary, including a 'shoot at sight' military order if the situation requires.
Nonetheless, we should take into
cognizance that not every Hausa or Fulani
man is our enemy, and even they are at the
mercy of these cattle herdsmen.
The Fulani people are estimated at 40million according to Adeyiga Adebayo, whose
detailed report on this menace can be
found online ....
In this report Adeyiga states "some local
Governments in Benue State were savagely
attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen who killed hundreds of people, torched
houses, sacked some communities and
occupied them. For instance in Ghajimba,
headquarters of Guma L.G.A., no less than
25 farmers were massacred." When I
brought up this argument on Facebook, a lady tackled me saying "we all know that
there are more chistians in Benue". What
about Katsina or Kaduna? Another portion
of the Adeyiga write-up states: "Again,
moments before President Goodluck
Jonathan’s recent visit to Katsina State, the Fulani struck there killing over a hundred
people. On Sunday March 16, 2014,
marauders believed to be Fulani herdsmen
attacked several communities under Maroa
Chiefdom in Southern Kaduna killing over
200 persons mostly women and children, burning many houses, farms and food
barns".
The report by Adeyiga Adebayo sheds light
on two potent issue, one being that the
herdsmen are not against Igbo people as
many are claiming and the other is that the menace is not new as Pres Goodluck
Jonathan was 'clueless' when it came to this
same matter, evidence of which can be
found in the premium times in an article by
Professor Iyorwuese Hagar. Let us keep it in perspective, that a Yoruba
elder states man Chief OLU Falae was
allegedly kidnapped by these same
herdsmen. So the war is not against the
igbos it's against Nigeria as a whole. This is
the opportunity some people have been waiting for to divide Nigeria, and with
sentimental manipulation through
propaganda, they are slowly but surely
getting there. However, if our search is for a
solution instead of whom to blame, then we
MUST stand together as a country to fight this menace!
