datolee:I dont have time for this back and forth nonsense. It is leading nowhere. Your argument is below par and significantly lacks any form of coherence. However, I will address one of your ridiculous submissions. It is only a novice, actually an incredibly and emphatically daft individual that will say that dialogue is "out of the way" because of a singular action, that clearly shows that you do not have a basic understanding of what you are saying. Let me educate you for a minute, in conflict resolutions, interested parties always have a myriad of tools available to them. Past errors, omissions or commissions do not necessarily overrule the opportunity for future negotiations. Like you mentioned earlier, Obasanjo authorised the killing of people in the ODI community but that did not stop the Yaradua government from having discussions and eventually reaching an agreement with the Niger Delta Agitators. I also gave the example of the agreement between the US and the Taliban in Afghanistan, both parties had previously attacked each other which led to severe loss of lives on both sides, yet, they were able to reach a compromise. Your darling president- GEJ is not proactive, instead of addressing this issue head on, well considering the massive loss of lives and property, he has embarked on name-calling, witch-hunting of perceived political opponents. For you to still be blaming the Obasanjo administration for the current problems of insecurity and terrorism clearly shows that you are not only insincere but very mischievous. All it takes is a strong leader with vision, courage and determination, these are qualities that I am sure you will agree with me, GEJ lacks. |

WHY IS GEJ CAMPAIGNING FOR BUHARI? IS HE BUHARI'S CAMPAIGN DG? Jonathan mentioned Buhari's name 9 times in today's flag off in Lagos. This is what we call, free and Unpaid publicity. How can a candidate pay millions to mobilize people from across many states to his flag off, only to be campaigning for another candidate?

gists:If you don't know the level of rot in the system before GEJ took over, you can not appreciate the efforts of GEJ in re-equipping the military. For your information, equipping the military was stopped right from 1985, during the reign of IBB. The reason for the stoppage was to curb military coups. For those asking what has been happening to defence budget since GEJ came to power, I will also ask you that have they been no defence budget since 1985 to 2009, before GEJ took over? The rot in the system was so much and only those with open mind will appreciate GEJ's effort at re-equipping the military. The Freedom Of Information law which came to being under GEJ administration has also exposed so much information to the public domain. These information were hitherto classified as secret to mere mortals like us. Don't forget also that some political opponents are not sincere while discussing issues because they want to pull GEJ down. I think GEJ is doing his best and only those with closed minds (for whatever reasons), who refuse to acknowledge the great rot in the society before GEJ took over will lay much blame on GEJ's administration. Please, lets appreciate GEJ efforts and give him the necessary support to succeed. |

| Re: mODIFIED by jukaizer(m): 5:46am On Jan 09, 2015 |
With this "Buhari did not buy a single rifle" situation, Buhari defeated the Maitastine uprising. Babangida used Ecomog to crush Charles Taylor's rebellion in Liberia, Abacha crushed Fonday Sankoh's in Sierra Leone and Nigeria participated in numerous peace keeping operations all over the world with commendation from the UN and AAU. I guess they accomplished these feats with bows and arrows. The president has not harnessed what weaponry is available to defeat the BH terrorists. Also he has had up to 5 years to improve on this. More importantly weapons alone do not win wars. You need well trained, highly motivated and well led troops to use them. I think the missing link here is motivation and good Leadership. The soldiers in the NE are also complaining of unpaid or underpaid allowances. The buck stops on the table of the president who has failed in his responsibility as the commander in chief. |
