2.) That the Yorubas made it known to
Ojukwu that they were not ready to go
into a secession war as at that time
because they were not ready militarily,
were already surrounded by Northern
populated military garrisons and to go to
war at that point will be sheer suicide
Every leader has a 'right and duty' to
protect the survival of its people, you will
agree. Awolowo did just that

Awo said should Biafra secede that the West will do the same, he did make mention of Northern soldiers stationed in Lagos. The west wasn't ready to join the East to liberate Lagos of Northern soldiers, but it was well ready to join Arewa in her match to the East. ( Of course this is the point you tell me the clock and bull story of the west remaining neutral until Banjo match to Ore leading Biafran forces, right?)

Awo not only didn't secede when the East seceded, he teamed up with the North to fight against the East, and would even suggest the use of starvation as a weapon of war. Awo didn't stop there, he would go on to suggest the 20 pounds policy against Ndiigbo after the war.
For a man who never believed in one Nigeria, Awo broke so many records to keep Nigeria one.

Of course, Awo's duty is the safety of Yorubas first, but if you achieve that safety on the blood of another, you shouldn't expect anything short of eternal enemity from such group.

Did Awo made it known to Ojukwu that the West was not ready to seceed?

Did Awo agree to seceed with Ojukwu?

5.) That Ojukwu in his military
'calculations and strategy', tried to force
Yorubas into the war, thinking he was
trying to open a second front and thereby
'stretch' the Nigerian Army. He also
wanted a psychological blow on the
federal govt by attacking Lagos. As a kid,
l remember him attacking and bombing
the Casino Cinema, at Alagomeji, in Lagos
mainland.

I have always heard Yorubas speak of Biafrans attacking Lagos, I wish Biafrans were able to attack Lagos, but the fact remains that that never happened, Biafran led Army was stopped at Ore by Nigerians, sabotaged by Banjo, probably because the Yorubas were not eager for the Northerners to be eliminated from Lagos after all. Awo was only bluffing.

Ojukwu match to Lagos was obviously and prompted by Awo's posture of being inability to eliminate the Northern soldiers from the West being the reason why he couldn't declare Odua republic, and the fact that the Northerners were headquartered at Lagos.

Was Lagos attacked/bombed by Ojukwu's Airforce plane?

Note: Nothing was wrong if Biafra attacked Lagos since it was a game of war between the two countries.

Was there any agreement/communication between Awo and Ojukwu, to librate the West from the Northerns by using biafra soldiers?]

If Ironsi had no hand in the January 15th 1966 Coup why was he made the head of state which was not constitutional?
see the lies you were spreading. He was not made head of state. Ironsi merely asked them to surrender the reins of power to him so he could restore peace in the heated entity called Nigeria.

Dipcharima and his fellow northern supporters of Balewa had no choice but to surrender for they feared use of force.

Do your research. I won't spoon feed you next time you run posting nonsense.

You are warned!

Why are you warning me?. I am as yoruba as they come. So if one says the truth, he is no longer yoruba again. You didn't address the fact that fulanis see our land as a war booty and Junaid mohammed(who is no longer blowing hot air since the daura man came aboard) once proclaimed that the calipahate will not ceed any inch of kwara if Nigeria breaks up, this is slavery. You need to address this facts instead of covering your face with your wife's panties when the truth is shown to you.

Akintola once referred to the University of Ibadan in which the Igbo VC elected to employ 109 Igbos and just 3 Yorubas right there in the Yoruba heartland. He mentioned this in a video aptly titled "Idi wahala laarin Yoruba ati Igbo". Now you think of it; what manner of a person can be so brazenly nepotistic? You bring a stranger into your house in the name of "Pan Africanism", then rather than feed your children, he starts taking your food to the land he came from. That person takes you for a great f0ol and has no iota of regard for you; neither does he know what decorum is.

That summarizes the problem. It goes beyond the civil war. It was there before the civil war, and it remained after.

We obviously can't ever be equal, I think the best thing is for us to go our separate ways.
A Yoruba cherishes his name, an Igbo man wants money at any cost an Hausa man prefers his cattle to his own child.

We all have different goals and idealogies and can't totally integrate not even in the next 300 years!
Let us divide, it is the best thing for us.
Nature divided us and we should accept it as God's plan.

you call Lagos land of yorubas, but call the oil of Niger Delta Nigeria's...

You don't set terms and definitions for a people, strong in their millions!!

Agreed!! Lagos belongs to the Yorubas, but you should also agree Niger Delta's oil is ND's

If you don't, then LAGOS HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO BE A NO MAN'S LAND!!
Exactly! this was what i said earlier in a thread today. Yoruba are so self centered and self conceited, they feel they are to smart and are so arrogant, otherwise who wakes up one morning and arrogate the title of most sophisticated to himself?

On one breadth, they say ND oil belongs to all Nigerians but Lagos belongs to Yoruba only in another breadth. useless, hypocritic leeches and double-faced cowards

Since all ironsi wanted was to restore peace to the country, he should simply have provided strong support for Dipcharima to take over as the prime minister as at that time. As the GOC, he was effectively in control of the military and since the coup already failed, he should simply have helped the elected civilian leaders to stabilise and restore order in the country. But instead, he forced them out and took over government. He even went ahead and promulgated the stupid unification decree that was the basis for the near unitary system of government we practise today.

You people should stop defending what is obvious, Ironsi was well aware of the plot before hand and he supported it covertly. He emerged as the major beneficiary of the plot and was justly killed in the reprisal attack.

[s]Sir, Is Ondo not part of ND. You guys call us parasite cos of oil but Ondo, a SW state produced more oil than the SE. Calabar was a former capital, but no one call it No man's land. There is nothing like no man's land in Nigeria, that is why we have the state of Origin in our constitution. There is also difference between Lagos state and Lagos Island[/s].
you have been running amok lime a lunatic on this thread spewing thrash. Why do yolobastards always scream that oil belongs to Nigeria? but will never admit that Lagos also belong to every Nigerian? Lagos state is our commonwealth, it was built by the oil proceeds from oil producing states and the sweat of hardworking Nigerians, hence is a no mans land. Deal with it.

Hmmmm! @ the bolded is interesting.

Do you mean Ironsi was not made Head of State by the coup plotters but HE merely made/asked them to surrender to him?

How did he make them(Democratic Government) to surrender to him(millitary officer), at gun point or willing? because you said they had no choice.

Are you saying they had no choice to handover to a constitutional next highest Government ranking official after the demise of the prime minister?

Or was it constitutional for Ironsi to become head of states?

Infact, does Nigeria have a Constitution as at that time? and if yes, What does the constitution states about the rightful person to be made interim Prime minister or whatever?
