At least one person has been confirmed dead after an explosion destroyed a storey building along Moore road in Ile Ife, Osun state last night. Though the cause of the explosion is being investigated, some residents in the area alleged it is most likely from an improvised explosive device.

An unidentified man, who was critically injured at the back of the building, was subsequently rushed to the Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife, where he later died in the early hours of today Sunday April 8th.

The explosion brought down the building and also damaged adjoining structures in the area.

The corpse of a little girl has left many in shock in Kano after it was spotted hanging from a window.

The little girl whose name was given as Khadija was found dead and her corpse hanging from the window of her house.

The young girl’s death has since created fear in the hearts of the residents in the area, as it is being alleged she was murdered and her corpse brought back by the killer and made to look like she took her own life.

The corpse has since been evacuated and police have started investigations.

A 40-year-old commercial bus driver has been arrested for defiling a 7-year old he calls his wife. the abuse which has been on for a while has now resulted in damaged bladder for the child, who now constantly urinates on herself.

The sad incident happened at a compound in Ilupeju PalmGroove area, Lagos State.

According to New Telegraph, the victim always visited the suspect identified as Baba Michael, but unknown to many, Michael violated the child on every visit.

The abuse came to the open after the girl continuously urinated on herself during an examination in school.

Her school management who suspected sexual violation alerted Child Protection Network when the girl urinated on herself in class.

Mrs. Ka , who spoke to newsmen and was contacted by her daughter’s class teacher said;

“She urinated on herself in the class during exams. It was her classmate, sitting close to her, that first noticed her unusual behaviour. “When her teacher sent for me, she said she thought it was the exam anxiety that made her to urinate on her body. She allowed her to continue with her exams. But a few minutes later, she urinated again.

‘The teacher and headmaster asked me if she had been bedwetting before then, I told them it was long she stopped. It was then I knew something was terribly wrong with my daughter. I started weeping,” the mother said. She explained that the headmaster further asked her the person that was fond of sending the victim on errands in their compound, but she couldn’t think of a single person. Lawal had always encouraged her children to be respectful and run errands for people older than them.’

“Before I got to her school, the management had invited Child Protection Network, a human rights group. After much interrogation, my daughter confessed that it was Baba Michael, our neighbour, who defiled her. Baba Michael just moved into our compound two months ago. He lives with his uncle and fourmonth- old baby.

‘It is my daughter that usually takes care of the little baby. She also used to run errands for the man. I didn’t know something like that was happening right under my nose. However, I noticed that the man usually calls all young girls in the compound his wife.” After revealing her ordeal, the victim was taken to Mirabel Centre, atLagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), where it was confirmed she had been defiled.

Comrade Toyin Okanlawon, The Child Protection Network Coordinator, confirmed that the suspect has been arrested.


“We were able to arrest the suspect through the support of his uncle. My advice to parents and guardians is to take good care of their children, especially the girl-child. They should prevent them from staying in isolated places.”

President Muhammadu Buhari has described the passing away of South-African anti-apartheid icon, Mrs Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, as a huge loss to Africa of a courageous woman.

The President noted that she was a woman of uncommon determination, steadfastness and perseverance who held aloft the torch of the struggle against institutionalised discrimination even while her ex-husband, the late Madiba, President Nelson Mandela was incarcerated.

President Buhari, on behalf of the government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, commiserated with the family of the deceased, the government and people of South Africa urging them to be consoled by the knowledge that the late Winnie Mandela’s contributions to ending apartheid will not be forgotten.

The apostle who couldn’t hide his excitement also gave his wife, Lizzy Suleman a ‘holy kiss’ in front of everybody.

The man of God used the opportunity of the celebration to extend blessings in kind and cash to the less endowed of the society, including his church members, educational institution, and even students.

He offered Benue State government N5 million in aid for the people in the state displaced by recent herdsmen/farmers’ clashes.

OFM church workers who have continued to dedicate themselves to God’s service, were blessed with N32 million by Apostle Suleman. The man of God also donated a 133kva electricity transformer to the medium security prisons in Auchi, while a widow was blessed with a befitting house fully furnished.

A block of classrooms was also donated to a secondary school in Akpekpe, Etsako Central Local Government Area, Edo State and the tuition fees of students under his ‘Apostle Suleman Scholarship Fund’ were fully paid.

In Ibadan Chief Magistrates’ Court in Oyo State has remanded an 82-year-old, Prince Aminu Musa Oyebamiji, at Agodi Prison, for alleged N41 million fraud.

The suspect was arraigned on a three-count charge of felony to wit obtain money under false pretence,The Nation reports.


The offences were said to be punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. 11 Laws of Oyo State, Nigeria 2000.

The charge sheet said the offences were committed in June 2015 in Alalubosa, Ibadan.

Oyebamiji and others were accused of obtaining money from Mr. Adeniyi Aderemi on the pretence of awarding him a contract to rehabilitate Ahoda through Baminco Nigeria Ltd, from Agip Company.

The third count said Oyebamiji and members of his group on the same date, time and place stole N41 million, belonging to Aderemi.

The suspect pleaded not guilty.

Chief Magistrate Jejelaye Ogunbona granted the accused bail at N2.5 million with two sureties.

He said the sureties must be well-known in the community, preferably landlords, who must be ready to deposit the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) or conveyance of the property with the registrar.

He adjourned till May 3 for further hearing

The deceased who served during the administration of late President Umaru Yar’Adua. died on Saturday after a protracted illness. He died at a Turkish Nizamye Hospital in Abuja.

Lawal, will be buried on Sunday according to Islamic rules. He will be laid to rest at his town, Keffi Local Government Area, in Nasarawa State.

He is survived by his two wives, children and relatives.

According to Adeboye, any pastor who does that is not from God. in his words;

Any man who anoints women on their breasts is not from God.The head is the headquarters for the anointing in your body. Search your heart and be honest with yourself if you have missed it in your relationship with God. Holiness is crucial in sustaining the anointing because whenever the anointing dries up, the devil steps in. It is better never to be anointed than to be an ex-anointed. If you abuse anointing, it can destroy you. Samson is an excellent example. To be specially anointed, you must be holy.

Senator Ali Wakili, has died at the age of 58.

According to reports Wakili, who represented Bauchi South in the Senate, died after he slumped at his Gwarimpa residence, on Saturday morning March 17th. He was immediately rushed to Viewpoint Hospital, where he was eventually certified dead.

At about 1:30pm today, his funeral prayers will be held at the National mosque Abuja after which, his remains will be laid to rest.

Wakili was reportedly on his way to Yola this morning and had called his driver to get himself but slumped not long after.
