Alex’s mom in her video disclosed that Nigerians should please overlook her daughter’s shortcomings and vote for her. About her crying spree displayed in the house on Sunday, March 11, when Leo and Ifunnada were evicted from the house, Alex’s mom revealed that her daughter picked that up from her and that she should be forgiven.

She said:

“Good evening my people, my name is Mrs Ebere Asogwa from Enugu state, Nigeria. I am the mother of Alex who is currently in the Big Brother Naija house, she is my biological child and I raised her myself so I can tell a lot about her. Alex is a very emotional person, when she gets angry and does not want to react, she cries it out just like me. She picked it from me. Initially I was angry about the way she cried when Leo was evicted and I had to ask myself so many questions about what is happening but I answered the question myself. All she did was picked from me, even as a mother when I get angry and I don’t want to be harsh on anyone I move to a corner and cry it out. Unfortunately there is no hiding place in BBNaija because there are cameras everywhere so you all see her crying all the time. Please all of you that picked on her on the way she cried should please forgive her, I have forgiven her. She has apologized during her dairy session on Monday. I forgave her in most ways that offended all of us because she has realized her mistakes. At a time she was withdrawn from activities in the house but I thank God she has come back to her senses. I thank you all that have been voting and praying for her because this has kept her going thus far. Ten people have gone but Alex is still there, we thank you all.”

Newshelm Nigeria has come across a statement announcing the divorce of a couple that got married in January, 2018.

The couple, Omorode and Doris, claimed that they decided to get a divorce after they discovered that things were not working out between them.

The statement was shared on a Facebook page known as Sapele Oghenek.

It was gathered that the couple who tied the knot in January, divorced on Monday, March 12. In the statement, the couple stated that they made the decision to get a divorce because things were not working out between them. The man identified as Omorode noted that his wife, Doris, is now a free woman.

Omorode said he has decided with his wife that none of them should go close to each other after the divorce. He urged people to help them announce their divorce.

"From the couple Mr Omorode and Doris , we just divorce now, because the thing nor work. It is good to divorce than for one to die in marriage, I, Mr Omorode have declared that Doris Omoraka is a free woman. She can move with her friends from now upwards. In case anybody see or saw her from today 12th of March 2018, they should know that I Omorode and Doris are not together and she is now free. I Omorode have decided that Doris should not come close to me please, and I will never go close to her. Please inform Sapele, Delta State Nigeria and the world at large that we are done. Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has advised the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to intensify preparations for the World Cup as Nigerians will not accept failure at the Mundial.

Speaking during a Courtesy Visit by the President of the Nigeria Football Federation at the Government House Port Harcourt on Monday , Governor Wike said that exiting the World Cup at the group stage will be unacceptable to Nigerians.

According to Governor Wike: “If you fail to advance beyond the group stage, don’t bother to return. Find excuses to stay there in Russia. Nigerians expect the best from the Super Eagles. That is why the NFF must intensify preparations.”

Governor Wike urged the management of the NFF to close ranks and work in unity for the development of football in the country.

“There must be disagreements, but these disagreements should be platforms for Development. Disagreements should not destroy the place. It should make NFF stronger “, he said.

The governor said that the State Government is using football as a source of empowerment for the youths.

In continuation of the Nigerian army's Exercise Cat Race, troops on patrol to Yeas, Kaseyo and Ukaa villages in Nasarawa state came across abandoned cattle crazing on a farm land.

The cattle were driven out of the farm into custody in Awe local government area of the state, a statement by the director, army public relations, Brigadier-General Texas Chukwu said.


Similarly, troops while on patrol along road Ayilamo, Tomata and Kwantan Sule settlements accosted 3 herdsmen, armed with machetes deliberately grazing their cattle on a farmland thereby destroying it. “Suspects were arrested and handed over to the police for further action. “The patrol continues to protect communities and deny armed herdsmen / militia freedom of movement and action,” the statement said. Last week, the troops recovered locally made weapons in some villages in Taraba state.

The recovery was made during a conduct of cordon and search operations at Kwesati and Tati villages across Ussa and Takum local government areas of the state.


“During the process of the condon and search ,the alerted troops recovered 5 weapons and have been back loaded. Troops continue to make progress as the exercise proceeds at pace,” a statement by Brigadier General Chukwu, said.
