Nigerian transgender, Ms Iris Sahhara Henson has emerged winner of the World Transgender pageant, Eat Bulaga, which held in the Philippines last night. Announcing her victory, Sahhara wrote about her excitement at winning on Facebook. "OMG! I won. I am still not sure it is a reality! Maybe I'll wake-up from this amazing dream in a minute! My arm is turning red from me constantly pinching myself to wakeup from this beautiful dream! I am overwhelmed with love! Philippines is truly my home away from home. Multiple awards winning singer, Davido, following rumours that he received his BET award backstage, has explained why he was not handed the statuette during the show’s live broadcast. The HKN artiste, who recently won in the Best International Act (Africa) category, at the BET Award, spoke exclusively to Channels Television, revealing that he received his award at an official pre-awards event and not backstage as speculated over various social media platforms.
According to Davido, the whole scenario was misunderstood as he denied receiving his plaque backstage.‘There are about 15 categories that are not mentioned in the show.When I won my award,because they do the pre-show just like MTV MAMAS i instagramed it immediately before the show started so people were speculating that I got my award backstage.No.but after I collected my award, I took the picture backstage with my phone .But if you watch the BET Award they show here, you would see I collected my award on stage.’

As the World Cup finals come closer, Fifa has also announced the list of the final ten player contending for the Golden Ball award.For this year, Fifa has counted in Lionel Messi and Neymar on a 10-player list of candidates to be named the World Cup's best player. In an interview with Punch Newspaper, rising Nigerian pop sensation Orezi discussed his steady rise in the music industry, how it is very political and the botched deal with Davido.
The “Rihanna” singer revealed why he is in no worry to release an album yet, “In Nigeria, artistes do not make money from albums. This is due to the fact that it involves making arrangement with marketers for a pay-off or percentage of proceeds from the album sales. Most Nigerian artistes usually settle for a pay off that may not exceed N5m at most. An album costs more than N5m to produce. But albums increase acceptance, popularity and fan base, which is where the money comes from.Some people always take sides with certain artistes because they are their favourites. Whatever it is that the other artiste does or merits, he or she will not get it because he or she isn’t favoured. Politics is big and killing the Nigerian music industry.” he said.
And on not signing the deal with Davido, Orezi said that, “It was not favorable to me at the time. We decided not to do it at the time because we were both neck-deep in our careers.It was not perfect at that time. Davido was on tour and I was doing my own thing and had other offers I thought was better. I have no regrets about not signing on to Davido’s label. We are friends and not rivals. I don’t see anyone as a competition or a rival. I wake up every morning thinking of how I can be number one.”
