Ahmodu was clearly the best local coach we had in the 90s.

If Amodu was the coach that handled Shooting against Zamalek, they would have won

Dont forget he was seconded to help 3sc from semi final in 1996 to final.

It was at that time he bought a house in Ibadan

Shooting was just unlucky man.

very painful game. another painful one was J-berger vs JSK
our teams have lost some games they shouldnt have lost.

All were due to rubbish home games. Our teams dont usually take their chances at home only for them to go away and then be at the mercy of those North Africans

can you guys remember our game against Algeria? the last game of the WC qualifier?
i nearly urinated in my pants when the pressure was almost too much.
Agbonibavre was outstanding that day against all expectations

Take this one home as your coursework grin

Shooting stars was relegated from first division sometimes in the '80s. A prominent player was involved in them going down. Who is this player? One particular match decided their fate. What match was that? One Rich man was rumoured to be involved. Who is this man? I need about 150 words on this.

Submission date: Tommorow @ 2000hrs GMT

Hint: [size=6pt]Go and ask old man grin

Akola and his multiple questions. . . . .

Shooting Stars relegated in 1987. . . . . . .Came back in 1989.
They lost a game on the final day of the season to Calabar Rovers(A game many thunk they shoulda won) cos it was played in Ibadan.
Unfortunately, they lost. I dunno if any rich man was rumoured to be involved(I couldn't have seen that on tape).
A defender was blamed for the loss but i will find out his name later.

And berger did score an away goal in the return leg. Dolphin did the same thing in the first confederations cup final loosing 3-0 in the return leg final after taking a 2 goal lead to Rabat. angry

I like the unpredictability of 3SC. . . . . . .
They have that uncanny ability to capitulate.
One season they are league champions, the next season they get RELEGATED.
Can u beat that??

Raymond King or Edward Ansah.
King used to be the goalie but then Leventis got disbanded and Ansah made a move to Abiola babes.

Did Ansha goes straight to Abeokuta or Owerri?

You didnt answer my question.
You only told us about the match and what time it was played.
an uncle could have told you all that grin
@Eastbay
You are right.
Ogbein fawole and Taiwo Ogunjobi were the centre backs in the match
and Ogbein Fawole nodded in the own goal that broke 'Sooting' stars fans' hearts.

Next question.
Wakilu Oyenuga was a deadly striker in Nigeria in the early 80's for Stationery Stores of Lagos.
What was the perculiar thing about most of the goals he scored in his career?

I repeat again and again, you are wrong.

1) Goalkeeper Edward Ansah did not play for Abiola but went to Spartans(iwuanyanwu nationale) of Owerri with his country man John Benson.

2) Go and do more research on the shooting stars one very well. Bye phone cards and phone Nigeria but dont phone DSTV guys

Wakilu Oyenuga scored ahuge percentage of his goals with his head.

Says who??
Mutiu Adepoju was undoubtedly the original headmaster.
His aerial prowess extends beyond the shores of the Nigerian league. . . . .He took it to Saudi 89 where he scored a smasher against USA in the semis.
Scoring against Kasey Keller in 1989 is like scoring against 5 Petr Cechs in goal.

Mutiu does it for both club and country.

Do it in Ibadan!
Do it in Lagos!!
Do it in Saudi!!!
Do it in Spain !!! and

Capped it up in the world cup.

1) Who wears Naija's number 10?

2) What extra duty does our 3rd scorer does for the Flying eagles?

1)Dimeji Lawal. . . . . .The same player that brought out the revival of 3SC when they relegated in 1987.
He wore number 9 for the Golden Eaglets in Canada 87 and was the only Naija player who scored his penalty against USSR in the final.

2)Sam Elijah?? What does he do??
He was an absolute waste of space for the Flying Eagles but was lucky to score his only goal in the tournament in the Damman Miracle.
The major performers were Ohenhen, Adepoju, Onyemachara, Dimeji Lawal, Bawa Abdulahi.
Jimoh Balogun had a quiet tournament though.

Hehehehehe. . . . . .AKOLA is lost. grin grin

Video man!!

Please ask the fellow giving you half truth-half lie to join Nairaland. He will be much welcome here.

(1) Dimeji was not a member of that 3sc team=====Gbam!

2) Samuel Elijah was a very important in both 3SC and flying eagles. A masterclass of a defender! . He is the Pastor of the team on and off the field. They unanimously call him Prophet Elijah.

Understand NOW?

I said Dimeji Lawal was instrumental to 3SC's revival after relegating in 1987.
He brought em back to the Division 1 in 1989.
Read ma comments carefully, Akola. . . . .He wasn't part of the team that relegated but he brought about the revival of 3SC AFTER they RELEGATED.

Pastor ko, Evangelist ni. . . . . . .
His only good match was the 4-4 miracle of Damman.
The best players in that tournament were Chris Ohenhen, Adepoju and Osundo was outstanding in the first game against Saudi Arabia.

Lemme give u a quick quiz.
Who scored Portugal's goal against Flying Eagles in the 2nd group game of that tournament.
