anonimi: They are both water loving animals and the hippo can swim. The rhino has a large horn on it's nose , while the hippo has sizeable , strong teeth they have both been regarded as the biggest killers in africa. Males are very territorial and would attack and often kill humans , large cats and any other animal which strays into their often large territory. 2 Likes 1 Share |

ronald4lif:Endangered animals being killed anyhow. We are very far behind East African countries in conservation. Oil has really messed us up. If we needed wildlife tourism to make hard currency, sense for dey all these our coconut heads 4 Likes |

These are endangered species why drive them out of extinction, as human beings we have so populated the world and pushed these animals out of their natural habitat, hence we seldom find these animals straying into our environs pls stop killing these animals rather we can have them placed in game reserves in help protect their population. The other day i saw people celebrating in lagos that they killed a python come on they can be caught and placed in a zoo. 1 Like |

This breaks my heart. I paid kings ransom in 2004 to go on safari to see these animals both in Malawi and Botswana. I have been to many parts of the world, but seeing those beats in Africa then was a humbling experience that has ever stayed with me. It's heart wrenching seeing rare animals being killed everyday by illiterates. I thought these animals are protected by law because of their engendered status. You even have a bunch of bushmen on Nairaland supporting such a barbaric act. 1 Like |

kITATITA:My brother, I DON'T JUST KNOW! Yet we intend to have a tourism industry. Are the tourists only gonna come see hills, rocks, caves, forests and no wildlife?? Today we see pictures of giant snakes killed for no reason, the next day, a hippo. It is high time those redundant legislators make laws criminalising these acts. Let them be allowed under conditions of self defence only. |

gbishman:It is a very pathetic situation honestly. They just kill these animals for meat and nothing more, then proudly display the pictures like the fools they are. I just get so pissed off looking at these pics. If the white man calls us barbarians we go dey vex. Isn't this act of wanton killings barbaric?? Ps: the hippo is not among the endangered species though. Maybe you confuse them for rhinos. |

Won't it have been better for these folks to capture and sell the creature alive?? They could have made more money than just feasting on this creature. 1 Like 1 Share |
