not easy to win cases against universities. And he or she will be suing on a wrong premise. In Nigeria, U are not supposed to have access to your transcript in the first place.
So they come to court and present a transcript of yours, after panel beating and say it is your true and certified transcript.

Yes something can be done about it. If a University can withdraw a certificate retrospectively then they can also correct a mistake that they have made.

Get a lawyer to write to the school stating the facts and request for an amendment to he result. Your friend may wish to do so on his own if he doesn't want to spend any money. ]

if the university can hold down any mistake that favoured the student then the student should do same. i want to ask you do you have any record of your own result if not think twice. because if you start this claimed and it result to the same CGPA the dept may take it up against you but if you are SURE then contact the HOD of the dept but dont popularise it. AND PLS CONFIRM what your claim. This can also be a TYPICALGRAPHICAL ERROR on the part of the typist. wish u goodluck.

Are you saying you don't know how to calculate your CGPA? If you know, then the one from the school is wrong and not yours.

A serious minded student calculates his/her CGPA semester by semester. At your final year you must have known your CPGA which will be 98-99% same with that of the school.

Most students know their cgpas and often estimate it before results are released. I am surprised that he/she didnt know the cgpa upon graduation. Considering how close to the borderline it was. Calculating it 11yrs afterwards shows incompetence or that the person deserves the 2:2. Pun intended

It's going to be challenging, but if you win your case, you might even be compensated by the school by falsifying your result. For me, I think you should consider taking them to court for compensation. Its not your fault

na this kind tin do me for school, all my effort to raise my cgpa , poved abortive, until i gave up hope , but i realised in 300l , after the correction i bounced back to my original postion, and all hell broke loss, i gave it my last shoot in 400-500l. Glory be the God .

Surely, it will be corrected.
Write to your department HOD, copy the Head of Faculty, Exams and records, and it will be sorted.
Be very nice with your first letter, if no response, write a second one that should be personally delivered.
Thirdly, involve a lawyer as you are to be compensated for lost of earnings, opportunities, promotions, and ease of life.
A good school will reply with apologies.
If the matter takes too long, publish it, grant interviews to the press.

So now that we know it's you.

You can actually take it back to the School, to the Exams and Records to be specific.

If you are correct.

They will then forward it to your former department, who in turn will correct their records. And then forward it back to the Senate of the University for correction.

After corrections , the Senate will approve a new result/certificate for you.

Before you leave the School, make sure you reconfirm from the Exams and Records that it has been corrected in their section.
