TimothyNkenu: Mine was in high school.
There are usually weekly inspections and they start with the girls' hostels first.
That Saturday, they decided to start with the boys hostel and I was not ready so I hid in the ceiling.
I'm hearing a sound. "Lord, what am I hearing?" I asked God from my soul and before I got a reply ----
"Gbrroooaaaa" the ceiling don break and there came Nkenu dropping down.

Tolexander: My own serious o!
I drafted a love letter when I was in sec school, I sent my friend to help me to tell a SSS1 gurl I had crush on to meet me at the entrance to the toilet. I was in SSS2.
She came, I talked and gave her the letter. Unknowing to me, one of our teachers was in the toilet eavesdropping to our conversation. He just came out, before I could run, he called my name cos he knew me. He collected the letter from her.
The following morning, I feigned being ill but mum wouldn't allowed me to stay at home. She insisted I must go to school. On the assembly ground after the national anthem, the teacher mounted the pulpit and called the girl and I out. He told the girl to read the letter and she did. He beat me and told me to bring my parents.
It was so embarrassing! I feel for you bro anyway it has passed now |

Politics › Nine Kogi State Workers Die Due To Non Payment Of Salaries by 2dillu2(op): 9:22am On Aug 10, 2015 |
Nine of the 142 staff placed on compulsory leave without pay since 2011 by the Kogi State Transport Company have died. Two colleagues of the deceased persons, Ndakwo Mohammed and Anate Audu, made this known in a statement circulated to media houses in Lokoja on Sunday. Messrs Mohammed and Audu said a number of their colleagues were also facing life-threatening situations . They said that the workers who had put in years of services, ranging from 10 to 23 years, are facing untold hardship with their health failing because they neither have money to feed nor to pay for medical treatment. “Many of us have been ejected out of our houses and our children chased out of schools due to our inability to pay rents and schools fees,” the statement said. All efforts to seek redress through the intervention of the state house of assembly and several letters to the state governor, Idris Wada, were unsuccessful, the workers said. The Kogi State Transport Company had, through a circular dated June 30, 2011 and signed by its General Manager, Augustine Tokula, directed all the 142 members of staff of the company to immediately proceed on compulsory leave without pay. The fate of the workers have since then been hanging in the balance as the government has continued to remain silent on the matter. Messrs Mohammed and Audu appealed to the state government to take a definite position on their matter, saying that they could no longer live with their present condition. The workers also indicated their plans to embark on peaceful protests on major streets of Lokoja. The State Security Service and the police have been notified of the plan, the workers said. whirlwind7: On behalf of all snake in naija, this letter of appeal goes out to everyone out there.
It is with a genuine feeling of dread and fear of extinction that we are pleading for mercy and leniency from all denizens.
We know that we are greatly despised and abhorred by almost everyone. We understand that, and we have been living with it for generations. Perhaps it's because the Creator permitted the devil to take our appearance when he deceived Eve in Eden's garden. Or perhaps it's because the very sight of our magnificently slithering and sexy body evokes a primordial fear in humans?
Whatever the reason may be, kindly note that we were all created by the same source. We have the right to eat, breathe and shyte like everyone else.
We can actually point you in the direction of better and more fulfilling targets to quench your lust for our wholesale slaughter: Your politicians!
Do to your corrupt politicians what you have been doing to us, and we more than guarantee you, that we would both have better living conditions. Politicians' poor environmental preservation policy has contributed to the destruction of our natural habitats. We need shelter, just like everyone else!
We believe a plate of catfish pepper soup beats the flavour of a serpentine treat, anyday, anytime.
Live and let live. Thank you. Kindly join us to observe this moment of silence for our departed comrade. We shall overcome!
Signed: Committee for a better human and serpent relationship. excellent |

Ginaz: I dont think its a good ideal because the marriage is involving two families. the families need to know each other and will act as a pillar to the young couples in troubles times.
I know family can be frustrating sometimes, you can limit them completely only when you have started your family. but when two couples are about getting married, both families needs to be involved and introduced. well said |

Politics › Guinea Offers To Help Nigeria And Other Countries Fight Bokoharam by 2dillu2(op): 9:23am On Aug 06, 2015 |
Guinean President, Alpha Conde, said on Wednesday that the country was ready to help in the regional fight against Islamist militants, Boko Haram. "We are ready to provide any assistance asked of us... in the fight against Boko Haram," Conde told a press conference in Niger's capital, Niamey, at the end of a two-day visit. "It will depend on what our brothers (in Nigeria and neighbouring countries) ask. That's for them to tell us what they want from us," he added, hailing the determination of President Muhammadu Buhari to fight against the insurgents. Last week, the Nigerian commander of a new multinational force set up to fight Boko Haram Islamists pledged to bring an end to their six-year insurgency 'very soon.' The force will contain troops from Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger and Chad, with Benin also committed to help. The 8,700-strong force has its headquarters in the Chadian capital, N'Djamena. Conde stressed that "whatever the will of Niger or Chad, there must first be a strong involvement of Nigeria." Politics › Minimah: Bokoharam A Tool To Advance Political And Sectional Interests by 2dillu2(op): 8:27am On Aug 06, 2015 |
The immediate past Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Kenneth Minimah (rtd.) has stated that the fight against Boko Haram lingered for such a long time because it was used as an effective tool to advance political, religious, and sectional interests in the country. Minimah however said that with strict disciplinary measures he instilled through various Court-Martials, he was able to turn the table against the terrorists that they could no longer mount an open warfare against the Nigerian military. The former COAS made these remarks on Wednesday during his valedictory speech on the occasion of his Pulling Out Ceremony at Mogadishu Cantonment Parade Ground, Abuja. According to him, the country could have defeated Boko Haram if there was a united voice in the counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations against the Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East. He said: “Boko Haram may have its greatest impact in Nigeria but its ability to hurt other nation’s interests no matter the distance is real. In the last decade, we have seen the extent to which people who harbour evil against their fellow humans can go to inflict pain and death on innocent people. “This is the time for all to rise in unison to not only condemn but take actions against the activities of the Boko Haram terrorists and other criminal elements in order to foster peace and security in our society.” Source Scan News http://scannewsnigeria.com/news/minimah-boko-haram-a-tool-to-advance-political-religious-and-sectional-interests/Lalasticlala Ishilove |

NYSC › NYSC May Soon Be Voluntary DG by 2dillu2(op): 8:27pm On Aug 05, 2015 |
President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged that his administration will take all necessary actions to maintain and improve the National Youth Service Corps scheme as a functional vehicle for the promotion of national unity and integration.
Mr. Buhari gave the assurance after receiving briefing from officials of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, led by the Permanent Secretary, Rabi Jimeta.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Johnson Olawumi, also told the President that there are plans to make the scheme voluntary so as to reduce the corps population and sustain it.
The president affirmed his confidence and trust in the scheme, saying that the objective for which the scheme was established in 1973 was still very relevant for national development. He said, “I firmly believe in NYSC and I think it should remain a national programme to promote integration.
“Whenever I go home to Daura, I look out for corps members from Lagos, Aba and other parts of the country.
“I am always thrilled to learn that except for the NYSC, some of them have never left their states of origin to visit other cities in the country.”
Ms. Jimeta had informed the president that the increasing number of NYSC members was a challenge to the scheme due to dwindling revenue from the national budget to cater for their needs.
She also told the president that the annual enrollment of corps participants had increased from 2,364 at inception in 1974 to 229,016 in 2014.
She added that “given the increasing number of tertiary institutions, our projection is that the number of participants may rise to 300,000 by year 2020″.
