It is not an issue outsourcing customer support. There is no problem with that, these telcom companies can as well ensure that the outsourcing company is up to par and can deliver excellently. In this case it will just be a matter of info sharing. Give them all the information needed and necessary. Well trained customer support agent with the right information is GOLD!!!

You're right but problem is "info sharing" ain't so fluid in such outsourcing arrangement, especially when the Call Center operators have other clients that might even be competitors.

This is a very big problem with the corporate world. Customer support/service is a major part of any organization. It can make or mar a business. Issues such as customer call wait time, lack of sufficient knowledge about company products and services, call etiquette, are very poor in our clime. And these companies either do not take it serious or those in charge of these departments don't even bother. Customer support should be the most knowledgeable when it comes to products and services because these are the first point of call for any customer.

This is what you get when telcoms outsource customer services to Call Center firms

If I recall the guy's budget is in the 25-30k range, I'll rather advise he walks into a GSM village/market in the city resides & get a foreign used ZTE, Huawei or HTC phone than to experiment with an unknown brand.

A colleague of mine still uses the 13k Huawei I advised him to buy since late 2017. Can you vouch for this soda phone lasting more than a year?
