Loneley: Nice, you can't go wrong with a KZ.
Got a KZ ZS5, Sony SBH20, Rock Zircon, and a MEMT X5, last year, hoped to build a collection of decently priced, but fairly high quality earpieces to pair with Poweramp, amongst others, but alas, a year after, only the ZS5 is alive.
Might still resume from where I stopped though. You must really love your music KZ is bae |

bigtt76: The theme you use sometimes affect the proper display of settings. I'm using My Oreo theme and each time I check for miui updates, that blue button to click is missing but when I changed to the default Miui theme, it reappears Change back to your default theme and see if you can find the settings there. Thanks for your input but it's still the same, I think it's caused by my current system update. Somewhere in the change log they made mention of "settings on the lock screen". Obviously it's not implemented correctly |

Mrcalxy: Someone already showed the way... Just go to Settings- notification & status bar- then deactivate it What version of MIUI 10 are you on? Mine is 10.0.4.0 and this issue became prevalent after I did my last update. That's why I believe it's a bug. That particular option is missing on mine and that's one particular setting I always disable since from my days of redmi note 3.

Eeechenmeelee1: I am not talking about notifications, I am referring to MIUI quick settings tiles on the lockscreen that can be toggled even if a xiaomi phone is locked with a fingerprint/pin MIUI 10 infuses the quick settings and notification together so they go hand in hand, you're obviously new to this. If you're so picky with MIUI design language there's the Mi A2 with pure Android to choose from |

Protein0: read my post again sir.
I didn't state d main cause of their predicament, because I don't know. It was my believe on a contributory factor I stated and I was "almost" certain, and sounded like there were more. Stop blaming Nigeria for gionees woes bro. Prior to this predicament how many folks even use gionee? |

scotweezy: Check your settings very well. The option to disallow toggles on locksceen is there.
Modify: Well, I can't seem to find the option, but I felt I disallowed this particular feature on another version entirely. Maybe the option is not available on MiUi 10 again I will check further though, incase It's still available. It is allowed on MIUI 10, only disappeared with the last update |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 2kurupt(m): 8:57pm On Nov 28, 2018 |
Eeechenmeelee1: I suspect there is a reason why standard AOSP only allows torch to be toggled from lockscreen, eg you may plug your phone to charge in an out of sight position n someone else can toggle your data connection from the lockscreen, if you don't check your phone you'll never know your data connection was changed. I'm just saying Google obviously have better paid designers than Xiaomi n they chose well to only allow the torch to be toggled from the lockscreen, my 2cents There is an option to hide notifications in the lock screen on MIUI for as long as I can remember. It's just a bug that will be fixed in the new update. Seems you're just discovering MIUI |

Agbi4: I understand that factory defects do occur but no one wishes for that. Hopefully I won't be needing a repairer ever again. The thing is that the powerbank has been swollen for some months, I should have replaced but I didn't see the need to because I rarely use it because before I run out of charge, power will be restored. The OEM charger damaged the phone because it's what I have been using to charge it. That's a first, Kpele. But the isolated nature of your issue makes it hard to blame it on the charger except other phones used with it are malfunctioning too |

ProFuhrer: In the Nigerian market, quick charging and battery capacity are very important when considering medium-priced phones. There's nothing like Nigerian market in this matter. Nigerian consumers are getting wiser by the day. Soon people will see through the trickery of Tecno and infinix |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 2kurupt(m): 8:38pm On Nov 28, 2018 |
Eeechenmeelee1: Also forgot to mention, I can't be the only one that has noticed that you can toggle all quick settings tiles on MIUI lockscreen even if the device is locked with fingerprint/pin, isn't that a security oversight by Xiaomi? On AOSP the only toggle that works from the lockscreen is the torch, everything else demands your pin or password. Thought by MIUI 10 things like this should have been sorted out but oh well I agree. That is actually a bug with the recent 10.0.4.0 update. I noticed that immediately I booted up after updating |

Eeechenmeelee1: You're not getting my point, I never said MIUI wasn't simple. I simply stated what Google did with Pie, they added low key iOS like asethetics to Android 9 n did it better than Xiaomi in my honest opinion. Besides nobody asides OEMs in the Android One program makes "bare bones" Android OS. One thing that MIUI got right is their SMS app, I like how it sorted random messages into a single place. Ok. I trust MIUI 11 to fix that gap though |

Protein0: they're about to.
I'm almost certain that the Nigerian market they formally entered contributed to their wahala.
Doing biz in ds country na die Naa, I believe their loss of grip on the Indian market is the main cause. That's what happens when you stop to be innovative |

saint2ace: Are you saying it's the power bank or an unregulated charger. Cos the swelling is a sign of unregulated overcharging. I'm pretty sure the power bank can regulate charge output.
Just my thoughts sha If battery starts swelling then certainly the PB voltage regulation is bound to be inconsistent. At this point it doesn't matter since phone has been fixed already, just be weary of the PB |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 2kurupt(m): 2:42pm On Nov 28, 2018 |
Eeechenmeelee1: I am surprised no one on this thread noticed the design direction Google took with Android Pie, Google sneaked in some low key iOS type design style and essentially pulled of what MIUI has been trying to do for years. I know because I have AOSP Extended v6 on my redmi 5 plus and I went through the complete circle from miui 9 to 10 to AEX. Anyways it will be interesting to see what Xiaomi will do now as Google is low key trying to make android to look as simple as iOS Are you implying the MIUI interface ain't simple or what? IMHO MIUI has an infusion of simplicity and functionality. Barebones Android is boring, am sure you already know that |

Agbi4: Out of the blue the phone refused to charge. Sorry about that, factory defects are prevalent with any product. Maybe your unit is one of such. Next time be sure of the workmanship level of a repairer before handing your device for repairs. MODIFIED: Just seeing your comment on your power bank with swollen battery, am 90% sure it is the culprit of your phone charging issue |

Agbi4: I haven't had a phone go under the knife in less than one year of usage but it took my Redmi Note 5 pro about 6 months of usage to do so. I can't tell you how sad I feel seeing the dents and scratches the repairer left on the phone. Why exactly was it opened? |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 2kurupt(m): 12:05pm On Nov 28, 2018 |
saint2ace: Infact I do, I have a celbro that does QC 2.0 and 3.0, MTK pump express and adaptive fast charge but does not do OPPO VOOC and USB PD but my floveme charger does all of the above. The celbro ships for about $9 and the floveme for $5.
I also have a croutch charger that only does QC 2.0 and 3.0, while my oukitel follow come priced at $12 only does MTK pump express. My mi dual USB QC brick priced at over $20 can only do QC 2.0 and 3.0
So yes bro I know what u're talking about. Am eyeing that Floveme charger too queenfav: The matter tire me o. Tecno phone that I got for 3800 has a better audio output than the xiaomi right now. Once u buy, and ur phone works ok.. Just remain on that version. No one knows the bugs and issues the next version would introduce to the phone Install a good third-party music player such as jet audio and check your earpiece too |

saint2ace: This is so on point, I think Nigerians should start researching what works for their phones instead of feeling every fast charger will work for them. Most Infinix stock chargers only work with MTK pump express, while some QC chargers seem slow on MTK phones.
Getting a charger that can do all on a budget might not really be practical as u'll be spending a bundle if you want an all encompassing charger.
So the secret to a good charge procedure is to get what works for you under it preferred budget. Don't look for a charger that does everything but look for what works for you.
But if you have the extra cash then have fun and get an all in one charger. Even though I feel it might be obsolete when a new technology surfaces. My 2 Kobo..., There are actually Chargers on Aliexpress that support multiple fast charging technology on the cheap if you know where to look |
