Exactly. As for me it's a mandatory 2 year policy per device, if they like they should release smartphone with 2 weeks battery backup, teleportation, 8k screen resolution etc.

Go to your PC network settings and enable " metered connection". This should reduce data usage by your computer

The only Xiaomi app that I see ads is Theme app. For the ones that pop up while you watch videos, maybe you should try a good 3rd party video player

Hello guys, i lost my phone (xioami redmi note 5) on 12th friday of this month and i was able to get the phone back this last week friday.
It was not easy at all, i was able to recover it through tracking of the phone from my mi account, involving of police and all that. It is a long story sha. What i can just say is that the phone security lock is wow, even after those guys wipe the phone, try to install another rom on the phone, hard flashing and all that the phone was still asking for my mi password. All thanks to God and those that help in the process of searching for the phone ( Thanks Noobody and others too).
Now i am enjoying my phone again.

That must be one determined & hardened crook. All Android phones should have theft-safe security feature like this by default.

Sincerely speaking, I've used my RN5 under the hottest and brightest Sun light without visibility issues... I might be wrong though

I don't understand all these hues and cries over gcam and no gcam. This is the reason why when I'm buying any device, I don't go about asking questions or even flaunting it. People with their mouth can make you hate what you so much desire.

If you want dslr level of phone camera photographs, please go for flagship devices like Nokia that uses Carl Zeiss lens or Samsung or iPhone. Don't come and hide under mid-range devices that some of us love and cherish as it is and be bad mouthing it.

Life with RN5 does not begin and end with gcam. Those calling it 'poo' or whatever I'm not sure can manufacture a case cover talk less of writing the camera app codes but will be quick to condemn other people's hard work and sweat.

If you want a phone with excellent camera by all means go for a flagship device and don't be bother.

Beauty? Yeah right. Gone are the days you can only get the best out of your Android device via root. Current feature packed Android coupled with & present-day hardware capabilities of phones now make rooting totally unnecessary.

It's kinda weird that Xiaomi is appealing to mostly techies on here, the average user wouldn't even be bothered to download an extra camera app that isn't from playstore much less unlocking bootloader and flashing whatever.

Whoever started the whole GCAM craze made the Redmi phone cameras seem useless without it.

In the end people would learn from their own experience. Meanwhile news report showed that Xiaomi phones visit service centers the most a while back. This is the info they should be knowing before tweaking anything.
