Politics › Re: Nigerians Mob Peter Obi At Abuja Airport As He Poses For Selfies by 2tpick: 6:03am On May 21, 2022 |
There is a reason why all Nigerians in diaspora regardless of ethnicity wants peter obi to become the next Nigerian president. Most of these people have escaped the hell called Nigeria and deep down, they wish for a better country to return to some day. Nigerians in diaspora are non-partisan, they are the true progressives, their submissions are objective and not tainted by greed, nepotism, bigotry, or hate. There would be no buhari in the first place if it is in their place to elect the next president. |

Amerengues2: There is no sight of resurrection of the dollar but a continuous shameful steep of the dollar to naira.
We are not an exporting country again. In fact, the problem of Nigeria isn't exportation of Agricultural produce as opined by experts;
Nigeria's superiority in cocoa production has been dwarfed by Ghana and Cote d voire. However,we produce cocoa, export it to foreigners, they process it to chocolates and make X5 of it, then we import it as chocolate. Countries that have no cocoa farms are making a lot from our cocoa.
We are among the top producers of cassava, we pride ourselves in it. Apart from fufu, and garri, what else? However, the Chinese come here, but cassava chips. They produced starch from it; Produced ethanol; produced starch etc.
Heard of an account of an Indian that came to Ogbomosho to buy Cashew worth 450million. They take it back, process it and get oil, they even roast it and get multiple folds from it yet the producers languishes in poverty.
As much as too much importation is doing much harm to us, the archaic exportation of raw products does greater harm without processing. We can keep counting!
Even crude oil is being exported without refined and we import refined one. Spending 1.4tr on subsidy and managing refineries that are not functional.
The problem remains- we import back our goods at premium price.
All the cocoa farmers in West and south have turned Okada riders in Lagos.
In sum, dollar will continue to rise in as much as we are not willing to diversify.
Agriculture isn't the way but processing of those products to get greater gains. Though this dollar scarcity is politically induced.

jerseyboy: SOUTHERN CAMEROON LEFT NIGERIA BECAUSE THEY DID NOT WANT TO BE WITH IBOS Lolzz Juxtapose this with the statement I quoted and apply some critical thinking this time. I even thought u were showing me proof of what u claimed. Even the evidence u brought contrasted with the context u were trying to create. From this evidence, u ended up making the igboes look superhuman. If geopolitical zones were created to denote ethnic groups, does it mean that there are no yorubas in the north central geopolitical zone? Geopolitical zones has nothing to do with ethnicity unless u want to tell me that people in cross river or taraba (closest to the southern cameroonians) are also igboes. |

jerseyboy: There are no Igbos in Rivers or any inch of the SouthSouth. i repeat. There are no Igbos in Rivers or any inch of the SouthSouth. After the creation of states, boundary communities were gradually allowed to chose where they want to be. Between Edo and Ondo, there were a few exchanges from errors made at state creation. If those Imo and Abia so called annexed communities actually want to be in the South East, they would have clamored and be allowed in. However the reality is everyone is happy to escape any union with Igbos. U might even be a graduate. It's quite a pity |

I can authoritatively confirm this as a fake news. There was no military engagement with any gunmen yesterday. Infact the battalion of soldiers that came quickly turned their vehicles and speed off. Went to uratta and were shooting sporadically there while those they were supposedly engaging were conducting their campaigns around the popular ariaria market unchallenged.
This forum has gone to the dogs. Whoever brought this to the front page without verification is among the problems we have in this nation. |

PHIPEX: Will SW now swap between VP and President? I pity some people whose fairness and equity does not exist in their own dictionary. You have an analytical mindset for you to be able to spot that out. The outcome of the meeting was a consolidation of what has been in the public domain for a long time, ie zoning presidency to the south. Now the real.game is at the zonal level which is the battle we have all been waiting for. In the spirit of fairness and equity, northerners might want to play by that rule and your question will be rightly answered. |

derecho: This thread is basically between aribisala0 vs Bkayy I do not support ethnic bigotry But I must confess I have learnt a lot from Bkayy, though he later started dwelling on trivialities.
We've a lot of "achievements" from the past from both sides. However, never delude yourself to think you are better than the other guy because you're of Yoruba or Igbo descent. The child of a slave,Samuel Ajayi Crowther, translated the Bible into Yoruba language and created the template for the translation of the Igbo Bible. I wonder the noise about slavery
It is utter foolishness to just hate/derogate someone simply because he's from another tribe.
I have heard igbos tag Yoruba people dirty but don't we have Igbo people who are dirty? Many Yoruba kids have been brainwashed that igbos wake their parents with "flying tackles" and many they grow up with that warped mentality. Are we saying we don't have rude Yoruba kids?
Many of these stereotypes are incorrect.
I know of people who harbour such nonsense even as Pastors...imagine what these would counsel when A Yoruba girl who wants to marry an Igbo man? Bros that Bkayy guy came prepared. His opponents are no match to him at all. |

27Pushing30: It actually makes sense ... it’s blackmail
The northern big wigs have no political interest in presidency and senate presidency
They will take VP and speaker HOR.
so they will happily mobilize their troops.
If they put forward Amaechi, Wike will push for ticket BUT APC won’t be worried cos wike has issues with Igbo voting base and the north
If APC get 30% of SS votes they can defeat Wike
SW will be compensated with senate presidency
Still they would need to get Tinubu on board ... that is where the problem lies If Amaechi.contests against Wike, its a landslide victory for the APC whether Tinubu comes.on board or not. Jagaban will be better served in APC whether the permutations favours him or not cos withdrawing his ACN from APC is suicidal. We should not forget how the APC merged, Buhari's CPC has been garnering about 12 million votes over time till Tinubu brought over 3 milion votes to tip the scale in 2015. Even the party adopted change mantra as their slogan which mirrors buhari's Congress for Progressive Change. So to me the merger was more of a northern agenda despite Tinubu's best efforts. Personally if we can trust Tinubu to dismantle the North's political dominance by restructuring this country, he is the best man for the job. But alas, the north is weary of that too and they wont wanna take chances seeing that happen. |

eldoradoxx: Unlike PDP that was formed by like minds and political friends, APC is a mere coalition of various opposition parties and aggrieved members of the PDP with various interests to achieve political power. The political personality of Buhari is the glue that holds APC together though weakly. After Buhari leaves power, you won't see APC especially if Tinubu does not get the ticket. Quite an intelligent submission. BAT wants to take advantage of buhari's political personality to keep APC in power. If he doesnt succeed, APC is gone though it will be difficult to achieve success building the type of political structures he had in lagos. The north is always the constant in all political calculations |

The issue at the courts is legal one and procedural litigation must follow accordingly. If the foolish government led by Buhari believed Nnamdi Kanu is a member of IPOB, it must prove to the court with legal documents. The case is in court and beyond infantile imagination. The bone of contention is the word 'PROSCRIBED' which was attached to IPOB. Baba many Nigerians are either mentally lazy or driven by sentiments.
