Austin Eguavon is a welcome development to me. I remember how his team played when he took over the last two 2006 world cup qualifiers matches and his scored a whopping 10 goals, unfortunately we didn't qualify then due to the away goals rules against Angola

Lets see what his team will do at AFCON this time around

Our problem no be line up. These guys they appointed can't do better than Rorh.
Nothing to write home about as regards Eguavoen. HIs assistants even makes matters worse.

Rohr did not do badly with invitations but with coaching. If these guys do differently with invitation the results would even be worse or at least somewhat the same.

But peeps here do complain about line up and invitations all the time.

From Musa to Simeon to collins to shehu , people have always complained about Rohr not always playing our best players.

Then, there is the issue of Rohr always playing some players out of position.

We go soon see Rema, Buju and Flavour 2 for Afcon list with some news on how local league is this or that. Anayo fit go Afcon sef.

What makes you to think Anayo iwuala is not good enough.
Because he does not play in Europe
Football does not allways work like that.
He might even turn out to be one of our best players and get us vital goals and assists.
Football is about opportunities and advertisment.
Some players are good but not well advertised.
He might be better than some European based players.
Westerhoof prefered Amunike when he was in Zamalek to Tijani Babangida.
Also, time changes things. He might move to Europe in a few years and do big things.
I have watched him play and he seems a very creative players.
Football is not straightforward like that.
In fact, that was Rohrs mistake. He thinks club form is everything and it does not allways work.
The issue of club form does not work for Moses Simon and paul Onuachu.
In fact, i think Anthony Nwakaeme can be a better player for Nigeria than Moses Simon and other wingers
in better leagues. Football is not as straight forward as this

consolation speech cheesy as if guardiola was not going for 'ready made' clubs like you call them.
When it comes to football revolution, Pep is up there with the like of Wenger. Pep may be a big spender and may always go for the ready-made clubs but never doubt his tactical prowess.

No one would love to taint a promising career.

Is like telling Foden to join Burnley to prove his mettle.

And by the way, put some respect in Zizzou's name.
Fear . . that's the word.

Gerard just completed an unbeaten season with Rangers but he still accepted the Villa job.

IMO, if you're afraid of tainting your career, you are not good enough.

Paul:Yay

Salisu:Nay

Yobo: Nay

Eguavoen: that settles it then, Henry will start

The appointment of Dr. Terry Eguaoje is fantastic in the Super Eagles coaching crew is fantastic
he has conducted over 700 coaching courses in the last seven years and NFF wants to bring him as consultant coach
Dr Eguaoje has conducted several FIFA, UEFA and CAF sanctioned coaching courses in US, Africa and other part of the world.
He was born in Nigeria and is a seasoned coach with UEFA A licence coaching.
He is the founder of the Football Coaches Association of African Nations (FCAAN.
IT IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS TO HAppen to our football.
He has all that technical knowledge of an European but he is a true Nigerian.
He has been doing several coaching clinics in Nigeria.

It can't be worse than losing to CAR at home, losing to Madagascar, and struggling against Sierra Leone and Cape Verde.

At least these ones are local and know the Nigerian style of play. They won't put shackles on our game like Rohr did. We have brilliance in our wings and attack. Nigeria will be back to attacking teams ruthlessly.

Eguavon will never be the coach....relax

Eguavoen is a sound coach. We are going to be better defensively. Expect immediate changes in that backline. The likes shehu abdullahi are gone. Musa will remain for purely sentimental reasons. A member if the 28. But rarely play.

I will take Finidi/Amuneke as interim coach over Eguavoen, and eventually they could become assistants to a sound coach. Na this situation you prefer? na wa

How about our midfield and attack, and the team gelling?

Modified.
And we may not have Dessers wink

Go back and watch his team at the 2006 nations cup. The team was compact defensively...could hold their own in the midfield..we lacked wingers and strikers (we have an embarassment of both currently). He still came third despite the teams limitations. He will come good.

Dessers should make the cut. He is part of the 40 man team submitted by Rohr....except Aigbogun wants to smuggle in some his sambisa eleven in the squad.

it's a case of too many cooks. I don't know if he would be conducting coaching clinics in the team or giving technical assistance. If he would be doing the latter when has he ever succeeded in that capacity? Just give me one match.
Degrees and qualifications is not enough. Ask Aigbogun.

Coming third in the Nations cup for Nigeria is nothing.
Eguavoen, with the pedigree of his assistants, is suspect.
He should be our defensive coach assistant. if there is any such thing.

You have a point, as long as the coach has his playing philosophy and can identify players that would perfectly suit it. But, there is a BIG but. in World football, you come against different teams with varying strengths. If you don't know how to use your best performing players and cannot be dynamic with approaches and formations you can't go far.

Let’s stop being sentimental or create a Quota system and just select our best available players. On current form, do you really think that, Anayo iwuala is a better winger than Victor Moses, chukwueze, dennis, ademola lookman, onyekuru? If not, why are you saying that it isn’t suprising to see his name on afcon 28 man list
