Galatasaray Plan Summer Move For Ahmed Musa

Turkish club Galatasaray are reportedly lining up a bid for Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa as a potential replacement for Swiss striker Eren Derdiyck who is out of contract at the club this summer.

Musa, who returned to CSKA Moscow on a six-month loan deal from Leicester City, has been in rich vein of form for the Russian side.
According to Turkish website, hurriyet.com.tr, Galatasaray are confident of luring Musa with the prospect of him playing in the UEFA Champions League next season.

Galatasaray were reported to be close to signing the 25-year-old during the January transfer window but were put off by Leicester City’s huge loan fee.

Musa has scored six times in 15 games since joining CSKA Moscow in January. He previously played for Kano Pillars and VVV Venlo.
Galatasaray are on top of the 18-team Turkish Super Lig with 69 points from 32 matches, three points ahead of second-placed Fenerbahce.

That's good news. I know some folks want to write him off after the Serbia friendly but not me. I know that we're a much stronger team if Joel Obi in the midst and available for selection.

Try and understand what Kog45 is saying. If we have a woeful outting that can lead to a total disbanment and over-haul of the whole process. And we begin all over again hoping for another miracle in Qatar.

If this team at least gives a descent performance it will set the stage for continuity of the progress being made and this may lead to better performances in the future.

As for me, I am really pleased with the current progress of the team and would want to see it sustained. Even though I don't belong to those that have set so high a target for the team, I expect a descent outing at least.

Guts and glory - That's what I want to see in the Eagles. If we going to get knocked out at the group stage let us not be leveled over as wimps. Let us fight till the end like Roma.

some of us wrote him off before that friendly. An injury-prone player is not an asset

Krsto Reskusic must be reading my mind because he had just posted the same thing I have been saying ever since the draw came out. Our fate should be decided after the first game. If we screw it up then it's all over. If we can get a result - any result at all, even a goalless draw, then I like our chances. And I said that because Argentina would've qualified before our last game against them; hence, they may decide to rest some players including Messi.

In fact, the only good news that came out of this world cup draw for us is the match schedule.

Krsto Reskusic

Croatia vs. Nigeria will decide the fate of this group. If Croatia can get 3 points in their first match, I am confident they will advance and win the group. Going into the Argentina game with a W, Croatia will out play Argentina. If they lose, they will not advance, with Nigeria and Argentina taking the top 2 spots. If the game ends in a draw this group will be wide open and it will be decided by goal differential for the final spot.

You will invite a player like Sonne Aluko and put him in a "Team B" as you call it. Hen I laugh.

European teams all have standing U21 teams and there is even a European U21 tournament to expose these players. Countries in Europe value this age grade far more than the U19/20 cos they pick from this pool to their senior teams and their U21 teams go ahead to play in the Olympics a year or 2 later.

Now, the question should be how do we acccommdate players who are over 21 but are yet to feature for the Super Eagles. Remember I mentioned it as the U21/23 team. Or the U21 to progress to U23.

It is expected that some exceptional players who are already 21 would have proven themselves already to get a call up to the Super Eagles. However for those who could not break in and are still in their early 20s we have an U23 age grade competition which can accommodate these them and just like from previous Dream teams we select the ones that excel to the Super Eagles. Look at simple examples of Ekong, Shehu, and Etebo from the Rio team. A good number of U23 players though are typically senior team players. Like Ekong and Shehu.

My major targets for that U21-23 are players who are past the age of the 2019 U20 but are eligible for the 2020 U23. In this pool we have numerous talented players whose careers are on the ascendancy both in Europe and the NPFL. I can role out at least 50 names. We groom them together, organize quality friendlies during the FIFA free window and keep progressing those that excel. That is the simple model I am proposing. Rather than just picking 1 or 2 players and say they are special talents.

We need this large pool cos we do not know those who will finally come out good or otherwise so we don't hope on a particular player or few set of players and when they flop we get hit badly.

I fully agree with this. This is the model and method being employed by Germany, and it is working wonders for them despite the the absence of the so-called star names

Yes, injury is definitely a problem but Joel is one player who would give you a 110% when he's fit. He's also big game player!

He reminds me of Emmanuel Amuneke. Unfortunately, such players are very susceptible to injuries because they tend to push themselves way too hard in every game. They don't hold anything back, if you know what I mean.

Correct girl

Left to me, if joel obi is chosen it is a wasted slot because that guy can get injured on the plane to Russia.

I prefer Ogu to Joel even in style of play.
