If the update has positive reviews, then update. Otherwise use your discretion

Don't be quick to update, you can even wait for weeks to get proper knowledge of possible bugs available, then you can decide if you can live with it.
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 7:34am On Dec 04, 2016
For those ordering online, don't forget to order for tampered screen protector and casing.

Okay. Where are 3s users ? Let's know if any update has done any harm to your devices.

You are on developer rom so you get updates weekly (or fortnightly). Even if something goes wrong, like battery issues, you are sure to get update soon. But for those of us with stable rom, we get updates once in two months so we are careful not to install useless updates. But then again be sure to read the comments on the miui forum before deciding. Cheers

From the changelog on the pics you shared, I suggest you Skip the update. It's a mere cosmetic update.

Since I bought (Dec, 2015) my Redmi Note 2 Prime (china stable rom miui 7 android 5), it was just couple of days ago that i received my first OTA update (miui cool ever and i did the update immediately. I must confess, Miui 8 is a worthy update compare to Miui 7. Now, this miui 8 is still on Lollipop, does it mean the forth coming (or already released) miui 9 will be on Nougat/Lollipop for Redmi Note 2 Prime? Lest I forget, I need new cases for this my Redmi. Who can help?

This update might seem pretty cool but I don't want anything that might affect my battery performance

There seems to be a newer version of miui for rn2

I wouldn't worry about android N for now because Xiaomi only cares about releasing new devices without paying attention to their software development. Whichever one they release, we take. One would have thought that by now, most devices should be running on a stable MM rom.

OKAY! I have calmed my nerves with your feedback. I have equally checked the link you provided, thus i will await OTA for subsequent top-up/major updates. I despise manual flashing! In a nutshell, thank you.

Is there no one who can help me with new RN2 Prime cases/pouches?

You now remember when I told you 'it takes only one update to wreck your battery?'

Better disable auto-update
