Rivers State Of Hypocrisy by Proudlyngwa(m): 5:47pm On Jun 29, 2016 |
I logged in this afternoon to Nairaland to see one of the most shocking news of my life. https://www.nairaland.com/3194741/onelga-militants-sign-peace-deal Honestly, I didn't believe this news until I called a colleague living in Omoku, his family had been taking refuge in a church for weeks. He confirmed the sorry news to be true. Meanwhile on the Afromentioned thread, majority where giving kudos to the Rivers state government for initiating this move. This is the height of wickedness. https://www.nairaland.com/2936309/watch-graphic-video-4-killed#42954962 https://www.nairaland.com/2935231/two-beheaded-suspected-cultists-rivers https://www.nairaland.com/2937382/graphic-photo-again-cultists-brutally#42969920 https://www.nairaland.com/2990873/photo-beheaded-franklin-obi-apc-ward-chairman#43786220 / https://www.nairaland.com/2986784/amaechi-visits-frank-obis-family#43723733 If this move was designed for peace to reign, then am sorry to say , this was done in error. We are yet to learn from our mistakes. You don't negotiate with criminals. You punish them. This are not freedom fighters , this are criminals. I worked in the Omoku axis earlier this year and witnessed the criminality perpetuated there first person and giving the perpetuators of this nefarious activities government pardon is a criminal act on its own. What happens to the families of those who were killed. What happened to those who were raped. Business men who lost their life investmens. A lot of people are still in trauma and all we can do is embrace the criminals for peace to reign. Pathetic. Without true reconciliation there can't be true peace. We don't put the cart before the horse in situations like this. The killings in Omoku asix is 30% political and 70% cult oriented, the truth needs to be told first, restitutions done to aggrieved families and framework for reintegration set in place, before granting amnesty. This is a show of shame from the rivers state government, and when the repercussions start, it might be worse than this. I advise the Government invites all affected people with true greviance for reconciliation and compensation, not political thugs and bought over elders. May the good lord give the rivers state government infinite wisdom to do the right thing. I remain yours truly Proudlyngwa God bless Governor Nyesom Wine God bless Rivers State God bless Abia State God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. oga i dont understant what u ar talking *modified* insecurity in ogba egbema axis really a different thing, peter odili is to be blamed partly for that. Old rivers state under an ijaw majority(remember diette spiff) was a no go area for an ndoni(igbo) man to be governor,so after the creation of bayelsa state, peter odili sponsored many armed group to take power from the ijaws. That was the genesis of insecurity in rivers state.... Although new rivers state today is majority igboid and upland, that culture of violence is still there during elections. FYI: peter odili is from onelga(omoku is the hq), diete spiff is now a bayelsan(ex gov of old rivers state),that was the simple reason dakuku peter(considered ijoid/riverine) could not win eze nyesom wike(igboid/uplander) |

joeprince23:What am saying is you can't continue giving militants/ cultist amnesty. You arrest and prosecute them. What do this riffraffs claim to be fighting for. What precedent are we setting for the future |

Op Thank you and God bless you This Nairaland sometimes makes me wonder of I'm on the rite platform. It will neva be well with WikeD, Felix Obuah aka Go Round and all the cultists they created. However sometimes I think it best for Rivers People coz their hatred and tribalism made them choose WikeD a well known tout against Dakuku a man of peace. My colleague (who hated anything APC, Buhari and Amaechi) was gun down on his way back from Omuku the other of our colleague in the car had his jaw scattered by bullet and may neva be able to talk again. You see the reality is that when the time came the bullet didn't ask him for his party affiliations. 6 Likes |

hardywaltz: That's quite bad. My condolences. Like you rightly pointed out, evil knows no party affiliations or ethnicity. Which is why we must all condemn it in unison. What I don't get is how individuals who are most susceptible to these vices cheer it on just so long as it portrays the government at the center in a bad light. That's how some people will come on here to cheer on the avengers only to turn back and complain about power outage. 3 Likes |

Proudlyngwa, you're unfortunately one of the few voices of reasoning from that axis. Majority from Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa and the entire SE region reason very differently from what common sense dictates. I can remember how people here celebrated most of the killings that took place in Rivers and Bayelsa during the last elections there, just because many of the victims were loyal to APC. How low can we get as humans! What you're reasoning and proposing will not fly simply because Wike, one way or the other, has his hands in many of those killings. So, what restitution or compensation can he bring about? But one thing is sure and that is karma. 3 Likes |

ProudlyNgwa, I'm still in awe of the reasoning behind the act!! Saw the pride and arrogance on the faces of the miscreants & just SMH! No remorse, no reprimand, no recrimination. Uhhm. Seems killings are segmented now, tribe on tribe killings are acceptable, only inter ethnic is worthy of condemnation... We'll get it right someday, not in the nearest future or with the present crop of leaders.. 1 Like 2 Shares |

Proudlyngwa: They opened this thread yesterday https://www.nairaland.com/3194352/wike-leads-security-agents-destroy#47022503 And this was my response Abagworo: Today they opened the thread of ONELGA militants and behold Don Wally has been given amnesty. Those in the know of ONELGA politics can confirm that a high ranking member of PDP exco is behind the Iceland faction led by Wally and unconfirmed sources claim the two major cultists are living on Rivers State wealth in a house built exclusively for selected ones. Will Ndigbara get his own amnesty? Will the greenlanders who now feel used and dumped accept being the sacrificial lamb? Let's all pray for Rivers State and ONELGA in particular. |

OP your hypocrisy stinks to high heaven.. Who is in charge of all the security apparatus of the country? Instead of you to attack the security agents for failing in their responsibility which is to maintain law and order and also protect the masses, you are here displaying your crass hypocrisy.. SMH for you. The security agents should simply round them up and let the law take its course.. |
