Arrant nonsense! the court should strike out the case for being frivolous and abuse of court processes. I don't see how naming a dog a particular name should endanger public peace. The prosecution has no case joor. 1 Like |

yemdogg:u can just imagine the nonsense, el rufai a governor now, used all manner of derogatory and insultive words on a sitting president. What did the police do, wasn't that inciteful and capable of breaching public peace. Some people believe that Nigeria is their kingdom and all others are subject to their whims and caprices 1 Like |

AnonyNymous:please, no offense intended. Go back to the facts of that article. The kkk had to distribute at night so that no one was seen in other words, there wasnt any white hater to be seen. I am sure u know wat wud av happened if they were caught sharing that flier. Secondly, a black pastor resident there felt offended by the fliers...now imagine noemal blacks wit no moral obligations ow dey wud av reacted. Thirdly they did report to the police about the incident, only in this case, they had no suspect, so u cant sue the fliers though it falls under free speech. Lastly, a kkk leader acknowledged that they didnt know it was a predominantly black neighbourhood...this coming from organised white supremacy groups....imagine if an individual decides to parade his hate for blacks by himself branding a monkey with the title blacks or even obama in that kind of neighbourhood what would really happen to him if caught. You dont owe me an answer, u owe urself the sincerity of this answer. |

Timoleon:No. That's not what happened. If you see my response to the person I quoted before, I said the only thing stopping them from doing such is because if theirbown safety. Fear that the black people would take matters in their own hands. You can see, in the article, people saying that they clearly felt offended by it. A KKK grandwizard even publicly supported it. I remember the time the thing happened, it was all over Instagram and other social media. The KKK have publicly made attempts to humiliate black people and nothing has been done to them, except the ones that actually become violent. All I see is this man staging a protest. What do you have to say about Westboro Baptist Church who constantly hold up anti-gay/anti-lesbian BURN IN HELL signboards at LGBT+ rallies and parades? They are all protected under freedom of expression. They reported to the police, but authorities told the media they were protected under freedom of speech. 1 Like |

QuotaSystem:"actions which harm another person or harm his property in his presence, or actions which are likely to provoke such harm". Such harm like his property or the person. Now how is the naming of his dog likely to harm the man or his property. Yes the man misbehaved by writing the name on the dog. But the way the police responded and polarised the case, makes it look like the police are even afraid of some set of people. 1 Like |

rose54321: Freedom of speech, freedom of opinion etc without limit/control amountss to nothing but recklessness and anarchy. The limit of your freedom is where it impact negatively on my right. Yes Joachim may be free to call his dog what he wants, but inscribing the name (which in this case is also the name of a living elder in the community) on the dog and parading same in a community where the person bearring the name is highly respected is provocative. Only God knows the real intention of Joachim for making that inglorious move....maybe he was hoping to precipitate ethno-religious mayhem! But, as the popular song goes: "God win" 3 Likes 1 Share |

rose54321:he didn't just choose a name for his dog. The dog was a grown up dog. That means it already had a name all along. People do not write the names of their dog on its body. He wrote buhari... Deliberately to cause trouble. The judge and police are not stupid. They know he intended to breach peace. They. Know their job. He was trying to make a statement. He was. Actually fermenting trouble in an already unstable relationship between hausas and igbos. He should be in jail. Let Nigerians learn to keep themselves busy with productive things and not useless things that dont add value or take away poverty. Let him remain in jail and learn his lessons. 1 Like |
