Its amazing that Nigeria now has 5 ladies playing in the NWSL - Oshoala, Kanu, Onumonu, Alozie and Payne. Great!

On Payne, the highlights showed that she is still work in progress and hopefully, would only get better. She is still very young and has some upward mobility in terms of talent. Wishing her the best.
Hopefully, Kanu can build on her start and become a regular. She need that to stay relevant.

You had mentioned in another thread that Demehin will likely be out of the SA matches. That will be a big blow to us. Nonetheless, hopefully Randy can start looking actively at the lady at Nantes - Maureen Umeugochukwu. I'm sorry, but Akudo Ogbona has failed to impress. Far too many unforced errors at this level. For the SA game, Ucheibe may be asked to play the role she did when Demehin left the game against Cameroon. At least, that seems to be the role she plays at Benfica, so she has recency of experience in that position.

The less said about the Chawinga fellow, the better.

Maybe Surprisingly as you have said…!
With what i saw her play last night, she’s really working hard. Her playing style have always been similar to that of Lucy Bronze. The NWSL definitely fits her style of play a lot considering how quick she’s. Recovery was top notch as she wasn’t beaten on any 1-v-1 and won all her foot race for the ball but still needs to get better going forward and delivering balls into the box.. Work in Progress! Hopefully she gets to start the next game.

But this Tenwa Chawinga is another ridiculously quick and physical forward, she came into the game for Kansas City and was involved(assisted) in their last two games. Her physique tells that she isn’t a Woman though!

JOE scores again.

Can't understand why the coach starts her from the bench quite frankly

Didn't watch the game so can't speak on Payne, was just excited to see she started. I really do hope that her starting becomes regular, we need it and she also needs it to develop.

Like AkinDS noted, hope Kanu builds confidence from the last game and have a better season than last year.

Oshoala's goal wins it for Bay FC.
She played a good game against a really good Angel City FC team.
Great start for her.

Bay FC really digged in and were extremely lucky. Haven't seen so much luck for a football team in a while. Angel City had too many goalscoring chances and at least 2 goals cleared off the line.

The Bay FC goalkeeper also did a great job. But for Oshoala's goal she or Dydasco would have been player of the match. I understand that this is a new and growing team, but they however have a lot of work to do. Too many loopholes for a good team to take advantage of.

My own is if she doesn't get on the score sheet vs SA in this 2 legged affair, then it's time to make her start from the bench going forward. I dunno but the high standards is why.

At this stage there’s no way they won’t be having many loopholes, it’s a new team and most of the top of players like Oshoala, Kundananji, Camberos, and the goalkeeper haven’t trained together that much because of various reasons..

With time they will definitely get better, for a new team to be this Compact defensively tells a lot that the potential to be a great team is there..!

They lost to Ghana on penalty shootout.

They were merely eliminated on penalties by Ghana, so statistically, that game counts as a draw.

Wednesday’s Olympic football tournament draw begins at 8pm

Whenever possible, no group may have more than one team from the same confederation drawn into it.

as for the senior national women's team, Nigerian women are the bosses but when it comes to the younger female teams it's mostly even besides we have home support in cape coast, we will beat u.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 3:33pm On Mar 19
In terms of average Fans attendance across league games the NWSL is arguably no.1 in the World as far as the Women’s game is concerned.. The WSL🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and LigaF 🇪🇸 follows..

Asisat Oshoala the face of Bay Fc will definitely turn 🆙 as the Coaches and Players so much have trust in her, NWSL defenders have a lot to do defending against the likes of Asisat Oshoala, Racheal Kundananji, Barbara Banda, Tenwa Chawinga and co as these players are very quick and Physical. Which ever way you’re defending against them you must be very strong and quick..

Bay FC…

Once Racheal Kundananji is fit to play, I think the Mexican winger Camberos will have to sit on the bench as the forward line of Kundananji, Oshoala and Boade will likely be the best, Camberos didn’t do much in the first game maybe because of first league game sake, Boade and Oshoala understanding of each is working well… Deyna also need to up her game too

Again somehow behaves like USWNT midfielder Rose Lavelle

OUTSIDE FOOTBALL

I bring to you the ALL AFRICAN GAMES: Nigeria 400M Athlete Brittany Aderinola Ogunmokun

A US-based Nigerian athlete who served five-year in the US Military, is proudly representing Nigeria on the track. Yesterday, she secured her spot in the semifinals of the Women's 400m event at the 13th African Games unfolding in Ghana.

If she was a Footballer the GK and CB position would have fit her though…

Nah it’s not even. The falconets are two time world finalists and won the first edition of this U20 All African Games few years ago.

🚨Coach Bruce Mwape has named a 34-member Copper Queens squad for next month’s Olympics qualifiers against Morocco.

Making a return to the national fold is Grace Chanda, a familiar name in Zambia, who has been out for nine months as a result of illness. The matches are billed for April 5th in Zambia and April 9th in Morocco, with the ultimate victors qualifying for the Olympic Games in Paris.

Lol. That World Cup final is still considered to have been draw and neither team would be in the record to have lost the game, statistically speaking
