Leicester City confirms the departure of Jonathan Morgan from his role as LCFC Women First Team Manager.
The Football Club would like to place on record its thanks to Jonathan for everything he has helped the Club to achieve during his time as manager, which included promotion to the FA Women’s Super League as FA Women’s Championship winners.

Assistant Manager Michael Makoni and First Team Coach Holly Morgan also depart with the Club’s best wishes for their future careers.

Holly, who transitioned to a coaching role at the end of last season, came through the Academy ranks to eventually captain the side before her retirement from playing.

All three have played an important role in the development of LCFC Women, particularly since the Club turned professional following its acquisition by King Power in August 2020.

Retention of its FA Women’s Super League status is central to the Club’s vision for the long-term development of women’s football in the city. The Club feels a change in leadership is now necessary to give the team the best possible chance of achieving this in the remaining months of the season.

Jonathan Morgan said: “This Club has been part of mine and my family’s life for 12 years from when my sister Holly Morgan joined as a young player. To have taken Leicester from the Midlands Division 1 to a FAWSL club gives me nothing but pride. Earning promotion last season in the manner we did will always be a memory I can share with the fans and the city.

“This season has been disappointing, with injuries contributing to a difficult start, but we haven’t achieved the results we had hoped for.

“I wish the Club, the staff and the players my very best.”

Head of Women’s Football Development Emile Heskey will oversee First Team training in preparation for the team’s fixture against Manchester United in the Continental Cup on Sunday 5 December, while the Club undertakes the process of appointing a new manager.

There will be no further comment on the matter until that process is complete.

23yrs old Left Footed Center Back Ashleigh Plumptre.
5 ft 11 in (1.80 m)

Do you know that Ashleigh Plumptre played multiple positions for her College side USC Trojans in the US..

**** Started all 23 games for the Trojans as a centerback during her senior campaign, helping to lead the team to an NCAA Quarterfinals appearance … named to the All-Pacific Region first team and All-Pac-12 second team … scored one goal and posted two assists to lead all USC defenders with four points

**** As a junior she Played 20 games, making 19 starts, for a total of 1,640 minutes played … Scored two goals and had one assist for a total of five points while mainly playing as an outside back

**** As a SOPHOMORE, She appeared in 17 games as a midfielder for the Trojans in 2017, finishing with five points on two goals and one assist … Scored goals against Washington State on 10/22 and Cal on 10/26, both of them game-winners

As it stands Coach Randy Waldrum is currently grooming Ashleigh as the possible replacement for ageing and the verge of retirement Onome Ebi...

Can she cope with the physicality that comes with the African Style of play??

What's your say??

Aside Player's techniques, the WSL is one of the most Competitive though still a predictable league... They use more of power, Pace and Strength, rather than techniques..

I believe She would definitely adapt as soon as possible..

i will like to see her play a game or two first. She has the height and size imo. However, we do not know if she can handle a lot of contact....as per when it comes to African football, una must jam body well well.

Na that gbe Bodie be the main Koko now if not she has got all the attributes but that African power is what matters next.. With her regular training with the team it will also improve her physical side of the game alot.

.... remember that Alozie did well at the US summer series, but struggled during the Aisha Buhari Tourney, African football is different bro...Be technical all you want, There must be a few mad people that are physical on the other team, not all the players on the team will be,but some will be,Imagine playing a cameroun, Ghana..e.t.c and you are not ready to jam body...Also note that, alot of jam body happens on the field that the camera does not capture.

She did the same in both tournaments. There are people who claim she was potm against Mali. Her problem in both tournaments was that she is not a real defender so u can trick your way past her. It was never about physicality.

....Naaa, she was not the player of the match against Mali, infact she struggled against that Malian babe that kept tormenting her, cant remember her name now, she eventually got a yellow card and got sub of at half time. I totally understand that she is not a real defender.

Exactly. Alozie is a natural winger who leverages on a pace to get past defenders. Wondering why the coach has decided to classify her as a defender.

Nah wah for Naija people!
What the heck is she doing in Mexico?
That league is WACK!! They show it here in the US and there really is nothing to write home about.
Not sure why she had to leave Europe?
