2nd half underway. I doubt Norway will up the tempo. I think this Norway team is very good o. We need maximum strength and luck to beat them.

Now 5-1, as soon as I saw the Norwagean high press, I knew they will chop goals. I am actually now very happy to play them with Oshoala, Ordega and Oparanozie up front. Let them try high press with us.

As I was typing, it became 6-1

6-2. Another goal from SA counter attack. Oshoala will be rubbing her palms with these Norwagean wing backs. Lacking pace and cant tackle.
Katlana uses pace, gets inside box, squares ball, goal.

Even against Canada, 2 set pieces in 2nd half, 2 goals. It is a big problem.

I think we will need kanu's pace and finishing more than desire's physicality. Asisat will play in the middle and can also drops deep. Ordega and Kanu will play the WF.

Ogonna Chukwudi
Jersey no.23
Date of Birth: 14-09-1988 (30yrs)
Club: Djurgärdens IF, SWEDEN
Height: 161
Position: Left Winger
FIFA Women’s World Cup: (2007, 2011)

Ogonna showed flashes of the stuff that she is made off during Falcons last group game against U.S.A in China in 2007. The 30-year old is a good winger who has an eye for goals. She has UEFA Champions League experience with KIF Orebro. She has the speed to make incursions into the opponent’s halve and can score goals too, with excellent pull out from the wing. She is an effective left winger, would be useful to Coach Thomas Dennerby if he adopt the wing play.

Strengths — Experience, Excellent pullouts, Fast and technical left winger, Useful for offensive game

Weakness —A one legged player

Chinaza Uchendu:
Jersey no.11
Date of birth: 03-12- 1997 (21yrs)
Position: Attacker
Height: 170 cm
Club: SC Braga, Portugal.
FIFA Women World Cup Appearances: ( Debut)

The SC Braga of Portugal player is a delight to watch on a good day from the attacking midfield and the Left/right flank where she operates from. Her blistering pace and intelligent crosses are a threat to the oppossing team. Her left foot is a blessing as her deft touches makes fans asking for more. Chinaza was part of the U20 world cup team in 2016, and a member of the AWCON winning Falcons team of 2018.
Stakeholders have described Uchendu as a dream attacker. Can this former Rivers Angels player prove her worth among the more established attackers

Strengths — Good speed, Wonderful ball control, intelligent crosses, deadly in front of goal and full of energy

Weakness/es —Sometimes indecisive in attack

Anam Imo
Jersey no.7
Date of Birth: 30-11-2000 (18yrs)
Position: Striker
Height: 170
Club: FC Rosengard, Sweden
FIFA Women World Cup Appearances: ( Debut )

She is the current Nigeria women’s young player of the year. Imo is tall and can play as a support to a lead striker. Her impressive displays for Nasarawa Amazons earned her a contract with top Swedish Club.
Ordinarily her rating should have risen after the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in France. Unfortunately the former Nasarawa Amazons forward whose goal won the game against Slovakia for Nigeria is still struggling to make an impression. Obviously she would be looking forward to a good outing in France so as to silence her critics who feel that her recent foreign sojourn has not transformed her game let alone given her the opportunity to shine on the big stage. Not even her goals has been able to convince them

Strengths — Fast, Blessed with good shots and wonderful ball control.

Weakness/es —Loss of confidence, She has inexperience working against her.

Fransisca Ordega
Jersey no.17
Date of birth: 19-10-1993 (25yrs)
Club: Shanghai Shenhua FC, CHINA.
Height: 160
Position: Attacker
FIFA World Cup Appearances: (2011, 2015)

Women footballers may not be blessed with good looks unlike tennis players or athletes. Maybe the physical nature of the sport could be the reason. So when a female footballer begins to enjoy so much admiration from the men folk for her looks, then it must be worth the look. This is the story of former Washington Spirit Striker Fransisca Ordega. The ex-Falconets player has been adjudged the prettiest Falcons player under chief Coach, Thomas Dennerby. What this implies is that the men will be encouraged to watch all the matches of the team because of a single player. Good omen for the girls.
Another plus for the player is that she has been rated as one of the Sexiest and most funny Superfalcon player.
The beautiful Francisca Ordega is wing mistress, and assist specialist and pacy winger. Franny, as she is fondly called, played for the Flamingoes at the U17 FIFA women’s world in 2010. Ordega was invited by Coach Uche Eucharia to the 2010 AWCON where she scored her first goal for the Falcons. Ordega is a pacy forward and can run down any defence down the flanks. She was awarded the most valuable player of the 2018 AWCON final after an impressive display. She was nominated for the African woman footballer of the year award in 2018. She was the first Africa woman to play football in Australia when she moved to Sydney FC on loan from Washington Spirits in America. She was also at loan at Atletico Madrid, has played in Russia, Sweden and is currently in China playing for Shanghai Shenshua FC.

Strengths —Good speed, deadly in front of goal and full of energy, Strong, Exprience, agile, good in one on one situation, packed with shots in both legs.

Weakness — Her delivery are sometimes poor.

Chinwendu Veronica Ihezuo
Jersey no.19
Date of birth: 30.04.1997 (22yrs)
Height: 172 cm
Club: Henan Huishang FC, CHINA
Position: Forward
FIFA World Cup Appearances: ( Debut )

A talented and agile left-footed player, Ihezuo is known for having an excellent first touch, good dribbling skills, and outstanding technical ability, which, along with her intelligent attacking movements, allow her to retain possession in tight spaces, and to create space for herself and teammates to open up a defence. Essentially a traditional number 9, her composure on the ball, as well as her vision, passing accuracy, ability to read the game, pick a pass, and control the tempo of her team's play have seen her become one of the best young players in Nigeria Women Football. Ihezuo has also been known to use her physicality to get around defenders.
Ihezuo can also be deployed as a winger, but Sometimes on the right flank, a position which enables her to cut into the centre and strike on goal with her stronger left foot.
Ihezuo's career in China began brightly with six goals coming in just six matches of her side's 2019 CFA Tournament campaign as Henan Huishang finished 9th overall. She was then selected by coach Thomas Dennerby as a member of Nigeria 's squad for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup .

Strengths —Have got some experience, Excellent first touch, physical player, outstanding technical ability, a prolific striker.

Weaknesses — Her right foot is weak, When the ball is on her right, it is like she isn’t dreaming anymore, and how can you weave magic without reveries?

The team's itinerary is that they arrive France today and head straight to Reims where they will lodge till they play Norway on Saturday.
I hope NFF gets the logistics right and the ladies have time to rest and get used to French weather. The weather should be OK and above 20 for most of the month, so no problem.

My opening match preview:
France vs South Korea: Cagey match and if France 98 is anything to go by, then I think this might end in a draw. France also has injury to about FIVE key players, who are expected to be fit in time to play Norway. I will go for a draw or a low scoring win.

Nigeria vs Norway: This match will be very open, and Nigeria will be the team on the backfoot for most of the match due to Dennerby's fears. This game will probably see at least 3 goals before half time. Almost certain that Nigeria will concede a set piece goal. My heart says 3-2 Nigeria win, my head says 3-1 Norway win. Norway will ONLY win if Dennerby continues to put organisation above attacking play. We need the balance and I hope he realises it. This is where foreign coaches become a problem, because they dont believe in us as much as we believe in ourselves. They are realistic with expectations, while we are always expecting to win. Our last WWC win was in 2011 against Canada.

Jersey no.22
Date of birth: 30.03.1995 (24yrs)
Height: 163cm
Position: Forward
Club: Rivers Angels, Nigeria.
FIFA World Cup Appearances: (Debut)

Alice is a winger that can play on either wings because of her ability to use both feet and using her technical ability and agility to beat defenders on one-on-one situations. Alice can also operate as a left attacking midfielder or right attacking midfielder in a 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 formation. Her clinical finishing and an eye for goal means she can operate as a striker.
Often compared to Stella Mbachu by fans for her show-boating and trickery, sudden change of pace and feints . Alice earned high praise from Zfk Crvena zvezda otherwise called the Red Stars, a Serbian women's football club in Serbia, for her game-changing qualities during her stint in Serbia.

Her dribbling ability and performance of tricks allows her to cut through from the right or left in order to score or create goalscoring opportunities for teammates. The Queen of Idoma football uses her speed for beating opponents and has excellent crossing ability. Uchenna Grace Kanu
Jersey no.12
Date of birth: 20.06.1997 (21yrs)
Height: 176 cm
Weight: 66 kg
Position: Striker
Club: Southeastern University, USA.
FIFA World Cup Appearances: ( Debut )

A versatile attacker, Kanu is capable of playing on either wing as well as through the centre of the pitch, and while ostensibly left-footed, she's very strong with both feet. She is ranks among the world's young fastest female footballers, both with and without the ball.
The Abia, Nigeria native set a new NAIA single-season record in goals scored with 57 goals netted this past season, which helped Kanu to earn the distinction of being the 2018 United Soccer Coaches NAIA Player of the Year. During her three years at Southeastern, women's soccer player Uchenna Kanu has scored 115 goals and has recorded 32 assists. She has been The Sun Conference Player of the Year each of the last two seasons, First Team All-Conference the past three seasons, and was a First Team NAIA All-American this past season. She has developed a muscular body type that allows her to retain possession of the ball, and strong legs that make up for an outstanding jumping ability. Her strength and jumping ability, combined with her elevation, heading accuracy, and height of 1.76m, gives her an edge in winning aerial challenges for balls. These attributes allow her to function as a target-woman, and make her an aerial goal threat in the penalty area; consequently, many of her goals have been headers. Allied with her increased stamina and work-rate, her goalscoring ability improved drastically on the left wing where she has been given the positional by SEU Coach freedom to move into the centre to finish attacks. She has increasingly played a creative role for her team, often dropping deep to pick up the ball, participate in the build-up of plays, and create chances for her teammates, courtesy of her good vision and passing ability.
She also played for Pensacola FC in the WPSL in 2018. She has been the best U21 Women Footballer in Africa for over 3 years now. She is a Complete Striker.
She is been referred to as the Female Ronaldo by her Nigeria Followers after winning the golden boot at the 2019 WAFU Cup edition scoring 10goals in 5games.

Strength- Good Height, Strong player, Good header, Uses both feet effectively, Deadly in front of goal, Freekick Specialist, Fast Player, Skillful and a Good Passer, Selfless player (Team player), Accurate Shooting.

Weaknesses —Could be selfish with the ball.

Super falcons pre-world cup preparation since January 2019. Played 14, won 10, lost 4.
Biggest lost margin 3-0, to China in Dennerby's first game against strong opposition. I watched that match and the scoreline flatters China. We played well, without key players like Oshoala .
2nd 3-0 margin was from 1st match of Cyprus cup. We got a red card early in the game and the team basically fell. Still the girls created plenty of chances upfront, with Oshoala missing much.
Next losses after that period was 1-0 to Belgium. Tight game. Then 2-1 to Canada. Another tight game we lost concentration in 2nd half.

Others were wins against smaller sides..We beat Thailand, Slovakia and Romania. I think the team has moved forward a lot from the 3-0 loss to China.
