You should know this is a very public forum, there are monitoring spirits looking for how to scheme, steal and destroy. Dropping personal info, especially phone number (I have seen emails but phone number? This is epic! )/on this thread is exposing yourself to unsavoury elements. Do you know how many people have been duped on NL? Not to talk of this thread where it is very evident you have money to go and spend in US.

I hope I have been able to sound nice enough.

Lol. Better. Thanks dear

Good morning good people, please has anyone flown on Air maroc and how is there services as regards long layovers and all. DW is leaning towards them due to the shorter time of travel to JFK(spending less time up in the air). I would have preferred Turkish as there fares are almost the same as the air maroc but she doesnt want to sit in for too long as she is going to be alone on this leg.

Any help please?

My nairalanders how are we doing? This one Trump is signing different things into law. What has he said concerning citizenship for babies. A friend called me from Canada saying no more instant citizenship for children of non immigrate born in the US. Pls people that has info on this issue torch light the matter for us oh.

Instant citizenship for a child born in the US is enshrined in a constitutional amendment... it cannot be revoked by executive order. Only congress can rescind it and it will be very difficult to do (although in the trump climate - who knows).

Isn't that insurance fraud? Whether in america or nigeria, if you are not registered for an insurance policy and try to get the covers assocuated with that policy, i believe it is considered to be some type of fraud. So please think this offer well. It may affect your future POE and Visa renewal. I don't believe a few thousand dollors is worth it.

Thank you so much for the info

With the immigration issues going on in America right now, commuting insurance fraud is the last thing that should be on my mind. You told them self pay at the POE and I believe you had money to pay for your childbirth b fore you left Nigeria. Don't let a few thousand dollars bar you from future entrance into this country. Not worth the stress.

Thank you for this information God bless you

You are the one with the problem. There is an EO that basically cancelled interview waivers (i.e. dropbox). It was signed friday... you can find a copy on the web... its common knowledge. The state department/consulate will determine how the EO is carried out. i simply dropped a piece of info that others have shared here... infact, the very post above your unserious comment posted a link to that very fact... how did you miss it in your blind zeal to be seen to be saying something?

Secondly, you should read the VOs response to an identical case on the non-immigrant visa thread. Basically if you obtained a visa for vacation, then you should use it FIRST for that purpose, come back and you can then go back for birthing later. This is again knowledge you can find for yourself if you do your home work.

The problem isn't my personality, its with people who have a serious problem with facts they don't wish to hear. Good luck.

..maybe you should get updated before shouting people down.

In an executive order signed today (Jan. 27), US president Donald Trump instructed the State Department to immediately suspend the US’s Visa Interview Waiver Program. It’s an interesting action by a president who has made trade a central tenet of his policy platform, since it could, in the short term, inconvenience many frequent visitors to the US (and even dissuade them from visiting) by forcing them to have a face-to-face interview with a US consular officer every time their visa expires rather than simply dropping off their passport at a consulate

You obviously submitted your passport earlier than the 27th. If you read the link justwise posted, the EO banning interview waiver was done on the evening of the 27th (US EST). Considering that Nigeria is approximately 6 hours ahead of the US EST, you recieved your renewal BEFORE the EO was signed.

This is the problem with many here, they don't read and think before they speak.

The VWP is for the 7 countries banned= Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, or Yemen

At this point, you're simply arguing to save face...

First off, the VWP stands for "visa waiver program"... which applies to approximately 48 countries whose citizens can travel to the US for 90 days visa free... all 7 countries you listed are not included.

What the EO bans is the visa INTERVIEW waiver program... read below...

Sec. 8. Visa Interview Security. (a) The Secretary of State shall immediately suspend the Visa Interview Waiver Program and ensure compliance with section 222 of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1222, which requires that all individuals seeking a nonimmigrant visa undergo an in-person interview, subject to specific statutory exceptions.

"All" individuals is noted in the official copy of the EO. There is no indication that this is restricted to just 7 countries.

Please see link from Fragomen, a major immigration law firm in the US - https://www.fragomen.com/knowledge-center/immigration-alerts/president-trump-suspends-entry-foreign-nationals-seven-countries

In addition to the entry ban, the executive order reportedly suspends a visa interview waiver program that was in place at U.S. consulates worldwide. The waiver exempted some visa renewal applicants from an in-person consular interview. The suspension of the interview waiver applies to all U.S. visa applicants regardless of country of nationality or citizenship, and means that wait times for visa interviews are likely to increase significantly. Only in rare cases, such as visas for foreign diplomats, may the State Department exempt an applicant from the personal interview requirement.

This is VO's reply to somebody that asked similar question

abujaniv:
Hello. The idea that you can e-mail the Embassy/Consulate with a "change of intent" letter and have no issues at the border is a myth. The letters are not required, read or catalogued with an applicant's file. What matters is the information you provide in your application and what you say in person at the Embassy/Consulate or to CBP at the border. The application is considered a sworn document: you are swearing that all the information in it is true. If the duration, purpose and destination of travel indicated in the application deviate from reality, it draws greater scrutiny.

Twoods thanks for the exposition.

We need more factual analysis and detailed breakdown on here.

Change of intent is dead. Let's all move on and generally do the right thing. What will it cost you to go for the vacation you said you would go for and save yourself all this English? Max, the price of a ticket, 4 days off work and small spending money.

We analysed this thing to death in earlier sections of the thread. I'm tired of saying the same thing over and over again.

Hello, DW and I were in a similar situation just very recently , same HNWMC. The issue with the discrepancy in paed bill is because the paeds are a separate entity and are not "affiliated" with the hospital and as such their services are charged by them and not the hospital. HNWMC should stop misleading patients with their quote for paed. What I suggest is that u call the number written on the bill and speak to several customer care reps until you get one who would give u the lowest bill. Don't rely on the first person u speak to. That was what I did. I spoke to 4 reps at different times who gave us 4 different bills, as such we opted for the lowest bill which ended up being $900 from over $3000 which we were initially charged. Don't bother calling Shelly (financial counsellor ) , she can't help you out In this case.
Hope this helps.
I just got their bill this morning and same bill of 3800 was given. I will follow your advise. Thanks and God bless

I'm a very frequent traveller and a very cheapskate. As thrifty as I am I don't know if I'd ever ever ever fly air maroc again. I bought a one way ticket from London to Lagos and it was the worst journey I have ever embarked on.

To drop luggage at Heathrow was wahala... they were not organised at all. The plane from London was like the ones Aero use for local flight... I cannot even remember if we were given anything to eat and there was no in-flight entertainment.

When we got to Casablanca walahi it was like we were rushing for molue...very disorganized and all.

I don't know if you want to subject your wife and baby to the stress of air maroc. Quite frankly, you get what you pay for. It didn't pain me too much sha because it was a very very cheap ticket considering I was buying one way.

Repealing visas based on a change in policy is highly unlikely.

More likely to affect new issuances going forward.

Look at d law. Nigeria issues jus one year visa To americans. By the principle of reciprocity, they can do it. Remember the EO just came into effect...

Apparently Nigeria issues max of one year visa to NonNigerians, typically.

Now the question arises that why have they been issuing 2 years visa to our babies on this thread.

Perhaps because both parents are Nigerian?

Let's see how it all plays out.
