The universe might be eternal. You are not listening to what scientists are saying. There is NO scientific consensus on that. I am not denying science. Your are not listening to what scientitist are saying. While some are saying that the observable part of the universe had a beginning others are saying that we know very little about it to make that conclusion. They insist that a greater part of it is unobservable to us as such we can not know if it is finite or infinite. There is NO scientific consensus on that.

For now we do not know if the universe is infinite or not. We can just observe a tiny part of it. Too small to make a conclusion.

Who and who ? Only atheist scientists are struggling to prove the universe is eternal . At least Hawking admits that the universe never existed forever .

What about the radiation echo ? What about the afterglow of the Big Bang ? All these suggest it has a beginning .

Expansion has nothing to do with the universe being finite. It is just expanding endlessly into space. A space that we haven't determined if it has limits or not. It can keep expanding endlessly no one knows. It can burn up all its enwegy and be converted into something else. The universe it self can change and transform into something else. Doesn't mean it's finite. No one know of the universe is finite or not, there are postulations on all sides. The reality remains different because no one knows. We don't know what the universe is, we don't know if it is part of something else or the universe is all there is. We just don't know and so far it seems it is just impossible to know.

The universe is has been observed to be expanding from a single point . Galaxies are also not moving through space, they are moving in space, because space is also moving. They are moving steadily apart from each other - this means that they were closer together in the past. And if space is also expanding that means it keeps expanding its boundaries . What they claim is that it may expand to eternity .

Part of the universe has been observed to be expanding. We don't know what the universe is so how can you conude that the tiny part we can observe is everything? The observable universe is expanding. We don't know if the whole stuff is expanding because we can only observe a tiny part of it.
