No I will not engage him in a converstion.
It will be pointless.
go to www.answeringislam.com and www.answering-islam.org and read what ticked him off.
He has not disproved Christianity in any way because he cannot.
The Holy Bible, the best seller of all times is forever sure.

Pointing at old testament wars or verses in the songs of solomon will not faze even a baby Christian,we already know about them.
Even Allah asked you to believe in them so what is his problems with them?

Dear bayosisi,
Thanks for the post/article, I hope they'll read it. As per all the so called medical 'feats' Olabowale was talking about, it's ridiculous for him to be talking as if it only came through the Quran. Can you kindly educate him about the medical feats of the ancient Egyptians and people of the far east (predating Islam+Quran+Mo'hammed) which are still being used or referred to till this day in modern medicine!!

I know that every civilization had its way of medical practice way back but the far east ,you're right had a more organized practiced before the west.
We all know that medicine is not an exact science.
If you read all your consent forms prior to surgery you'll see these words.
I have with my own eyes seen miracles upon miracles unexplainable by medical science.

Women given a 0% chance of conception bear children.
Metastatic cancers disappear without a trace, with further tests proving negative.
Patients given no chance at recovery bounce back to everyones amazement and make full recovery confounding medical science.
There was a particular case of a women who had breast cancer, after she was healed by the power in Jesus name, not only were her results negative, the scar of the biopsy had completely disappeared.

Of course not ever sick person gets healed but I have seen the power of God in my few short years of life.
Or should I talk of financial miracles and open doors.
The Lord says he will set us to sit with kings,it is so true if you trust and obey him and I'm a living example.
Maybe I should start a thread about real modern day personal miracles to share what the power of God can do.

Olabowole,I am tired of arguing.
I cannot promise you that if you accept Christ today everything will be alright but I guarantee you that He will give you peace beyond measure and would guide you to all things just as he promised.

It's not your fault you were born Muslim, but the gospel of Christ says by Grace are you saved through faith(In Christ),not of works,it is a free gift of God.
Rituals cannot change peoples heart.
Only Christ can wipe away sins and give you a new heart.

Meeting you on this forum is the best thing that happened to you since cheese cake.
You are always in my prayers and I know that God will touch your heart someday.
You have a sincere spirit and if you ask God what you must do,I know He will show you that excellent way.

@ Havila; We are not talking about cocktails of tree barks and roots and trees. We are talking of physiological properies and finds. For example, the precise description of gestations, lactations and digestion. I am just naming a few. We are not talking of trial and error, which is what you find in Medicine, sometimes. That is why Medicine is not an exact science.

I am asking the person who can shed light on these things, at least the part that relates to medicine.

@Babyosisi: You pray and I will pray for you. God will accept the prayer of the truth full, if it is His Will. The main thing is that we invite each other/one another as humans to Paradise and warn against Hell fire.

A sample of Gods healthy plan for man.
The Bible always knew this.
Modern science just started saying it.

A Summary Of Bible Principles For Good Health
1. Eat at regular intervals and avoid eating between meals. "Eat in due season". Ecclesiastes 10:17

2. Eat to live and don't live to eat. "Put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite". Proverbs 23:2

3. Rest according to God's plan. "Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work; but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God; in it thou shalt not do any work". Exodus 20:9,10
"Come ye yourselves apart,  and rest awhile". Mark 6:31"It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep". Psalms 127:2

4. Keep your body clean. "Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh". 2.Corinthians 7:1 "Be ye clean". Isaiah 52:11

5. Control yourself "Every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things". 1.Corinthians 9:25  "Let your moderation be known unto all men". Philippians 4:5

6. Put on a happy face. "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine". Proverbs 17:22

7. Do not use animal fat or animal blood in any form. "It shall be a perpetual statue for your generations throughout all your dwellings that ye eat neither fat nor blood". Leviticus 3:17

8. Help those who are in need. "Loose the bands of wickedness,  undo the heavy burden,  deal thy bread to the hungry,  bring the poor that are cast out to thy house,  When thou seest the naked cover him,  Then,  thine health shall spring forth speedily". Isaiah 58:6-8

9. Trust and obey God. "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings, For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh". Proverbs 4:20,22

10. Give God the glory in everything that you do. "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God". 1.Corinthians 10:31

Dear Uncle Olabowale,
In your attempt to prove whatever you are trying to prove about the Quran, you are making statement you should not make. What do you mean about medicine being trial and error; are you saying decription of gestation, lactation and digestion is from the quran; who told you that? Are you also implying that the art of medicine of the far east is cocktails of tree barks and roots? Really, you are funny.
With all due respect and with all humility and glory to God, I am more than qualified to know about this than you; (you are an engineer I deduce from one of your posts) I am medical doctor with extensive research experience and postgraduate training and qualifications in Public Health with a bias for Infectious Diseases Epidemiology.
Medicine is not trial and error; well-developed medicine had been in exitence before the advent of Islam and I am not talking of concortions. grin grin But that is not the point for discussion, as I said, the website is full of false claims. Now you want to start talking about Quran and medicine, you guys sef, na waa for una and this your all-in-all al-Quran sef, seriously grin grin

Olabowale and other muslims on nairaland, Christ has said it before that false prophets shall arise. You and i dont need God to come down from heaven to tell us who these prophets were or are. By their fruits we shall know them. Some of the fruits inherent in those false prophets are; womanizing and violence, which your islamic prophet posses more than any other prophet that has ever lived. Your prophet is not in any way different from Rev. King the false prophet that is standing trial for murder in nigeria. And i still say it to you Olabowale that your wife has never been a christian before; she was just a church goer and thats all. She was in limbo before she met you. No christian, i repeat will ever marry a muslim. Your desire for plenty women and violence has disqualified you all.
Re: Prophet Muhammad in the Bible by Nobody: 5:21pm On Sep 25, 2006
I wonder if they need permission from the first wife to marry another.
If so,she must be crazy to say yes.
If not, where is the love people?

well spoken,Havila.
The Koran says allah formed man from sperm dot.Whose sperm I ask, does allah have genitals?
That is the medicine he wants to teach us.
tell me something else!!

@Havila and @Babyosisi; We aught to agree that it is very difficult to take a seat at the fountain of true knowledge. Whereas it is very easy to be ignorant. One does not have to make any effort to be Ignorant.

With is in mind, we need to observe many things about Qur'an and hadiths as relating to Medicine. It is true that Qur'an made many clear statements alluding to Medicine. Therefore, I call your attentions to the Website in question: www.answering-christianity.com. What I will like tou to do is to go through the section 4, which provides ample thesis culled from Qur'an on various medical subject matters;Embryology, Human Anatomy, Formation and creation from the time of sexual intercourse to th time of birth.

Still under this section 4, you have stages of fetal development.
Indication that clearly states the part of the brain which is used for lying.
the part of the brain that controls movement.

Sex and gender determination is based on condition of the male ejaculated semen.
Matters of the finger print being as unique to individual as the person itself.
Blood circulation and Milk production.
The heart and even its usage as an organ for thinking in addition to the brain.

Section 6 should be noted as well. Here you will find information about ;

The medicinal properties of Animal Urine, eg the Camel.
Camel, Bees and Bacteriophages.

What i ask you to do is to provide the time line for when any of these are known in the fields of medicine, period. You must consider the period before Muhammad (AS), during his time and after his time on earth.
You then must consider his arabian enviroment and his personal book academic quality. Bearing in mind that he was proclaimed even in the Qur'an that he had received (AS) as an Unlettered.
Tell me what reference book of medicine sources were available to the Arabs and to Muhammad, specifically.

You must put everything in contest to include all civilations before, during and after his life. You must now tell us when did the medical/related science community of the world came to know what the know that Muhammad had alluded to in over 14 centuaries ago.

As to my saying that medicine is not an exact science, it is my believe that you as a Medical knows it as a correct statement. I ma referring to you Dr. havila. Is there any medicine that you know,in the history of man, that was formulated, used for the very first time that worked as intended?

What I mean is this; Take for example the simple Penicillin, when the ingredient was formulated, the strenght of that formulation, which could cure the desease it is being designed for had to go through testings. Yet you have many different strenght of the same medicine even today. Doctor make a particular strenght, if there is no noticeable effect, the strenght is adjusted for stronger or weaker one, until there is a sign that it is taking effect against the symtom.
Some deseases are never cure, even though the symtom may have been arrest.

What I will like you to do is to read through the Qur'anic explanations and use this opportunity to visit other sites.

In my past, up to 2000, I was just a muslim. Even though I clearly saw a marked diffence in me, between the decadence of late 60s and the mid 80s. 2000 brought everything to a boil for me. The year 2000 was when I was able to stand around a dead body. In 73, my maternal grandmother died in my arm. In 81, I mistakenly entered a funeral home to visit the owner. There I saw a lot of bodies laying down. In my naiveness, I did not pay any attention that they were already dead. This was my mid twenties. You thought you are still on top of the world, which was the mindset you carry from preteen or teenage years.

2000, I lost a friend. During his last few hours alive, I was making my night prayers. I did not know that he was dying. As a brother to me in Islam, I realised that one can die at any time.

After this time, I decide to pay attention to doing good and not be so self absorbed. That year i moved to Brooklyn. I attached myself to the Masjid and volunteered my time as much as possible.
Sometimes in August of that year, the community lost a member. They need volunteers to wash and prepare his body for burial. I foolishly volunteered! I discarded my timitness about death. The experience was a shock to me!

As a young man in nigeria, every one wanted to be a Doctor, an Engineer, a Lawyer or an Accountant, etc.
I studied science and math and loved them more that other subjects like Geography, etc. I knew from my youth i did not like the signt of blood, this was my having a distaste for all types of medical fields. So, with this as a background, i have human to human respect for those study medicine or its related faculties. For it is not knowing the book work alone that qualifies a person for this job. One needs to be kind, patient and very compassionate.

What i experience at the first washing of a body sticks to my memory as it it was just yesterday. First, i had fasted that day and it was at the time that I was going to break my fast that we had to leave for this duty. I just ate a piece of bread and drank some juice. However as we got to the funeral home on Atlantic Avenue, the reality set in for me.
I felt like throwing up. But it will not come. My stomach become strong all of a sudden, but the rest of my body was different. I was chilled to the core. As we got to the washing place, you saw a lot of dead bodies in body bags. Life had a different meaning for me.

We spent about 2-3 hours preparing this man for burial. I noticed that no one calls a dead body by the name that it was called while alive. Most people do not want to keep their dead in the house. So you see, my dearest brothers and sisters in mankind, death is something that will come. We must prepare for it. More importantly, we must do all that is proper in faith to the One God and do good and hope to receive His mercy.

How can we do this. God is One. His command is very clear. He never changed, before Jesus and after Jesus (AS). The path laid out for man is constant. It is a duty to individual that he/she obey God in the true faith and doing good deeds seeking the pleasure of the Most Merciful. I think we should not be in haste to seek the truth, even though it might be as hard to handle as if own was to hold in bare hand a red hot amber from coal.

"The existence of a few non-Arabic words does not make the Qur’an non-Arabic as the verses indicate."

And we say to Suyuti: "We know that the Qur’an is an Arabic book, but the Qur’an denies that it contains non-Arabic words (refer to verses 16:103; 41:44). It is obvious that this is a contradiction, especially since there are about 118 non-Arabic words—not just five or ten words. The simple explanation for this contradiction is that Muhammad himself did not know that the origin of the words he employed in the Qur’an were non-Arabic. He was not aware that some of them were Persian, Ethiopian, Berber, Turkish and Nabatean; thus, he claimed that the entire Qur’an was revealed in pure Arabic language!
Re: Prophet Muhammad in the Bible by Backslider(m): 10:20pm On Sep 25, 2006
Muslim scholars cited Muhammad as an example, and the issue became more complicated, for what would happen to the poor wife if her husband devoted his love to another wife? She cannot object because, based on the Qur’anic text and by the example set by Muhammad, her husband is innocent of any wrongdoing. The Qur’an asserts that you cannot, from an emotional point-of-view, treat women justly, and Muhammad himself has rejected the request of his daughter, Fatima, to treat all his wives alike and not to bestow on A’isha, his favorite spouse, more than the rest of them. He expressed his favoritism publicly several times. He planned to divorce Sauda (one of his other wives). Some said he already did then he reinstated her when she agreed to relinquish her night for A’isha. What a pity for the Muslim women!

Read the link I sent also and see what made the writer of the concocted Islamic site mad.

No one who has tasted of the fountain of truth can turn back to fables.
We have seen thousands like you come to Christ, some are here on this site.

Infact the other wives used to lose their turns for Aisha.
Aisha herself was very jealous of the preetier wives,I'll give the quotations in her words later.
Re: Prophet Muhammad in the Bible by Backslider(m): 10:34pm On Sep 25, 2006
A hadith reports one defendant’s meeting with women where he called them “deficient in intelligence and religion”:

”Once Allah's Apostle went out to the Musalla (to offer the prayer) o 'Id-al-Adha or Al-Fitr prayer. Then he passed by the women and said, "O women! Give alms, [this money would go to him as the viceroy of God on Earth and he would distribute it to those whose favor he was seeking or to make the show of generosity] as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-fire were you (women)." They asked, "Why is it so, O Allah's Apostle ?" He replied, "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you. A cautious sensible man could be led astray by some of you." The women asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?" He said, "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her intelligence. Isn't it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses?" The women replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her religion." [12]

The above is a flagrant case of misogyny where the defendant commits the travesty of first taking the rights of the women away and then condemning them for not having those rights. Not only he injures, but he adds salt to the injury by blaming the victim. This hadith is reported by various narrators and is also recorded by Sahih Muslim, which makes it one of the most authoritative hadiths of Muhammad.
Re: Prophet Muhammad in the Bible by Nobody: 10:40pm On Sep 25, 2006
Neither can they do hajj during menses or during postnatal bleeding period because allah does not approve it.

Christ welcomes all women anytime.
Come worship him, there is no discrimination at all.
In Christ there is no male or female,Jew or gentile, bond or free.
We are all one in him.
Come as you are and He will wash you clean.

The apologists are ever so quick to tell us that the place of women in Islam equals no other; they affirm this theory by telling us that Aisha led a battle, what they never tell us is that that battle was against Ali her step son-in-law, the gruesome murder of Hussein.

Dear Uncle OlaB,
I read all the 'allusions' to the scientific discoveries of your muhammed from the web-site and the quran; and I saw a desperate people in you and the authors of the website. Desperate people trying to give credibility to what is ridiculous and inglorious. Never have I encountered an utterly senseless set of 'allusions' as those contained on the website, while trying to get cross-integrity by quoting equally insolvent professors. Why are you trying at all cost to make muhammed what he is clearly not? trying to increase his acceptance in modern day I guess. There is nothing in the quranic verses that could be described as logically pointing to embryonic developmet; that is only in the minds of peoples like you who are trying to make un-necessary and false allusions.

For example: "Now let man but think From what he is created!  He is created from A drop emitted -- Proceedings from between the backbone and the ribs:   Surely (Allah) is able To bring him back (To life)!  The Day that (All) things secret Will be tested, (Man) will have No power, And no helper.  (Quran, 86:5-10)"

In your own warped judgement, this is an attestation to the fact that muhammed is talking about male sex from the Y chromosome, right? what an utter load of rubbish. So from where is the female created if not from the same 'drop emitted'. Dont you realise that the 'man' being referred to in this quranic verse is just a literal translation of "MAN"; both male and female. Just like when the Living God said in the bible, 'Let us create 'man' in our own image'. That man refers to both male and females. Get understanding and stop making ridiculously bizzare allusions' while trying to potray muhammed as a gifted person rather than the blood thirsty man he actually is. The same goes for all the other allusions to science from quran on the website.

Part 2: I disagree with you that 'one does not make an effort to be ignorant'. I believe a lot of peoples are actually trying very hard to be really ignorant from some of the postson this forum; and very resistant to new knowledge because of long-standing indoctrination. Can you tell me anything of human creation (engineering, politics, law, computing etc) that worked perfectly the very first time it was`created?; because that was your premise for saying medicine is not an exact science. Posting that medicine is trial and error is a ridiculous statement, but I can tell you that medical advances has evolved from well conducted clinical trials (not trial and error that suggest guess work). I am not going to join issues with you on that aspect because it is not necessary, you don't have a clue; when I need enginnering lessons, I will call you, sir grin grin
Stop relying on ridiculous allusions from the quran made by ignorant peoples despreately trying to make a star out of a wood-trying to make a man of widom out of muhammed!!He obviously is not
Re: Prophet Muhammad in the Bible by olabowale(m): 2:03pm On Sep 26, 2006
@havila: Thanks for your reply. In the verse that you quoted, no stated that provides the male sex birth. However, you need to agree with me that it is the condition of the male semen that places a part in the gender of the baby. the female egg has nothing to do with it. i can talk to you about the ph of the liquid thereof, but that is beside the point. As a Doctor please explain the condition that has to take place for a child to be a male and please explain the condition for a female birth as well.

From the Bible, are you saying that you do look like God, since you have quated that you are created by Him in His own Image? Are you like God, inside and outside.

I remember when HIV/AIDS became known in the USA. I think it was in 82 when the head of CDC, Dr Faucci went to Africa and all over the world. Initially, there was no understanding of it whatsoever. later on, they began to give cocktail of medicine to try to find the right drug for. From 100 tables per day, in over 23-24 years of research, they have in the west have been able to provide a one a day table!

For God, the cure of HIV/AIDS was prescibed all along. Do not fornicate or commit adultery. You see curing a symptom is inferior to curing the desease by preventing the desease to occur in the first place. The God that allowed jesus, as a sign of his prophethood to raise a dead to live has given the proper curing presciption for all deseases.

Since you asked me for perfect injuction in law, it is in itself the law of God that is perfect.

In a little of engineering that i know, if you are to build a bridge or any super structure, you begin to take into account all the activities that may happen with it. You begin with the analysis and calculations of its structure: What weight ; maximum and minimum it is to carry/support. The flow of load will come into place, etc. It is with this in mind that you will calculate the material strenght, structurally that will consist all the resins or admixture and the consistency of the concrete/cement to be pured. You also calculate without the dead load/weight considering many factures like turbulence, the other elements, like coroding and decaying agents and process. Allof this you have compensate for to a minimum standard. Every detail must be considered. The soil is even analysed for moist percentage and the overall strenght of the soil plays a part. The thickness of the structure that is in question is calculated. The uptimost attention is paid to its shearing point. In all conditions, you are making sure that it meets the standard that it is required.

If the materials are over compensated for, you will waste money. If you do not design to a minimum standard for which the structure is to be able to handle the traffic, in the case of road or even bridge for example, before long at best, you begin to see a break down of the material. You have to do over. This is a waste of money. In a worse case scenerio, lives may be lost. A good example is the poorly design Levee in New Orlean. It was not designed for the strenght to withstand the flow of water that horricane Katrina brought.

For example, I have a lot of friend who studied medicine in the old soviet block countries. Their approach to medicine is more of psychological observations, because they did not have very many state of the art instruments. This is the reverse for those who studied in the West.

If you believe that the there are no muslim in medicine, then I beg to defer with you. Do think that this people have not analysted the Qur'an claim from critical perception. Are you saying that Dr. maurice Buccaire of France is a poor scholar.
When i was very young, foolishly, I thought very jamaican was a bum. Until, you encounter them in academic settings. You will realise that they are just as good as anybody. the difference in individual is how one applys oneself. Before Medicine, there was God. Brfore man there was God. The same God exists today. he will exist after we all gone.

I hope medicine will not delude you that you will not believe that the God Who created the first time, will recreat again. You and me will meet Him for judgement.

@Yes Bro Olab,

I think you were the one that says there no where Stoning is allowed

Please read this Hadiths they say the same things

Volume 2, Book 23, Number 413:
Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar :

The Jew brought to the Prophet a man and a woman from amongst them who have committed (adultery) illegal sexual intercourse. He ordered both of them to be stoned (to death), near the place of offering the funeral prayers beside the mosque."

Volume 3, Book 34, Number 421:
Narrated 'Aisha:

Sad bin Abi Waqqas and 'Abu bin Zam'a quarreled over a boy. Sad said, "O Allah's Apostle! This boy is the son of my brother ('Utba bin Abi Waqqas) who took a promise from me that I would take him as he was his (illegal) son. Look at him and see whom he resembles." 'Abu bin Zam'a said, "O Allah's Apostle! This is my brother and was born on my father's bed from his slave-girl." Allah's Apostle cast a look at the boy and found definite resemblance to 'Utba and then said, "The boy is for you, O 'Abu bin Zam'a. The child goes to the owner of the bed and the adulterer gets nothing but the stones (despair, i.e. to be stoned to death). Then the Prophet said, "O Sauda bint Zama! Screen yourself from this boy." So, Sauda never saw him again.

The bedouin said, "My son was a laborer working for this man, and he committed illegal sexual intercourse with his wife. The people told me that my son should be stoned to death; so, in lieu of that, I paid a ransom of one hundred sheep and a slave girl to save my son. Then I asked the learned scholars who said, "Your son has to be lashed one-hundred lashes and has to be exiled for one year." The Prophet said, "No doubt I will judge between you according to Allah's Laws. The slave-girl and the sheep are to go back to you, and your son will get a hundred lashes and one year exile." He then addressed somebody, "O Unais! go to the wife of this (man) and stone her to death" So, Unais went and stoned her to death.

A bedouin came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's apostle! I ask you by Allah to judge My case according to Allah's Laws." His opponent, who was more learned than he, said, "Yes, judge between us according to Allah's Laws, and allow me to speak." Allah's Apostle said, "Speak." He (i .e. the bedouin or the other man) said, "My son was working as a laborer for this (man) and he committed illegal sexual intercourse with his wife. The people told me that it was obligatory that my son should be stoned to death, so in lieu of that I ransomed my son by paying one hundred sheep and a slave girl. Then I asked the religious scholars about it, and they informed me that my son must be lashed one hundred lashes, and be exiled for one year, and the wife of this (man) must be stoned to death." Allah's Apostle said, "By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, I will judge between you according to Allah's Laws. The slave-girl and the sheep are to be returned to you, your son is to receive a hundred lashes and be exiled for one year. You, Unais, go to the wife of this (man) and if she confesses her guilt, stone her to death." Unais went to that woman next morning and she confessed. Allah's Apostle said to them, "What do you find in the Torah (old Testament) about the legal punishment of Ar-Rajm (stoning)?" They replied, (But) we announce their crime and lash them." Abdullah bin Salam said, "You are telling a lie; Torah contains the order of Rajm." They brought and opened the Torah and one of them solaced his hand on the Verse of Rajm and read the verses preceding and following it. Abdullah bin Salam said to him, "Lift your hand." When he lifted his hand, the Verse of Rajm was written there. They said, "Muhammad has told the truth; the Torah has the Verse of Rajm. The Prophet then gave the order that both of them should be stoned to death. ('Abdullah bin 'Umar said, "I saw the man leaning over the woman to shelter her from the stones."

They replied, "We blacken their faces with coal and beat them," He said, "Don't you find the order of Ar-Rajm (i.e. stoning to death) in the Torah?" They replied, "We do not find anything in it." 'Abdullah bin Salam (after hearing this conversation) said to them. "You have told a lie! Bring here the Torah and recite it if you are truthful." (So the Jews brought the Torah). And the religious teacher who was teaching it to them, put his hand over the Verse of Ar-Rajm and started reading what was written above and below the place hidden with his hand, but he did not read the Verse of Ar-Rajm. 'Abdullah bin Salam removed his (i.e. the teacher's) hand from the Verse of Ar-Rajm and said, "What is this?" So when the Jews saw that Verse, they said, "This is the Verse of Ar-Rajm." So the Prophet ordered the two adulterers to be stoned to death, and they were stoned to death near the place where biers used to be placed near the Mosque. I saw her companion (i.e. the adulterer) bowing over her so as to protect her from the stones.

'Asim took the man to the Prophet and the man told him of the state in which he had found his wife. The man was pale, thin, and of lank hair, while the other man whom he claimed he had seen with his wife, was brown, fat and had much flesh on his calves. The Prophet invoked, saying, 'O Allah! Reveal the truth.' So that lady delivered a child resembling the man whom her husband had mentioned he had found her with. The Prophet then made them carry out Lian." Then a man from that gathering asked Ibn 'Abbas, "Was she the same lady regarding which the Prophet had said, 'If I were to stone to death someone without witness, I would have stoned this lady'?" He said, "My son was a laborer serving this (person) and he committed illegal sexual intercourse with his wife, The people said that my son is to be stoned to death, but I ransomed him with one-hundred sheep and a slave girl. Then I asked the learned people, who informed me that my son should receive one hundred lashes and will be exiled for one year, and stoning will be the lot for the man's wife." Allah's Apostle said, "Indeed, by Him in Whose Hand my soul is, I will judge between you according to Allah's Laws: As for your sheep and slave girl, they are to be returned to you." Then he scourged his son one hundred lashes and exiled him for one year. Then Unais Al-Aslami was ordered to go to the wife of the second man, and if she confessed (the crime), then stone her to death. She did confess, so he stoned her to death.

The Torah was brought, and then one of the Jews put his hand over the Divine Verse of the Rajam (stoning to death) and started reading what preceded and what followed it. He said, "My son was a laborer for the family of this man and he committed illegal sexual intercourse with his wife, and I gave one-hundred sheep and a slave as a ransom (for my son), but I asked the religious learned people (regarding this case), and they informed me that my son should be flogged one-hundred stripes, and be exiled for one year, and the wife of this man should be stoned (to death)."The Prophet said, "By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, I will Judge you (in this case) according to Allah's Laws. The one-hundred (sheep) and the slave shall be returned to you and your son shall be flogged one-hundred stripes and be exiled for one year. And O Unais! from Sahih Muslim

Book 017, Number 4191:
'Ubada b. as-Samit reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Receive (teaching) from me, receive (teaching) from me. Allah has ordained a way for those (women). When an unmarried male commits adultery with an unmarried female (they should receive) one hundred lashes and banishment for one year. And in case of married male committing adultery with a married female, they shall receive one hundred lashes and be stoned to death.

Book 017, Number 4194:
'Abdullah b. 'Abbas reported that 'Umar b. Khattab sat on the pulpit of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: Verily Allah sent Muhammad (may peace be upon him) with truth and He sent down the Book upon him, and the verse of stoning was included in what was sent down to him. We recited it, retained it in our memory and understood it. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) awarded the punishment of stoning to death (to the married adulterer and adulteress) and, after him, we also awarded the punishment of stoning, I am afraid that with the lapse of time, the people (may forget it) and may say: We do not find the punishment of stoning in the Book of Allah, and thus go astray by abandoning this duty prescribed by Allah. Stoning is a duty laid down in Allah's Book for married men and women who commit adultery when proof is established, or it there is pregnancy, or a confession.

Book 017, Number 4196:
Abu Huraira reported that a person from amongst the Muslims came to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) while he was in the mosque. He called him saying: Allah's Messenger. I have committed adultery. He (the Holy Prophet) turned away from him, He (again) came round facing him and said to him: Allah's Messenger, I have committed adultery. He (the Holy Prophet) turned away until he did that four times, and as he testified four times against his own self, Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) called him and said: Are you mad? He said: No. He (again) said: Are you married? He said: Yes. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Take him and stone him. Ibn Shihab (one of the narrators) said: One who had heard Jabir b. 'Abdullah saying this informed me thus: I was one of those who stoned him. We stoned him at the place of prayer (either that of 'Id or a funeral). When the stones hurt him, he ran away. We caught him in the Harra and stoned him (to death). This hadith has been narrated through another chain of transmitters.

Book 017, Number 4198:
Jabir b. Samura reported: As he was being brought to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) I saw Ma'iz b. Malik-a short-statured person with strong sinews, having no cloak around him. He bore witness against his own self four times that he had committed adultery, whereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Perhaps (you kissed her or embraced her). He said: No. by God, one deviating (from the path of virtue) has committed adultery. He then got him stoned (to death), and then delivered the address: Behold, as we set out for Jihad in the cause of Allah, one of you lagged behind and shrieked like the bleating of a male goat, and gave a small quantity of milk. By Allah, in case I get hold of him, I shall certainly punish him.

Book 017, Number 4199:
Jabir b. Samura reported that there was brought to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) a short-statured person with thick uncombed hair, muscular body, having a mantle around him and he had committed adultery. He turned him away twice and then made pronouncement about him and he was stoned. Then Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: We set out for Jihad in the cause of Allah and one of you lagged behind and shrieked like the bleating of a male goat and one of then (goats' gave a small quantity of milk. In case Allah gives me power over one of them, I will punish him (in such a way that it may have a deterrent effect upon others). In another narration transmitted on the authority of Sa'id b Jubair (the words are), that He (the Holy Prophet) turned him away four times."

Book 017, Number 4201:
Ibn Abbas reported that Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) said to Ma'iz b. Malik: Is it true what has reached me about you? He said: What has reached you about me? He said: It has reached me that you have committed (adultery) with the slave-girl of so and so? He said: Yes. He (the narrator) said: He testified four times. He (the Holy Prophet) then made pronouncement about him and he was stoned (to death).

Book 017, Number 4202:
Abu Sa'id reported that a person belonging to the clan of Aslam, who was called Ma, iz b. Malik, came to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: I have committed immorality (adultery), so inflict punishment upon me. Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) turned him away again and again. He then asked his people (about the state of his mind). They said: We do not know of any ailment of his except that he has committed something about which he thinks that he would not be able to relieve himself of its burden but with the Hadd being imposed upon him. He (Ma'iz) came back to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) and he commanded us to stone him. We took him to the Baqi' al-Gharqad (the graveyard of Medina). We neither tied him nor dug any ditch for him. We attacked him with bones, with clods and pebbles. He ran away and we ran after him until he came upon the ston ground (al-Harra) and stopped there and we stoned him with heavy stones of the Harra until he became motionless (lie died). He (the Holy Prophet) then addressed (us) in the evening saying Whenever we set forth on an expedition in the cause of Allah, some one of those connected with us shrieked (under the pressure of sexual lust) as the bleating of a male goat. It is essential that if a person having committed such a deed is brought to me, I should punish him. He neither begged forgiveness for him nor cursed him.

Book 017, Number 4205:
Sulaiman b. Buraida reported on the authority of his father that Ma, iz b. Malik came to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said to him: Messenger of Allah, purify me, whereupon he said: Woe be upon you, go back, ask forgiveness of Allah and turn to Him in repentance. He (the narrator) said that he went back not far, then came and said: Allah's Messenger, purify me. whereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Woe be upon you, go back and ask forgiveness of Allah and turn to Him in repentance. He (the narrator) said that he went back not far, when he came and said: Allah's Messenger, purify me. Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) said as he had said before. When it was the fourth time, Allah's Messenger (may, peace be upon him) said: From what am I to purify you? He said: From adultery, Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) asked if he had been mad. He was informed that he was not mad. He said: Has he drunk wine? A person stood up and smelt his breath but noticed no smell of wine. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Have you committed adultery? He said: Yes. He made pronouncement about him and he was stoned to death. The people had been (divided) into two groups about him (Ma'iz). One of them said: He has been undone for his sins had encompassed him, whereas another said: There is no repentance more excellent than the repentance of Ma'iz, for he came to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) and placing his hand in his (in the Holy Prophet's) hand said: Kill me with stones. (This controversy about Ma'iz) remained for two or three days. Then came Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) to them (his Companions) as they were sitting. He greeted them with salutation and then sat down and said: Ask forgiveness for Ma'iz b. Malik. They said: May Allah forgive Ma'iz b. Malik. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: He (Ma'iz) has made such a repentance that if that were to be divided among a people, it would have been enough for all of them. He (the narrator) said: Then a woman of Ghamid, a branch of Azd, came to him and said: Messenger of of Allah, purify me, whereupon he said: Woe be upon you; go back and beg forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance. She said: I find that you intend to send me back as you sent back Ma'iz. b. Malik. He (the Holy, Prophet) said: What has happened to you? She said that she had become pregnant as a result of fornication. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Is it you (who has done that)? She said: Yes. He (the Holy Prophet) said to her: (You will not be punished) until you deliver what is there in your womb. One of the Ansar became responsible for her until she was delivered (of the child). He (that Ansari) came to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said the woman of Ghamid has given birth to a child. He (the Holy Prophet) said: In that case we shall not stone her and so leave her infant with none to suckle him. One of the Ansar got up and said: Allah's Apostle, let the responsibility of his suckling be upon me. She was then stoned to death.

Book 017, Number 4206:
'Abdullah b. Buraida reported on the authority of his father that Ma'iz b. Malik al-Aslami came to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: Allah's Messenger, I have wronged myself; I have committed adultery and I earnestly desire that you should purify me. He turned him away. On the following day, he (Ma'iz) again came to him and said: Allah's Messenger, I have committed adultery. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) turned him away for the second time, and sent him to his people saying: Do you know if there is anything wrong with his mind. They denied of any such thing in him and said: We do not know him but as a wise good man among us, so far as we can judge. He (Ma'iz) came for the third time, and he (the Holy Prophet) sent him as he had done before. He asked about him and they informed him that there was nothing wrong with him or with his mind. When it was the fourth time, a ditch was dug for him and he (the Holy Prophet) pronounced judg- ment about him and he wis stoned. He (the narrator) said: There came to him (the Holy Prophet) a woman from Ghamid and said: Allah's Messenger, I have committed adultery, so purify me. He (the Holy Prophet) turned her away. On the following day she said: Allah's Messenger, Why do you turn me away? Perhaps, you turn me away as you turned away Ma'iz. By Allah, I have become pregnant. He said: Well, if you insist upon it, then go away until you give birth to (the child). When she was delivered she came with the child (wrapped) in a rag and said: Here is the child whom I have given birth to. He said: Go away and suckle him until you wean him. When she had weaned him, she came to him (the Holy Prophet) with the child who was holding a piece of bread in his hand. She said: Allah's Apostle, here is he as I have weaned him and he eats food. He (the Holy Prophet) entrusted the child to one of the Muslims and then pronounced punishment. And she was put in a ditch up to her chest and he commanded people and they stoned her. Khalid b Walid came forward with a stone which he flung at her head and there spurted blood on the face of Khalid and so he abused her. Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) heard his (Khalid's) curse that he had huried upon her. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Khalid, be gentle. By Him in Whose Hand is my life, she has made such a repentance that even if a wrongful tax-collector were to repent, he would have been forgiven. Then giving command regarding her, he prayed over her and she was buried.

Book 017, Number 4207:
Imran b. Husain reported that a woman from Juhaina came to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) and she had become pregnant because of adultery. She said: Allah's Apostle, I have done something for which (prescribed punishment) must be imposed upon me, so impose that. Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) called her master and said: Treat her well, and when she delivers bring her to me. He did accordingly. Then Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) pronounced judgment about her and her clothes were tied around her and then he commanded and she was stoned to death. He then prayed over her (dead body). Thereupon Umar said to him: Allah's Apostle, you offer prayer for her, whereas she had committed adultery! Thereupon he said: She has made such a repentance that if it were to be divided among seventy men of Medina, it would be enough. Have you found any repentance better than this that she sacr ficed her life for Allah, the Majestic?

Book 017, Number 4209:
Abu Huraira and Zaid b Khalid al-Juhani reported that one of the desert tribes came to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: Messenger of Allah, I beg of you in the name of Allah that you pronounce judgment about me according to the Book of Allah. The second claimant who was wiser than him said: Well, decide amongst us according to the Book of Allah, but permit me (to say something). Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon ham) said: Say. He said: My son was a servant in the house of this person and he committed adultery with his wife. I was informed that my son deserved stoning to death (as punishment for this offence). I gave one hundred goats and a slave girl as ransom for this. I asked the scholars (if this could serve as an expiation for this offence). They informed me that my son deserved one hundred lathes and exile for one year. and this woman deserved stoning (as she was married). Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace he upon him) said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life. I will decide between you according to the Book of Allah. The slave-girl and the goats should be given back, and your son is to be punished with one hundred lashes and exile for one year. And, O Unais (b. Zuhaq al-Aslami), go to this woman in the morning, and if she makes a confession, then stone her. He (the narrator) said: He went to her in the morning and she made a confession. And Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) made pronouncement about her and she was stoned to death.

Book 017, Number 4211:
Abdullah b. 'Umar reported that a Jew and a Jewess were brought to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) who had committed adultery. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) came to the Jews and said: What do you find in Torah for one who commits adultery? They said: We darken their faces and make them ride on the donkey with their faces turned to the opposite direction (and their backs touching each other), and then they are taken round (the city). He said: Bring Torah if you are truthful. They brought it and recited it until when they came to the verse pertaining to stoning, the person who was reading placed his hand on the verse pertaining to stoning, and read (only that which was) between his hands and what was subsequent to that. Abdullah b. Salim who was at that time with the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Command him (the reciter) to lift his hand. He lifted it and there was, underneath that, the verse pertaining to stoning. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) pronounced judgment about both of them and they were stoned. Abdullah b. 'Umar said: I was one of those who stoned them, and I saw him (the Jew) protecting her (the Jewess) with his body.

Book 017, Number 4212:
Ibn Umar reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) stoned to death the Jews, both male and female, who had committed adultery. The Jews brought them to Allah's Messenger (may peace he upon him). The rest of the hadith is the same.

Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported that Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) stoned (to death) a person from Banu Aslam, and a Jew and his wife.

Book 020, Number 4483:
It has been narrated on the authority of Amir b. Sa'd b. Abu Waqqas who said: I wrote (a letter) to Jabir b. Samura and sent it to him through my servant Nafi', asking him to inform me of something he had heard from the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). He wrote to me (in reply): I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) say on Friday evening, the day on which al-Aslami was stoned to death (for committing adultery): The Islamic religion will continue until the Hour has been established, or you have been ruled over by twelve Caliphs, all of them being from the Quraish. also heard him say: A small force of the Muslims will capture the white palace, the police of the Persian Emperor or his descendants. I also heard him say: Before the Day of Judgment there will appear (a number of) impostors. You are to guard against them. I also heard him say: When God grants wealth to any one of you, he should first spend it on himself and his family (and then give it in charity to the poor). I heard him (also) say: I will be your forerunner at the Cistern (expecting your arrival).

Stoning someone to death for committing adultery?
This seems rather too harsh for a crime that Jesus can forgive!!
All you need to do is call on his name.
He is as close as the mention of his name.

@Babyosisi; Are you suggesting that adultery or fornication is not abig deal? Aren't you was talking about HIV/AIDS on another thread? It is not better and somewhat contained if people are in a stricted sexual circle, like more than 1 wife to a husband. In this case, if there is any health crisis, they can contain it and find from this group where is the source so that it can be treated adequately.

Unlike the free for all where there is no restriction. This was how HIV spread so quickly in the bath houses of the west. This place provided the wild orgies to to those people and they went for it.

@Babyosisi: I went to those websites. I even discovered some of my own. I wonder who wrote those stories. They have more holes in them than the swiss cheese. I pity the liars. Then i pity myself. However, I am responding to them. Raising some interesting topics in Bible and Qur'an as applicable.

Olabowale,we are adults and mature so I 'll be plain without being graphic.
Adultery is simply when 2 consenting adults decide to engage in sexual intercourse outside of marriage.
A muslim man with 4 wives is hardly a faithful man for the word is non existent in a polygamous arrangement.
If he were faithful,he should have had no need for a second "bedmate".
By same token the word adultery should be not existent when a man has a choice to sleep with 4 women(In some instances more).

That said,In Christianity,adultery is a sin,no worse than lying,cheating and stealing.
The eternal punishment for an unrepentant adulterer is same for a liar.
In the old testament the punishment was also stoning but Christ came with a better covenant,a covenant that includes mercy not an eye for an eye.
When Christ met the woman about to be stoned to death for adultery his words were "let him who is without sin cast the first throw".
An adulterer like anyone else can repent and stoning her to death does not give her that opportunity.

So would you recommend that adulterers and fornicators be put to death?,have you never erred along those lines, who hasn't?.
The Bible says a man that looks on a woman with lust has already committed adultery, how do you plan on treating those.
Free for all like you put it is not a Chrstian virtue, nothing in Christianity says sex outside of marriage is OK,if it is rampant in the west(like all Nigerians are saints),it is because the soceity is a free one not because Christ condones it.

Muslims in muslim countries still commit adultery and fornication despite sharia,Muslims in the west are also involved in the ills of this soceity including the aforementioned.
There are muslim gays, lesbians, transgender and muslim men on the down low. There are ads of muslim females seeking muslim females and that for males.
wasn't a saudi prince caught with his gay lover outside of saudi recently?
It is a soceital ill,has nothing to do with location.
But to kill someone for adultery is way too extreme.
What do you say about Muhammad that slept with slave girls AKA war booties, why was he not put to death?probably he was above Allah's laws.

No one is beyond repentance perhaps the concept of repentance is unIslamic so you don't understand it.
Ours is a God full of grace and mercy that calls on all to come and drink of his living fountain.
Yours is a God without compassion.
That's why we still insist that Jehovah God almighty cannot be same as Allah because they have totally different attributes.

@Babyosisi: Allah is Algafur, AlRahman, AlRahiim; This means that Allah is the Forgiver of all sins, Ther merciful; this mercy covers every thing created, then the Benefient; the beneficience is reserved for the day of Judgement.
So Babyosisi, if Muslims has a punishment for Adultery and even fornication, both you complained about, what is it that will satisfy you. Really?

The One that has the right to accept repentance offers and open door for us all to repent. No one that has performed any ills for the first time is ever caught. The ones who are caught are repeated offenders. the become complasant. It becomes a second nature. in their carelessness, they allow the authority to catch up to them.

The Muslimsfrown on flirtacious behavior. However it is not the thought, but it is the acting upon the thought, that is the manifestation of sin. I will never say that Muslims do not have ills, but the majority of us do not act upon it. For example, even though I have never drank socially. Infact the smell of alcohol does not agree with me. However, if it was not that Islam has a law against it, I will be a good social drinker and probably smoke Tobacco along with it. This is my personality, but i do not act upon them.

Concerning prophet Muhammad (AS), have you ever came accross any material in which the Arabs of his day used his morality against him? Never will you find it.

You should judge muslims by the Books of Muslim religion: Qur'an and Hadith. You should judge christians by the book of christianity; Bible. Now we should compare the two to gether and you will see a stark difference.

I agree we should judge Christians by the life and example of Christ and Muslims by the life and example of Muhammad.
The muslims today  are exactly like Muhammad and doing the same deed he did and that is hardly a compliment.
