lizzyorji: You are quite right! These days I discovered that AmazonGlobal Priority Shipping is the cheapest way to ship, especially for items such as laptops, phones and the like. They are honest and they will not charge you bogus hidden fees and inflated CLEARING, PORT HANDLING AND DUTY fees. I shipped a laptop with AmazonGlobal Priority shipping and they only charged me for: 1. Shipping and Handling 2. Import fees deposit The import fees deposit was surprisingly low. When I clicked the link on “Import Fees Deposit” on their checkout page, they explained that if they did not pay customs up to the amount I deposited, they will refund my balance through the medium I used in paying for the transaction. However, if they paid more than the sum they asked me to deposit, they will not ask me to pay more. Imagine! Also, at the Amazon checkout page, if you are using AmazonGlobal Priority Shipping, they will not charge you the usual 9% tax of the cost of the items you purchased. It is Zero tax! I experimented by shipping the same laptop I bought again within that same period using shoptomydoor. They charged me for: 1. Shipping Cost 2. Clearing, Port Handling and Duty 3. Inventory Charge 4. Other Charges 5. VAT At the end of the day, I discovered that I paid shoptomydoor almost double the amount of money I paid to ship the same laptop directly from Amazon using AmazonGlobal Priority Shipping. Mark my words, AmazonGlobal Shipping will soon put all those parcel forwarding services out of business if such companies continue with their exploitative ways. 2 Likes 1 Share |

VKasparov:A few questions 1. How do you guys purchase items that cost more than $100 from Amazon with the current $100 limit banks have imposed on their cards 2. Does Amazon do the shipping to your doorstep? |
Re: Shipping Goods From Usa To Nigeria - Which Is The Cheapest? by VKasparov(m): 8:19pm On Jan 19, 2021 |
Kove: Answer: 1. Buy an Amazon gift card of $100 per each of your banks every month. Buying of gift card was designed by Amazon to be a way for its customers to save for future purchases. It is an E-Wallet so, each time you buy a gift card, it will add to your gift card balance. I spent almost $600 on Amazon on 1st January. This i accumulated in Amazon gift card within just 3 days using my Nigerian debit cards. You see, I have 3 Debit cards: Access Visa Card: NGN 402 per USD Zenith debit card NGN 405 per USD GTBank debit card: NGN 415 per USD. Note: At this same period, shoptomydoor advertised their own exchange rate as NGN 485 per USD. For some reasons, GTBank only allowed me to upload $95.and not the full $100 as advertised. Zenith permitted me to use only $98 , but this is still good. I was able to accumulate $600 on Amazon by reloading my gift card balance with nearly $100 per debit card on 30th December. At the end of the day, I had almost $300 as my Amazon gift card balance. On 1st January, I did same and ended up with almost $600 as my gift card balance. I used this balance at the checkout page of Amazon to pay for the items I bought and to pay for Amazon shipping. 2. As to the question of if they will ship the items to your doorstep, YES they will. They partner with local courier agencies to deliver to your doorstep. Enjoy! 3 Likes |

VKasparov: I need more clarification on the highlighted extracts above. Were the purchased items from Amazon delivered to you at your doorstep in Nigeria? I'm asking this question because I'm an Amazon prime account holder here in the united states and there are some health supplements in Amazon I want to buy and send to my parents in Nigeria and, I have been practically awake all night combing the internet in search of a reliable shipping/ courier services that can deliver these supplements to my folks but I'm so apprehensive of using any of the services because of the negative experiences of the past. I really want to be sure that Amazon delivers directly to the recipient's address in Nigeria just like it does over here and I know of their GSP services but I have never used it to ship outside the united states. Your affirmation will help me to go ahead and purchase these supplements from Amazon and use their global shipping services and send them down to Nigeria to my folks. |

byrron: Yes. They will deliver to your doorstep. They partner with local courier services in Nigeria to do that. If you are still weary, why not ship a cheap item first to try them out. It is usual to be apprehensive when using any new service so, the path of wisdom will be to try them out with a small shipment first until your confidence in them develops. The only downside to Amazon Global Shipping is that they do not offer consolidation if you purchase several items from different merchants. They will ship each item separately. If you are buying several items from different merchants then use myus.com (myus dot com) to ship them. From my experience, they are the best forwarding service. They are an American company hence they are well organized and transparent. They will not exploit you. In fact they use Actual Weight of your items to calculate shipping cost as opposed to Dimensional Weight which some forwarding services use. This makes theirs much cheaper. Also, they have a deal with Amazon and a lot of the other top US shopping sites in that you will not pay the usual 9% tax upon checking out if you are shipping to myus.com. I have used them for several years without disappointment. If you are a frequent shopper like me, it will be wiser to subscribe to their premium service for a small fee. It is cheaper to use the annual subscription method as opposed to the monthly subscription. At the end of the day, even with my premium subscription, I find that they are still cheaper then the others cos they will not charge you any hidden fees. By the time you calculate the hidden fees charged by those forwarding services that claim to offer free 2 weeks storage, you will find that they are more expensive than myus.com in the long run. Besides, myus offers 30 days storage. 1 Like |

Trinity33: I tried a company called ship to naija and they delivered which prompted me to use them for the second time and they delivered as well. I recommend their services and you can check them out through my referral link below since they also have a referral program which is irrelevant to me but just had to use it since I'm deeply certified with their service. https://www.shiptonaija.com/join/refer/CF58CC Thanks. |

byrron:I will be writing my own review on shiptonaija. These guys are crooks and have so many hidden charges. What in the world is a payment surcharge, when you are charging me, black market rate, and also I am paying into your bank. Thieves. First time user and last time user. Will never near them again..thieves 2 Likes |

Afamdman: So sorry about your experiences but our experiences differs. I have never had any issue's with them and the items i sent to Nigeria arrived at the residential destination address in Nigeria without any issue's and I went ahead and used them 2 more time's. I'm not holding any brief for them but I have also not had any negative experience with them and they still remain my go to source for now since they are the one's that also came to the rescue after series of negative experiences with sending items from the US with USPS only for the thieves in Nigeria working at NIPOST to demand for outrageous fee's in other to pick up items sent to Nigeria. Shiptonaija eliminated all those BS and delivered right at the primary destination in Nigeria and that's a huge relief for me. Our experiences differs. |

byrron:lucky you..its simple let them charge what they say they will charge. Instead of these hidden charges. Shipping fees (normal) clearing fees (normal) other charges for sending laptop with battery (understandable) but another extra charge for new laptop (WTF) I got charged $16 for that, then insurance charge (why should I pay this) then the most annoying payment surcharge, why the Bleep should I pay that, when I am paying you black market rate and still paying into your account..God will punish them and their business.they should continue with this sharp practice and they will keep losing customers. Why not tell people the real cost. So they make an informed choice..what's pissing me off, is I had to pay extra cash to ship to their facility from LA. I could have shipped to my agent I normally use in delaware and pay a flat rate of $60 for laptop. They are thieves nothing will change my mind till they stop this hidden charges. If they are so sure, why not place it on their site clearly where they put that their price per pound is $4. Thieves 1 Like |

Afamdman: Having an undisclosed fee is a no-no for me and I completely feel your pain and I will feel the same way just like you are feeling right now. I also shipped from MD to their Texas warehouse but lucky me, I didn't experience any of these and what I shipped were health supplements to my folks back home in Nigeria and I only paid $60 which also included the insurance for the 10 supplements inside the package. I did find out what my approximated bill would be even before shipping to their warehouse and all disclosures were made right from the get go. |

Trinity33: Amazon Global Shipping uses DHL to deliver to your doorstep here in Nigeria. It can't get more genuine than that. There are no hidden charges after you pay. It is as simple as that. After shipping direct from Amazon using Amazon Global Shipping, I have seen the difference and I will never ever use any forwarding service again. |

“Is anybody coming from the U.S to Nigeria soon? I need help with getting a package delivered.” I've seen several tweets like this across my X timeline and always wondered if shipping companies are no longer functioning. I did not realize that shipping can be expensive until I started learning more about logistics. But what if I told you that you could ship your items from the U.S. to Nigeria without breaking the bank or waiting for the next person to visit? Yes! It's possible. In an article, I compared 11 couriers, their rates, and their delivery times so you could see the ones that best suit your needs and your budget. https://blog.heroshe.com/cheapest-way-to-ship-from-the-u-s-to-nigeria/ |
