ZarZar: There's a difference zarzar. Men who usually patronize hotels, especially these classy 5 star hotels, are men of high status and caliber. Men may feel that you'd surely make comparisons with these high classed individual, thereby breeding some form of insecurity, especially if your guy is struggling. |

Lionessza: Exactly! A job is a job, however, lifestyle differences are where I draw the line personally. I can never date a person that goes to clubs because I don't do clubbing. In the long run that would create a drift in the relationship. 1 Like |

JSmart4u: So I should carry the brunt of his insecurities? I think not! Btw, I have worked at a hotel before. Front desk at Sheraton for 3 years & I have never dated a patron or even staff. It's about knowing & valuing what you have. Besides that, those kind of men probably hump their way across the country, so why would I allow myself to be just another lay on the way? I'm too proud. Some women actually respect themselves & aren't easily tempted by power or wealth. Because who doesn't know that some men use their position to get what they want, while knowing fully well that some women are suckers for a guy with a fat wallet. 2 Likes |

JSmart4u: I'm guessing she's Venda then because there must be few Zulus who can actually speak Venda |

Re: Can You Allow Your Girl Friend To Work In A Hotel by JSmart4u(m): 5:15pm On Jun 09, 2017 |
ZarZar: Nah not anymore.i was fluent in zulu language prior travelling to Nigeria, but ever since i returned, its been kinda foggy. Are u zulu? |

JSmart4u: Lol, you forgot so fast? I get you though. No, I'm Xhosa. |
Re: Can You Allow Your Girl Friend To Work In A Hotel by JSmart4u(m): 5:25pm On Jun 09, 2017 |
ZarZar: Lol not that fast though, being too young was the culprit.I actually stayed in Nigeria for almost ten years straight, involuntarily subsititing my knowledge in Zulu with Igbo language. |

ZarZar: Exactly, which is why I always say people should choose their own, a cluber should date a cluber , a church goer for church goer, a porn star for porn star there won't be any confusion just happiness lol. 1 Like |

ZarZar:What makes you think so? |
Re: Can You Allow Your Girl Friend To Work In A Hotel by Nobody: 5:50pm On Jun 09, 2017 |
JSmart4u: Simple logic. Because there weren't Nigerians pre-1994 & most of those who were born here are usually kids. So my guess is, your parents must have been one of the earlier arrivals, which means you're either in your early 20s or late teens since we've already figured out that you're not a pre-schooler. |
Re: Can You Allow Your Girl Friend To Work In A Hotel by JSmart4u(m): 5:58pm On Jun 09, 2017 |
ZarZar: Lol it seems you aspire to be some form of detective. Sometimes logical reasoning could be skewed without adequate information you know.My Dad actually came to south africa(now a south african citizen) before the apartheid era, moreover i came back to South Africa some years back. So miss/mrs detective,it appears your deduction wasn't actually concise |

JSmart4u: Then you must be one of the very few, even him. Hence my thoughts didn't directly go there, knowing the previous restrictions the country had before |
Re: Can You Allow Your Girl Friend To Work In A Hotel by JSmart4u(m): 6:15pm On Jun 09, 2017 |
ZarZar: Every country have restrictions up to a certain degree, but if you qualify as per the criteria stipulated, you wouldn't have any problem entering whichsoever country of interest. Only someone with inadequate resources could've been refuted entry prior to apartheid. |
Re: Can You Allow Your Girl Friend To Work In A Hotel by Nobody: 6:26pm On Jun 09, 2017 |
JSmart4u: Nope, remember, I was also born here. I know what rules were in place. They didn't allow just about anybody to enter the country, particularly people from other African countries. The huge influx of African migrants, happened after Apartheid. 1st it was Zimbabweans & Somalis, the rest followed. |

ZarZar: African lawyers were'nt allowed? |
Re: Can You Allow Your Girl Friend To Work In A Hotel by Nobody: 6:47pm On Jun 09, 2017 |
JSmart4u: Lol, what's special about that? I don't think they would have just allowed anyone in, on the simple grounds that they were lawyers. We had our own, so basically, I don't think that reason alone would have been enough reason to grant anyone & everyone entry into the country Sidenote: Alfred Mangena & Pixley Seme were the 1st black lawyers in SA, as far back as 1910 & 1911, respectively. The 1st black owned law firm was opened by Nelson Mandela & OR Tambo in 1952. Most people don't know that Mandela was a lawyer by profession before he entered politics. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Can You Allow Your Girl Friend To Work In A Hotel by Nobody: 7:37pm On Jun 09, 2017 |
Jayceon: Lol, that's because most people seem to be under the impression that black South Africans were uneducated under Apartheid, which is a fallacy. Fort Hare (in the Eastern Cape) was 1st black university, established in 1916. I guess that's why most people say the Xhosa are the most educated bunch of people, because we pioneered higher level education *Edited* Lovedale missionary institution (also in the Eastern Cape ) was actually the 1st. It opened in the year 1824 1 Like 1 Share

Re: Can You Allow Your Girl Friend To Work In A Hotel by Nobody: 8:00pm On Jun 09, 2017 |
ZarZar:exactly!!! People don't know there were millions of black South Africans going to exclusive schools even in those hard times hence the people who took over from the apartheid government weren't clueless about running a country cos they were educated |
Re: Can You Allow Your Girl Friend To Work In A Hotel by Nobody: 8:18pm On Jun 09, 2017 |
Jayceon: Aha! Actually, I just read that Fort Hare was THE KEY University in the whole of sub-Saharan Africa, for the "African elites". So not only did it provide higher education to South Africans, but also people from other African countries eg. Robert Mugabe, Julius Nyerere, Kenneth Kaunda etc. I'm guessing this was before Apartheid took full force. 1 Like 1 Share |

ZarZar: You need to read about the Fourah Bay College Sierra Leon. It was established by blacks in 1827. Many Nigerians who were privileged to have university education in that century and early 20th century got it from there. It was them white folks who systematically suppressed the rise of Sierra Leon and the college. That's the reason only few people know about it now. It is still in existence, but you know the state Sierra Leon is in now. |
