The Suzy Perez story The former model and backup dancer is struggling. In the ‘90s and early 2000s, Suzy Perez enjoyed a successful career as a model and a dancer. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Suzy moved to America with dreams of being part of the entertainment industry, and it didn’t take long for those dreams to come true. She was a backup dancer for Jennifer Lopez and also worked with Sean Combs. Unfortunately, Suzy’s life took a turn in recent years and she is going through some struggles now. What happened to Suzy Perez? Here’s what we know. What happened to Suzy Perez? Back in the fall of 2019, Univision’s Genela Solano discovered that Suzy Perez was living on the streets and had been battling an addiction to heroin for several years. Suzy reportedly told Genela that after her mother’s death, her life had gone into a downward spiral and she was struggling to stabilize her life. Suzy also revealed that she had a child, then shared a touching message for them: “I love you and want you to know you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” she said into the rolling cameras. Three days later, Univision arranged for a moving reunion between Suzy and her child. In the video of the reunion, Suzy says she is once again going to fight to get her life back on track. After the reunion, Suzy made several steps toward sobriety Recently, Suzy’s many well-wishers have been wondering how the former model has been doing. As part of her journey, Suzy started an Instagram profile where she shared progress photos and kept people in the loop. For a time, it looked as though Suzy’s life had taken a turn for the better. She was slowly making progress and accepting the support and help that she needed. Unfortunately, it appears as though Suzy is again struggling with her addiction. Suzy’s child, Senna Celestino, recently shared on Twitter that their mother has relapsed and is currently living on the streets once again. “I appreciate the support y’all giving my mom. But she is using the money y’all give her on the street to buy drugs,” they wrote in a tweet. “She has denied housing and staying at the psych to continue to do drugs.” “She is an adult and is able to consent for herself. We can’t make her get the help she NEEDS,” they continued in another tweet. At this time, Suzy’s Instagram account appears to be inactive, and there are no longer any public posts. Suzy’s child also said that prior to this recent relapse, Suzy had been “making really good progress.” Our hope is that Suzy will once again decide to accept the help she needs. In the meantime, our thoughts are with Senna Celestino and any other people affected by Suzy’s struggle with addiction. In Summary Suzy was one of the hottest urban supermodels of the 90’s she’s done music videos with J.Lo, Diddy and many big names of today. She signed to a huge modeling agency & while under contract Suzy was tortured, raped & drugged multiple times. Now a drug addict. Left homeless and roaming on the streets. https://www.mcebiscoo.com/the-story-of-suzy-perez-a-supermodels-who-turn-drug-addict-after-abuse/

2. I offended an old man because I was wearing this- I don’t think I need to tell what he said. He even came to my house to insult my parents and to question their upbringing. I am very short tempered so I threw him out of my house the very next moment and I am not sorry for whatever I did. 3. I was wearing this off shoulder top on my birthday. (You can see the visible shoulders. I wasn’t showing any cleavage or it wasn’t deep) I was travelling through the metro. A guy in his late 40’s stared at me for good 1 hour. I gave him a deadly look but he didn’t move his eyes even for a second. When I was just a station away I came towards the gate, again he moved his head towards me. I wanted to slap him but his age…… but before leaving I asked him to bid goodbye to me as he was staring at me. The whole coach burst into laughter. He was embarassed as hell. 4. Again I was wearing this (It’s kinda see-through top. They aren’t bra straps. That black inner is attached with it) I was travelling through metro. Two boys were standing beside me. One of them said, “ Can you see black under yellow” and they started laughing. The metro was crowded and they said it in a loud voice and everyone present there ignored it like nothing happened. I slapped them and dragged them out of the metro at the next station. The rest is history. PS – No one will come for your rescue. Learn martial arts and do what I did. I received a lovely message. Hahahahahahahahahaha. An illiterate got triggered very very very badly. Sorry dear, you can’t do anything. It needs guts which you definitely don’t have. See fellow Quorans, these are the people who write shitty sexual stories anonymously or the people who are the reason behind incest stories. I wish a safe and secure life to the family of such people. Sorry but I really wish I could donate some money for your education so that you can become a gentleman from illiterate, mannerless person. This answer pinched many people and I was requested to take this down but I won’t take this down. You need to see a therapist if you think I am defaming India. Did I say anything wrong? Why are you so much ashamed to accept the reality? I haven’t shared any abnormal incident. Almost every girl experiences this. So, what’s wrong with my answer? This is the reality which you don’t want to hear and accept. https://www.mcebiscoo.com/what-is-it-like-to-be-a-girl-in-india/

Residents of Isawo Community in Ikorodu, Lagos State, were on Monday thrown into mourning after a 23-year-old lady committed suicide over alleged abuse from her elder brother. The lady, identified as Sherifat Suleiman, was said to have committed suicide after efforts to ensure that her elder brother stops molesting her proved abortive in Ikorodu-West Local Council Development Area (LCDA). After efforts to ensure her brother stops the abuse failed, the lady, described as gentle by neighbours, was said to have fed up and consumed a substance that was believed to be a poisonous liquid. An eyewitness narrated that Sherifah was discovered by residents to have taken the substances after they sighted the deceased writhing in pains and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. He added that the 23-year-old, who had visible marks of assaults on her right thigh, died a few minutes before she was rushed to a hospital in the council. When The Guild contacted the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bala Elkana, he assured our correspondent to call back later and at the time of writing this report, the police spokesman was yet to call back. https://www.mcebiscoo.com/oh-no-lagos-lady-commits-suicide-over-alleged-siblings-abuse/

A twitter thread by media personality, Noble Igwe, has sparked off a conversation on Twitter. In his Twitter thread, the media personality opined that Igbo women are ”lazy, don’t like working, and just want to sit back and enjoy their husbands’ hard-earned money”. He said unlike Igbo women, Yoruba women are hard-working, build their houses themselves, and do not wait to inherit houses from their fathers. He went on to advise men saying;”find you a woman that is ready to work hard with you to leave things equally for your children, not the Igbo woman that is waiting on you to die first so that she can inherit and be called the head of home just by being “ Ori Aku” His tweet thread reads The Igbo women are lazy, does not like to work and just want to sit back and enjoy their husband hard earned money. They want to inherit their husband’s property and then inherit from their father’s house as well but do nothing but answer “Ori Aku” See Yoruba women. Hard working, building houses and not really trying to fight for father’s house in Ibadan. When they want to make changes, they do but Igbo women will come and make it seem like someone is holding them down. The Yoruba woman is a go getter. Breaking boundaries, doing new things every day and she does not even need a law to back her. Just her belief and living life on her terms. Guess what? They don’t need anybody’s permission. Everyday you are seeking for permission from your village to thrive in Lagos ? Build a house and inherit it, nobody from your village will come to take it. There’s no culture holding you back from achieving things, why are so in on inheriting something when you can build yours ? Why is the topic always on inheritance? Can’t you work for your own? You don’t need a husband to inherit . Have you seen Hausa women fighting for inheritance ? No, they go out and build No wonder most people think that Igbo women are greedy. The argument can never be how” my Igbo culture stopped me from buying land in Lagos”, it’s always about what to gain from the patriarchy ridden people. Kings, find you a woman that is ready to work hard with you to leave things equally for your children, not the Igbo woman that is waiting on you to die first so that she can inherit and be called the head of home just by being “ Ori Aku” Tomorrow, you’d see other women tweet about how their mother willed things to them and how it helped them do better. These tweets don’t come from Igbo women, them and their mothers are waiting for their father to die first. Ask yourself, what have you done to change the life of the girl child in your community? Is it Igbo men too that are stopping you? In conclusion, any gender can hold any agenda. While some of our concerns are true, the real change comes from doing and not holding the sins of fathers over all Igbo men. Discuss issues as it relates to particular people, communities, villages and the Igbo land at large. The Igbo man is flawed, just like every other man but you can’t deny the work that the new generation Igbo man is doing towards changing some of these narratives.” he tweeted https://www.mcebiscoo.com/trending-news-media-personality-sparks-controversy-see-what-he-said-about-igbo-women/

BBNaija’s Jackye has been left emotionally traumatized after being bodyshamed over revealing photos she posted on her social media. The reality star is also reconsidering her stance on feminism. The majority of her attackers, it was gathered are women. The former Big Brother Naija housemate wore a two-piece outfit that showed off her midriff and cleavage. A number of people felt her outfit was inappropriate for their reunion show and they called her out. Some went as far as body-shaming her. Disappointed that the majority of those bodyshamers are women, Jackye berated them for bringing another woman down and said the incident has made her realize that “most women hate to see other women grow.” She was called out for wearing an outfit that showed off a ‘fallen’ small breast. Good She wrote: After last night, I’ve come to the conclusion that, some women only fight for what’s convenient and not what’s right hence the reason we lose every battle. Guess who my biggest body shamers are… You guessed right “WOMEN”. The people who always try to pull me down with their words aka keypad warriors? “Women” The sad truth is most women hate to see other women grow. They’ll try to bring you down because you’re who they aspire to be but don’t have the guts to be. I’ve always wondered how it’s been possible for years to keep women secondary in a world they ought to rule, well now I understand Anyone who has interacted with me know I’m pro women, I’m a feminist but after last night? Naaa… Una no be am. https://www.mcebiscoo.com/see-the-revealing-outfit-bbnaijas-jackye-wore-that-made-social-media-users-bodyshame-her/

Popular Nigerian swallows are popular because a lot of people talk about them and try to paint them good so that everybody likes them. But what about the other swallows that don’t make it into the limelight? This is a list of them. 1. Fufu (Akpu). Fufu is one of the wonderful Nigerian swallows we have and it’s sad that this bad beesh does not get enough credit. Some people think it smells (someone once called it a swallow with body odour), but it’s probably because you people are eating the wrong type. 2. Wheat. Wheat is a bomb ass swallow and I wonder why a lot of people don’t like it. Wheat goes well with any soup. And it’s nutritious too. So, what exactly is happening? Why is she not popular? 3. Pupuru. Do you even know what that is? Pupuru is a delicacy that Ondo people (and a few others who love good food) know. Here’s how it is sold in the market: You take it home, scrape off the back and get your flour out. Mad ass swallow. 4. Starch. I won’t lie, I once did a bad mouth of this swallow. I called it ‘semo with palm oil added’, so yes, maybe I deserve cane. But now I have seen the light, and I am here to tell you that starch is an amazing swallow that needs to be spoken about more. 5. Tuwo. Yes, it might be popular in the North and with northerners, but you do realize that a lot of people don’t exactly rate Tuwo, right? 6. Amala. I love Amala, and I know you do too. But I saw a tweet where someone said Amala should be returned to the dustbin where it belongs and I knew that we had to improve Amala’s PR. 7. Semo. A lot of people slander semo. A whole lot. And yes, I am one of them. Here’s my official slander: 7 Annoying Things About Making Semovita. So yes, semo activists need to do a better job. https://www.mcebiscoo.com/7-nigerian-swallows-with-bad-pr/

Popular Nigerian writer, Jude Idada has narrated a rather disturbing encounter he had with a teenage hawker in Lagos recently. According to Idada, the 13-year-old hawker offered him her body in appreciation after he patronized her goods. Writing on Facebook, he said the young girl approached him to patronize her as it had been raining and she hadn’t sold much. He said he was hesitant at first because he didn’t eat such, but she insisted and he paid for 10 pieces and asked her to satisfy herself with it. After paying for the meat, she asked him if he stays alone so she can come over and sleep with him. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has narrated how he narrowly escaped death when suspected armed herdsmen shot at him in his farm at Adeke along Makurdi-Naka road in Makurdi, Benue state capital. The Governor, who spoke to journalists in Makurdi on Monday, January 27, 2020, called for arrest and prosecution of the leadership of Meyitta Allah for allegedly instigating violence against farmers in the state. Ortom said he had gone to his farm in the outskirts of Makurdi town few days ago when armed herdsmen besieged the vicinity and opened fire. “Just last week I was on my farm that is situated in the outskirts of Makurdi town when armed herdsmen came there and shot at me. “They also shot at the vehicle of our Livestock Guards who came there and shattered it. We had to call the joint military security team, Operation Whirl Stroke, OPWS, who came and saved the situation,” he added. Calling for the arrest of Miyetti Allah leadership, Ortom expressed concerns that herdsmen are allowed to carry sophisticated weapons more than security agencies and it has become a source of concern and worry that needed to be checked urgently. “We are doing everything possible to arrest the situation. These people are deliberately coming into the state. And I have always maintained that armed herdsmen, ISWA, ISIS and Boko Haram are the same thing and they are out to prosecute the same agenda. “There are no two ways about that. Even when we went for the North Central Security meeting. l told them the same thing. Miyetti Allah leadership should also be arrested because majority of all the kidnappings you see around are carried out by armed herdsmen. “They are creating a lot of insecurity and hardship for the people, the federal government must ensure they are arrested and prosecuted just like we are arresting those involved in open grazing in Benue. “The situation has become a big challenge because the farmers in Benue state are not allowed to have cutlasses but herdsmen are allowed to carry AK47. It is not correct, we cannot allow them to get into Benue and continue to create problems for us. “I don’t have control of the coercive force, but the military Operation Whirl Stroke, OPWS, has done well by returning relative peace but we want them to do it more. “Our Livestock Guards do not have guns to confront the armed herdsmen which is a big challenge. But we have been working with the Civil Defence and the trained Agro Rangers who are armed and we will collaborate with them to also help us ensure that herdsmen occupying our communities are moved out to allow the displaced persons return home to a secured environment. “Many have asked why we still leave people in the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, camps, but how do I send people home to go and die in this situation?” He added. According to the Governor, herdsmen are not coming for grazing but for interiors, declaring he was ready to defend the interest of his people. He said Nigeria is no longer in the 50s and 60s when cows were grazing for free. “Anti- open grazing prohibition law is still in force and anyone who wants to do business of animal husbandry must embrace ranching,” the Governor declared. He stated that the ranching law is not against anyone but aimed at protecting farmers and herdsmen. https://www.mcebiscoo.com/herdsmen-shoot-benue-governor-in-his-farm-calls-for-arrest-of-miyetti-allah-leadership/

Infidelity is a problem that plagues the relationship of many people. And it is more rampant among men, and some even go as far as glamourizing their cheating with some honey-laced words. Some say that men are polygamous in nature, and nature has given them a license to cheat. But is that really the truth? No woman wants to be with a cheating partner, because we all know of the psychological and emotional trauma that comes with cheating. It breaks down the psyche of the woman that is being cheated upon. I don’t understand the saying about men being polygamous in nature, but what I know is that with the right approach from his woman, a man will find it very hard to cheat on her. Men are like clay, if you mold them properly they will give you the shape you desire to get out of them. All you need to do is to treat your man right, and he will never cheat on you. And even though he was doing so before, he will change. In this article, I have shared 6 secret tips for you to apply if your man is cheating on you. I made this article with women in mind, but I am positive that it can be applied by men too who find it difficult to get their women to be faithful to them. 1. Don’t judge him. You don’t quench fire by pouring another fire into it. Sometimes people grow worse when you try to judge them. It makes you look like the enemy to them. It makes them feel you want to play God in their life, as if you want to control their actions. And because they want to have that sense of freedom, and give themselves the assurance that they are not under anybody’s control, they start cheating the more. To them, it is an adventure, a definition of freedom. Learn to be calm sometimes, and not be judgemental. Let your calmness be his judge. Speak to him in a calm manner, and let him know how his actions are affecting you psychologically. Let him know the risk your relationship with him is facing because of that. Try not to attack him, and trust me, his conscience will be his judge. He will feel the love you have for him in your calmness. He will know you mean well for him. And if he truly loves you, he will stop. 2. Try to understand his triggers. Just like I said before, try to talk to him calmly. But while talking to him, what do you want to talk about? His triggers. Before a partner cheats in a relationship, something must have triggered him to do so. Is it that he’s not satisfied with you? Is he doing so because of money? Or is it because of your attitude towards him? Trust me, there is a reason attached to every action. And if you can create that conducive atmosphere for both of you, and talk to him in a way that will push him to open up to you, he might squeal to you what pushed him to cheat on you. And if you can get him to tell you his triggers, then I believe you can handle it from there. 3. Don’t attack the girl he’s cheating on you with. I know that some girls do this a lot, thinking that by attacking the girl, her man will keep away from the girl and be devoted to them. Well, that’s a bad move. Doing so will make your man feel that you want to manipulate his world. There are some men who can even go as far as coming to attack you too for attacking their side chicks, while some may just decide to change tactics and become more secretive. So when you discover that your man is cheating on you, the person you have to face is your man and not the stranger girl outside. It is your man you have to talk to, and not the side chick. It is him that you know, and not any other person. But while talking to him, make him know you know the person he is cheating on, if you have your proofs. Then iron out issues with him. In that way, he will see the maturity in you, and turn a new leaf. You will be amazed at how quickly he might change. 4. Do not cheat on him back. A big mistake that some girls make in their relationships is trying to pay back bad with bad. I have seen some girls who began cheating on their guys simply because they discovered that their guys were cheating on them. And in most of those cases, the results were always ugly. If you start cheating on your man, just because you found out that he’s cheating on you, you will end up destroying the relationship. If he finds out, he will feel that you are in competition with him. And no man wants to be with a woman who is in competition with him. Instead of changing, he will likely break up with you, and you will end up regretting why you did it. 5. Cook his best meals for him. I know this can be a difficult thing to do, especially when you are hurt and angry with him. But this action is one of the highest display of maturity and love. It’s a way of telling him, “Look, I still love you, despite what you’ve done. And I want you to change.” That works like magic, in most cases. Just like the saying goes, that the way to a man’s heart is his stomach. He will see that you still love him, even though he has misbehaved, and he will see the need to change to make you happy too, just like you are making him happy. 6. Be yourself. This is the last one on the list. Don’t allow his action to change you from who you were before. Don’t allow it to turn you into a bitter person. Be the same person you were previously. Just like I said before, if you find out that your man is cheating on you, do these 6 things to him. And chances are very high that he will change and learn to love you more. Have you ever been in a relationship where your partner cheated on you? How did you handle it? Let us know in the comments section. And also let us know how you’ve benefited from this article. The Federal Ministry of Education has said Nigerian secondary final year students will not be participating in the upcoming West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations. The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, who disclosed this to State House Correspondents on Wednesday after the seventh weekly virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, also said there is no date for resumption of schools in the country yet. He said he would prefer that Nigerian students lose an academic year than to expose them to dangers, appealing to state governments that had announced reopening of schools to reconsider their decision for the sake of the students’ safety. Speaking on the effect the decision to keep schools closed could have on final year secondary school students, due to write the WAEC, Adamu said Nigeria would not open the schools yet, not even for the WAEC, which is a regionally control programme. He, however debunked an earlier report, which claimed that the Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, announced August 4, 2020, as resumption date for schools, saying the Minister was misquoted. “I don’t know whether you journalists are misquoting the Minister of State for Education or maybe quoting what WAEC said and made it into a story. Schools under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Education will not be opened on August 4 or anytime soon. “Our schools will only open when we believe it’s safe for our children and that is when the situation is right, not when the incidence of the infection is going up in the nation. I just want to make it clear. “We will not open soon for examination or for any reason, unless it is safe for our children, even WAEC. WAEC will not determine for us what we do. Schools will remain closed. “Yesterday we called on stakeholders who will tell us the situation and the way it should be done for it to be safe. While the meeting was going on, WAEC announced that they are starting examinations. Let’s see who they are going to start with. “I will also like to use this position to ask those states that have already announced (reopening), I appeal to them. I think it is not safe. I feel responsible for all children, not just those who are in federal government controlled schools. Please let’s save our children from this. “One infected child is enough to infect a whole class. When they close from class they go into the dormitory, this is not the right time to open schools. I appeal to the states that have already announced to reconsider it”, he said. When asked if Nigeria will be the only country to miss out on the WAEC examinations, he said “me as Minister of Education, if I’m given the chance, I don’t mind Nigeria losing a whole school year than exposing our children to danger. WAEC is a parastatal of the Ministry of Education, they cannot determine for the government what it does”, he said. https://www.mcebiscoo.com/nigerian-students-wont-write-2020-waec-see-why/

Limes contain many antioxidant nutrients, including vitamin C, flavonoids, flavones, triterpenoid, and limonoids. Limonoids are phytonutrients that research has shown to have significant benefits for overall health and wellbeing. Although limonoids are as abundant in citrus fruits as vitamin C, unlike vitamin C, limonoids are not currently available as a supplement. Limonoid-containing “citrus molasses” can be used to fortify foods, but it’s currently only used in food for animals. So, for now, fresh citrus fruits are the best way to get your daily dose of limonoids. Lime Nutrition for Heart Health The antioxidants in lime are good for your heart too. Antioxidants help promote the health of arteries and the circulatory system. Since arteries are responsible for carrying blood to and from your heart and other organs, keeping them healthy plays an important role in heart health. Limes are also a source of magnesium and potassium, two nutrients that support heart health. Potassium supports blood health and circulation and magnesium is essential to keep muscles working properly, plus limonoids in limes may promote healthy blood lipid levels. Skin Benefits of Lime The nutrients and antioxidants in limes help rejuvenate skin and strengthen collagen. Vitamin C nourishes skin cells inside and out and may even help fight signs of skin aging. Hydration is also important to keeping skin healthy, and adding lime to your water is a tasty way to hydrate and revitalize healthy skin. Some people also use the essential oil of Kaffir lime in skin tonics to help smooth skin quality, but be cautious when using essential oils on your skin and never apply lime directly to the skin. Read the product label and choose an essential oil product that is formulated for use on the skin. Lime products applied topically may make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Lime for Digestive Support The acidity in lime may help break down food so you can digest it more easily, plus the flavonoids in limes stimulate digestive juices, and may even stimulate bowel activity. Drinking some water with lime on an empty stomach in the morning may help kick start your digestive system too. Also, try drinking a glass of warm water with the juice of a whole lime about thirty minutes before a meal to aid digestion. You may be less likely to overeat if you drink warm lime water before a meal. Immune System Booster The vitamin C and antioxidants provided by limes may help give your immune system a healthy boost. Vitamin C is needed by the all the tissues of your body for growth and repair and it’s involved in many important functions, including immune function and helping protect cells from free radicals. Limes and Weight Loss The citric acid in limes may help kick up your metabolism so you burn more calories, and if you get your lime nutrition by drinking lime water, that’s even better. Staying hydrated is an excellent way to help you maintain a healthy weight. It’s easy to mistake thirst for hunger, so if you’re hydrated, you may be less likely to eat without actually being hungry. Lime for Kidney Health Adding limes or lemons to your diet may help promote kidney health, since citric acid may boost urinary citrate and urine volume. And of course, water is great for your kidneys too. So add some lime to your next glass of water to help give your kidneys, and your whole body, a welcome health boost. Lime and Nutrient Absorption Vitamin C plays a beneficial role in the absorption of iron, which is essential for your body’s production of blood and for hemoglobin. Low levels of iron can cause a host of health concerns. Since vitamin C can increase the amount of iron you absorb from the foods you eat when eaten together. Lime is an excellent addition to recipes that contain iron-rich ingredients like spinach and red meats. Lime for Healthy Joints Vitamin C and other antioxidants in limes may also help support the health of your joints. Promote joint flexibility, and limes may help reduce uric acid levels in the body. https://www.mcebiscoo.com/health-benefits-of-limes-you-must-read/

Real Madrid earned another precious win at Athletic Bilbao, again prevailing 1-0 courtesy of a Sergio Ramos penalty. Sergio Ramos was Real Madrid‘s penalty hero for the second time in four days as a 1-0 win at Athletic Bilbao sent the LaLiga leaders seven points clear. Zinedine Zidane’s men have been flawless since the season’s restart to claim control of the title rice, but they were given a stern test by Getafe on Thursday and again had their work cut out for a time on Sunday. Yet as against Getafe, Ramos stepped up to net a second-half penalty and secure all three points in Bilbao, with his latest decisive Bioreportsing after Dani Garcia tripped Marcelo in the area to prompt a VAR review. Editors’ Picks A seventh straight victory ensured Madrid made the most of playing before rivals Barcelona, who will kick-off at Villarreal later in the day knowing they have an even more significant gap to make up. Madrid recalled Marco Asensio for his first start of the season in a move which almost brought immediate reward. The fit-again forward drew a low save from a fourth-minute free-kick, with Karim Benzema then unable to direct his header goalwards when Dani Carvajal squared the rebound. That was about the extent of Athletic goalkeeper Unai Simon’s involvement before half-time, while Thibaut Courtois repelled Raul Garcia’s powerful header at the other end. Article continues below Simon might have had a far greater role to play, though, as both Rodrygo and Benzema squandered huge headed opportunities from searching Asensio centres, each missing the target completely. The second period appeared set to play out in similarly frustrating fashion for Madrid until Marcelo went down in the area and a penalty was eventually awarded, with Ramos coolly tucking his finish inside the left-hand post in the 73rd minute. Simon saved smartly with his legs from Benzema in the closing stages, but the one Ramos goal proved enough for Madrid again. https://www.mcebiscoo.com/athletic-club-v-real-madrid-match-report-05-07-2020-primera-division/

Last month’s sectarian crises in Zango Kataf and Kauru local government areas of Kaduna state claimed 99 Fulani lives, while 122 others are still missing, the Fulani leaders have said. The crises that engulfed Atyap Chiefdom in Zango Kataf LGA and Tsam Chiefdom in Kauru LGA between June 11 and 13, over the corpse of a man that was found on his farm on a land in dispute, equally claimed the lives of 448 cows, while 2,923 cattle are missing. Addressing the media on Friday in Kaduna, the secretary-general, Kaduna state Molga Fulde Development Association (MOFDA), Barrister Nuhu Ibrahim, said “3,099 Fulani have so far been displaced due to the crises.” He called on the state government to provide relief materials for them ahead of rebuilding their houses and resettling them back to their communities. Ibrahim, who read from a text he jointly signed with the chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Kaduna state, Alhaji HarunaTugga; chairman, Kaduna state GAFDAN, Ardo Idris Gundaru; chairman, Kaduna state BAFYAN, Abbas J. Julde, and the coordinator, FUDECO Kaduna state chapter, Barr. Abubakar Ibrahim Naseh, said all they wanted “is thorough investigation to find and punish the perpetrators.” “After several search and rescue efforts, the total number of Fulani pastoralists now confirmed killed during the attacks is 99, while there are still 122 missing persons. It is on a sad note that we are gradually concluding that these 122 persons have also been killed and their bodies dismembered to hide the grievous crime. “Regarding livestock, 19 of the cows declared missing have been confirmed killed bringing the total number of cows killed in the attacks to 448. The total number of cows still missing is 2,923, excluding sheep, goats and poultry. “We urge government and security agencies to disregard any blackmail by SOKAPU and its collaborators by intensifying efforts at restoration of peace and stability in the affected areas. We continue to demand for investigation, arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators of the violence. Many of the survivors know the killers of their kit and kin very well. Some of the traditional and community leaders that aided the violence are known to the victims. “We appeal to individuals and organisations in Kaduna state to come to the aid of the victims. We call on all peace-loving communities in the Southern Senatorial Zone to foster stronger collaboration to defeat the agents of destabilisation and ethnic chauvinist.” https://www.mcebiscoo.com/update-99-fulani-killed-122-missing-in-zango-kataf-kauru-crises/

The Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, better identified as Eklesiyya Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN), says it lost over 8,370 members to Boko Haram attacks in the Northeast. The EYN, which was established 97 years ago in Garkida, but currently with headquarters in Kwarhi of Adamawa State, disclosed at a world press conference in Yola yesterday that eight pastors were among the Boko Haram victims. EYN President, Rev Joel Billi, who read the text of the press conference at the EYN main branch in Jimeta, Yola, said EYN was the single Christian denomination worst hit by activities of the Boko Haram. “Over 700,000 members have been displaced, with only seven out of 60 district church councils not directly affected by the insurgency,” the EYN president said. He said 217 out of the abducted 276 Chibok school girls belonged to the EYN. He appealed to the federal government and the governments of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states to rescue the remaining Chibok schoolgirls as well as Leah Sharibu, Alice Loksha and hundreds of others abducted by the Boko Haram. Rev Joel Billi, who also indicated that many communities in hard-hit Gwoza in Borno State remained deserted after numerous Boko Haram attacks, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to deploy at least a battalion “behind the Gwoza Hills” to encourage the return of residents now in IDPs camps. https://www.mcebiscoo.com/shocking-boko-haram-kills-8370-members-of-one-church-in-adamawa/

Hong Kongers are scrubbing their social media accounts, deleting chat histories and mugging up on cyber privacy as China's newly imposed security law blankets the traditionally outspoken city in fear and self-censorship. Legal analysts and rights groups warn the broad wording of the law will choke civil liberties and free speech in Hong Kong China's authoritarian leaders enacted sweeping new powers on Tuesday -- keeping the contents secret until the last minute -- after more than a year of often violent protests in a financial hub increasingly chafing under Beijing's rule. Certain political views such as wanting independence became outlawed overnight and legal analysts and rights groups warn the broad wording of the law -- which bans subversion, secession, terrorism and colluding with foreign forces -- will choke civil liberties and free speech. Despite assurances from Beijing that political freedoms would not be hindered, many Hong Kongers moved to delete digital references of their opposition to China's ruling Communist Party, which uses similar laws on the mainland to crush dissent. "I changed my profile name and switched to a private account so that my employer will not be able to see future posts which they deem to be offensive to China or have breached the national security law," Paul, an employee of a large company whose management he described as "pro-Beijing", told AFP. He said he would be "very careful" about posting in the future, fearing colleagues or even friends might report him, and asked not to be identified. VPNs and deleted chats After the law came in, many Hong Kongers took to Twitter and other social media platforms such as Telegram and Signal to either announce their departure or share tips on internet safety. "We will clear all the messages for your safety," one popular Telegram group used by pro-democracy protesters wrote. "Please watch out for what you say." One lawyer with pro-democracy leanings messaged an AFP journalist asking for their entire WhatsApp history to be deleted. Another announced they were moving all communications to Signal, which they felt was a more secure messaging app. Beijing has said some serious cases will be prosecuted on the mainland, dismantling the legal firewall that has existed between Hong Kong's judiciary and China's Communist Party-controlled courts since the 1997 handover from Britain. Local police have been granted wider surveillance powers to monitor suspects, including wiretapping and accessing digital communications, without a judge's approval. The new law also allows China's feared security agencies to set up shop in Hong Kong for the first time. Beijing says it can now prosecute national security crimes committed outside it borders -- even by foreigners -- raising concerns that people visiting of transiting through Hong Kong could be arrested. Companies providing virtual private network (VPN) tools -- which can make internet access more secure -- have reported a spike in downloads since the law was announced. Billie, a 24-year-old assistant to a district councillor, said he started using a VPN in May when China announced plans for the new law. He culled many of his social media followers and removed some "sensitive" posts -- even though Beijing's new law is not supposed to be retroactive. "I feel very ashamed and embarrassed. I never wanted to do so, but I felt I have to, in order to survive," he told AFP, also asking for anonymity. "A part of me is gone." 'Lennon Walls' removed It is not just digital walls being scrubbed. Several pro-democracy restaurants and shops have taken down their "Lennon Wall" displays expressing support for protests or criticism of China's leadership. Gordon Lam, a pro-democracy activist prominent within the city's catering sector, told AFP at least one restaurant sought his advice after police visited and warned their display "might violate the national security law". "It seems the government is using the national security law to put pressure on the yellow economic circle," Lam said, using a local phrase to describe businesses that support calls for democracy and are popular with protesters. The first arrests under the new security law were made during protests on Wednesday when thousands defied a ban on rallies, many chanting slogans. Most were arrested for having flags and leaflets in favour of Hong Kong independence, a clear signal that even possession of such items was now illegal. Others vowed to avoid censoring themselves. "It's not that I am not at all worried," Chow Po-chung, an associate professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, wrote on Facebook. "I just don't want to be overly worried and live in fear all the time. Because once fear takes root in our minds, we can't live up to what we want for ourselves." https://www.mcebiscoo.com/hong-kongers-scrub-social-media-history-in-face-of-security-law/

The key to clear skin is to support the body’s pathways of elimination, reduce the production of excess hormones, reduce toxic substances from your diet and feed the body with skin nourishing foods. 7 Tips For Clear Skin The following guide can help you to transform your skin and I hope it will help you to achieve the skin you were meant to have. 1. Have A Healthy Gut I know we nutritionists are fixated on the gut – but having a healthy digestive system is the key. If you do not have regular bowel movements toxins build up in your body, causing inflammation. As the skin is an excretory organ the body tries to rid itself of the excess toxins through the skin, resulting in spots. Increasing your vegetable intake should help to promote regular bowel movements, as will avoiding any foods your body has difficulty digesting (wheat and dairy can be common trigger foods). 2. Go Sugar And Grain-Free Sugar plays havoc with your skin. It triggers an inflammatory response in the body causing the body to release hormones such as insulin and other androgenic hormones. This surge in hormones causes (as described above) the skin sebum glands to go into overdrive, therefore resulting in spots. Sugar also feeds the bad bacteria in your gut, compromising digestive function. Sugar can come in two forms: Simple Carbohydrates/Sugars: Cakes, biscuits, and chocolates, fruit juices, soft drinks, alcohol. I would suggest strictly limiting these and working towards eliminating them completely. Complex Carbohydrates/Sugars: Pasta, potatoes, rice, whole grains and legumes (like lentils, chickpeas, and kidney beans). Although these have higher nutritional value than simple carbohydrates, they still get broken down into sugar by the body, so if acne is a problem for you I would limit these also. Always choose higher fiber alternatives like quinoa, brown rice, sweet potatoes and beans and pulses, however, ensure to watch your portion sizes. Little to no grains are best. Choose green vegetables over starchy carbohydrates wherever possible. A high sugar intake is especially problematic when your liver function is already being overworked (for example from high alcohol and processed food intakes) as it’s your liver that deactivates and clears excess hormones from the body, which brings me to my third point … 3. Support Your Liver! This is crucial to achieving clear skin. If your liver function is compromised it cannot clear excess hormones and toxins from the body, a build up of which we now know results in spots. Foods that support and promote good liver function include green, leafy and brightly colored vegetables, berries, eggs, oily fish and nuts and seeds. On the flip side, alcohol, sugar, and processed foods place a burden on the liver so keep these to a minimum. 4. Feed Your Skin Your skin is the largest organ in your body and needs to be fed the right foods. Essential fats found in oily fish like salmon and mackerel, avocados and nuts and seeds help to keep the skin plump and dewy, help to reduce inflammation and help to balance hormones. 5. Don’t Drink Milk Dairy, especially milk, is thought to negatively affect skin health in two ways. Firstly, due to the sugars in the milk and secondly, due to the hormones found in milk – milk which is taken from pregnant and lactating cows contain particularly high amounts of hormones which are then passed onto you. Try organic milk and if you still find your skin flaring up switch to dairy-free alternatives such as rice, oat, coconut or almond milk (my favorite). 6. Chill Out! Stress exacerbates spots. Have you ever noticed how you break out during exam time or a busy period of work? The reason for this is that your body produces hormones to deal with the stress, creating imbalanced hormone levels, and we know by now what that does to our skin. It also compromises our digestive and immune functions, making us more prone to breakouts. Try and find ways to manage your stress levels such as taking up a relaxing hobby like yoga. 7. Drink A Lot Of Water I can’t write about skin health without mentioning the Holy Grail H2O. You’ve heard it before and you’ll hear it again, but water really is vitally important in achieving a clear complexion. It helps to keep your skin hydrated and removes waste and toxins from the body.
